These are with SU5 and BLOOM and FLARE both off: EyeAdaptation 0 ColorGrading 0 Sharpen 1 I think the color pallet(s) and shading in these shots now look great, and is what I had in SU4. I have full Global MSFS Ultra set, (except for Bloom and Flare turned off) and am getting 30 sustained FPS. Quite happy, with it all. The following is with LIVE WEATHER as on, in the PNW. Although I don't show ocean/water in these terrain shots, with both Bloom and Flare turned off, I now have a very nice shade of blue to almost black surface color to the oceans, lakes, and rivers. Back to what I had in SU4. So, with the FPS performance n…

Here is Bellegarde airport created by Claude Roure. Bellegarde-Vouvray aerodrome is located 2 km from Bellegarde sur Valserine in Ain. It is used for the practice of light aviation. TECNAM, an Italian manufacturer of light aircraft, has an agency there. A 36/18 paved runway, 670 m long. https://www.simvol.org/en/downloads/airports/bellegarde

Dear community, I am thrilled to announce that Sky Dolly v0.8 brings support for multiplayer formation flying. It currently does so via CSV import/export, and the ability to synchronise the aircrafts. Also refer to the announcement here: I hope Sky Dolly is useful and that you enjoy it as much as I enjoy developing this open source application 🙂

Not "the" but "a" temporary solution to alleviate the overbrightness. The SU5 overexposure has generated a cascade of threads where people bring a myriad of solutions often focused on HDR. I thought it might be useful to have a thread focused on old non-HDR capable monitors like mine (a 2013 Dell) and Nvidia cards (mine is a 1080 vanilla). For those having a Nvidia but are unfamiliar with the accompanying software which is often rather stupidly IMO discarded as bloatware, Nvidia GE Experience has filters that you can activate game by game with a brightness/contrast parameters panel : Exposure, Contrast, Highlights (ie bright tones), Shadows (ie dark tones) , Gam…

Admit it, you were SUPER PUMPED to download SU5 because you too believed it was going to transform your GTX 1050 graphic card into an RTX 3090. Well, maybe not a 3090 but definitely a 3070! Back to Earth…. The reality was somewhat different. Yes, you did see big FPS gains without the stutters, with the lone exception of the “stutter” that ended up sending you back to the desktop. By now you are certainly an expert in these “stutters,” unaffectionately known as CTDs. So, how are you going to get past these CTDs so you too can join the party? It really isn’t that complicated, but you are going to have to get your hands dirty. So without boring you any furthe…

Just to add sth positive: never had any installation issues nor CTDs or similar. Before the hotfix I was plagued by temperature fluctuations, and even yesterday after the hotfix it occured, but just once. On my flight today temperatures are really stable and I get incredible accurate wether, have a look below. Maybe they fix on the serverside more then we think. Hope this lasts longer then for the moment ...

Before SU5 I had plenty of real time AI traffic at many airports, but now since update I have waited at EGLL,EGKK,KLAX, for a while and no RT traffic, except for static. I even tried AI generated (offline) traffic after the hotfix and still nothing. all settings are on for AI traffic, and nothing in my community folder, so I am at a loss, as I have not seen anyone else with this problem. Any help would greatly appreciated. John.

I was so happy to see the C172 float and ski variations, they are great !! I landed with the C172, and as I like to do the proper shut off procedure, i switched off everything and wanted to turn battery off, but I couldn't... The switch wouldn't move and a beep sound is heard as if I was doing something wrong. Did I miss something here? I am surprised to see I can't turn battery off in a C172, any idea? Note: I have installed the Working Title Garmin mod from the marketplace, I hope it didn't break anything. Thanks

So, is it me, or did the clouds improve in Sim Update 5? I am watching ClearedTakeoff's stream right now on Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/clearedtakeoff) and he thinks the clouds have improved in Sim Update 5. I tend to agree with him, it seems the clouds have improved. Maybe it's the lighting on the clouds now. Something seems different in Sim Update 5. Edit: People are saying the lighting is different in Sim Update 5 versus before. So it's possible the lighting is also affecting the clouds.

Hi, I think the whole update process for MSFS is a pain in the.... The need to split the update between MS store and the game itself is troublesome and I already had to completely reinstall windows twice because my store app wouldn't launch anymore, no matter which tipps and tricks I tried, hence I couldn't update and play it anymore. So I was thinking to switch to the steam version of the game. This of course only if there are less problems associated with the update process (and the game itself of course) Would you recommend this or rather stick with the store version? Thank you!

Hi!, some people mentioned on the forum that the HOTFIX for fs2020 would have been available yesterday. I am wondering is the HOTFIX already out there and need to be installed manually or would it be a mandatory installation like the other updates With regards

Hi all, I am more used to flying large jets in FS9 and I have set the 3rd lever on my saitek throttle quadrant to be the speed brake / spoiler. When I look at a large jet from an external view, I can see the spoiler come down to slow the aircraft on descent. My question is...do GA aircraft also have a spoiler and if so, is it the same controller option in MSFS? I have viewed a GA aircraft from an external view and cannot see any spoiler, so I am not sure if there is one to use or if it isnt a simulated moving part? Or do GA aircraft not go fast enough to require one? Also, do I need to set a propeller reverser control for a GA aircraft on landing? Thanks ve…

Hi, France VFR has a Bundle#1 including 5 airports. I couple of months ago I remember a developer who has published couple of airports in France too, and the cool thing was that if you would register and buy the bundle all new airports that will be released you would get for free. I just don't remember that website, can you help me out?

I find this new SU5 scheme by far the biggest immersion killer of all, please Asobo give us options here. The Blackshark AI is brilliant and should be appreciated from a distance as well.

I have a monthly bandwidth cap and I notice when increasing the LOD it also increase the bandwidth. So those of you with capped plans may want to keep a close eye out on your data usage! I think i'm going to change it back down to 2.0

after su5 i cant seem to "retry last flight plan" and get ifr clearence. if you cancel ifr and takeoff with a flight plan, thats it now, you cant get the ifr clearence reinstated once airborne. pre update you used to be able too. is this just me or is there a fix? thanks!

Completed a couple of flights in the Longitude and am impressed how smooth the sim now runs. Average framerates 25, previously I was struggling to stay above 15 - this even with coming into Aerosoft's Paderborn airport, which previously would have been impossible on my geriatric PC. View changes are instant, displays are smooth and responsive. I did notice that the scenery was on occasion a bit on the bright side, and the clouds are sometimes pixelated at the edges. But I'll trade visuals for smoothness anytime. I panned around like crazy and didn't notice any major frame rate changes or pop-in. The latter probably because I didn't look too hard and don't…
