Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I don't recall this happening this time last year because I don't think snow was implemented unless it was currently snowing in live weather. I flew out of KMSP (default) and KEGE and KDTW the day before and the airport ground was completely white everywhere. It was very difficult to see the taxiways and even the runway . Is this a new feature that doesn't look right? It basically looked like white cement. Once airborne the snow looked good, but on the ground it didn't even look like snow. I don't recall seeing that at any payware airports. Anyone else getting this?

I have been using the SR22 lately. I'm just wondering what the throttle setting is for climb? Is it wide open? Or do you pull it back to 25 inches? Regards Dave.

I have a strange terrain spike just North of the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area and I found that it’s being driven by an airport runway hovering high above the ground called “Test Flying S Ranch”. I’ve tried without success to isolate it to one of my add on airports etc. Do any of you also have this airport and if so know how we might exclude it to get rid of the terrain spike? Thanks, Steve

I put the ADF frequency in, but don't see any indicator which direction to fly.

WHY!? WHHHYYYY is that thing there!? The one that pop ups all the time on the bottom right of the screen that seemingly doesn't serve a single purpose, but continuously goes off throughout a flight. I was hoping they'd do away with it with this update, but it's still there. Does anyone know why that silly thing is still there or have any idea how to get rid of it? Thanks!

I am flying along with no problems when I realize that the CH Yoke, CH pedals, and keyboard are no longer talking to the sim. But, the mouse does move the cursor. The mouse click will not bring up the menu nor will the mouse wheel zoom or do any of the functions I have programmed for the various keys and wheels. The keyboard ESC works and I can get to Control Options where I find that ALL the programmed axises and keys work as I want. I return to the sim flying window and again none of the controls work. This happens in VR and in 2D.

He originally started it as a project for school, I believe, and eventually implemented it successfully into Prepar3D. Hi In general terms, I'm pleased with the long-awaited update. I pretty much only fly in VR and: - it loaded OK (it's still a quirky process but, in relative terms, it went OK) - the Task Bar works!!!! While the previous Cntrl-0 workaround at least meant VR users could run the sim at all over the past 2 months, it would randomly** repeat the problem during a flight - and lifting the headset when you need two hands to press the Cntrl and 0 while being 500' from the tarmac was 'a bit of an immersion killer' 😉 . Does anyone know how to access the upper menu present in 2D in VR? After setting up my VR config I couldn't find how to turn the menu on in VR. Thanks in advance.

Hey everyone, Well, it had to happen sooner or later. After a flawless existence with MSFS since I got it I've hit my first roadblock. The latest update process stops at 63% and it will stay like that indefinitely 😢 Latest Win10 updates installed & Community folder is empty. I am on Steam. Would be grateful for any advice, thanks!!

Every so often the photogrammetry in cities such as Chicago, New York, San Fran, etc. produce triangular objects, particularly buildings. What is the cause of this? Is it a bandwidth issue, settings issue on my pc and in the sim or my hardware? I have been getting this a lot lately, particularly in cities where snow is present. Thanks!

Thought I would take MSFS for a spin after not flying for a while - The system started installing an update 😡 Now I can not get the NAV radios to work properly. I tune to a nearby VOR, made sure I have the nav source selected to NAV1 but the needles do not move. Tried both G1000 and the steam gauges in the 172. What am I missing.......

Not sure what happened, but my rudder controls seems to be reversed. This wasn't the case before. I'm not sure if the problem relates to the FBWA320, as I haven't tried testing it on other planes. But when I press the left trigger my plane steers right, and when pressing the right trigger the plane will steer left.

Is anyone using this recently released product? It's a reasonably inexpensive price to purchase, but my main question would be, what happens to textures at third party addon airports? On the website blurb it says compatible with 'most' third party airports, but that's a little vague. Just interested in hearing some feedback and opinions.

Wondering if anyone uses reshade. In the past I've used it to make things clearer and in one game I forget it was used to get rid of fog and haze. But it did cause a big FPS hit. Anyone use reshade for MSFS to get any simlar results ? And if so what was your FPS hit ?

Hey, Some years ago I tried getting into FSE under P3D and it was always a so-so experience, always had problems with it in various forms, like servers suddenly going down and the interface has always been kinda clunky. Today I decided to give it another shot, loaded it up and did a flight, only for the servers to go down, making me unable to log the flight... Doesn't feel all that great and I think my patience with FSE has worn out. That leads me to the question; what are the alternatives available for MSFS? I saw OnAir but the feedback just seem so lukewarm, people talk about instability, the sub fee and how even the official media channels are completely void…

Hi. I am trying to master FCR to produce some videos, and am having some problems. So, using FCR, I record my plane landing. Then using the play and slider facility, I change the camera to a quickview, all of which seem to be working OK, and the quickviews change the position of the camera on the pre recorded flight. My issues seems to be around when I select the showcase camera and free drone. I position the camera where I want it, and then let it play - what I see on the screen is what I want to record - but when I go back and play the whole flight - the pre fixed camera view are all OK - but none of the free drone cameras seem to have been captured. Today I made a flight from Cairo to Brussels with the FBW A320. I was taxiing to runway 25C in front of the AIG Egyptair 985 B789 fight to New-York leaving at the same time. After I took off, Cairo Tower cleared Egyptair 985 to "line up and wait". Then MSFS ATC asked me to switch to the next frequency, and so I did. However - as often lately - that frequency never became available, neither with the ATC menu no with my switching to that frequency on the Airbus radio itself. The sim stock hybrid SR22 is not getting much love, despite the great improvements by Working Title to the G1000NXI. Does anyone know if there is a "study level" Cirrus SR22 being developed? I cannot get the Kodiac to load either cargo or passengers. When I put 200lb per the video nothing happens. Cargo the same thing. What am I missing?

Hi. Have a thing that bugs me in MSFS. My local airstrip that Im currently doing my PPL schooling at (ESSZ) exists in MSFS but its really just a piece of grass, no runway markings at all. In real life there is some read cone's and some runway lights around the runways. Im not after realism in this case, im more after a way of being able to distinguish the runway from the rest of the surrounding. Since all grass is the same height its almost inpossible in the simulator. Just wonder if there is a tool or anything similar to just add some cones or something around the runway?.
