Hello, Started using Rex Weather during the recent MSFS Live Weather outage. I am experiencing a significant negative impact on sim performance during the periods where Rex updates and/or transistions the weather. Frame rates become choppy no matter which setting combination I try. My rig is reasonably beefy, so I am a bit at a loss. Sharing any advice or similar experience would be appreciated 😀 BR Søren

Gave it for Christmas. Would not turn on. An email to GrassMonkey sent back suggestion that Windows privacy settings may be wrong. Sure enough. Settings / Privacy / Camera / Allow Access was off. Sliding to ON and it works great. On watching it in action I think I might actually like the GrassMonkey Puck better than TrackIR, mainly for the many OpenTrack settings and the modified webcam receiver.

What is the cause and cure for the blurry gauges and scenery when my head is moving in TrackIR? My system suddenly changed after messing with an alternative head tracker device. Motion blur has now completely wrecked my sim experience using TrackIR. I have studied hard on TrackIR profiles, including speed and smooth sliders. I get 30-40 FPS. Suggestions and solutions, please?

So this post has been long overdue, because I have "suffered" from it since launch back in August 2020. I've grown used to it, but whenver I try one of the older sims, I remember how "cameras should work". So my issue is that let's say I have a few airplanes I usually fly, like the DC6 and the Salty 747, and I've setup like 4-5 custom cameras for them. In the 747, I have a pilot's view, a view for the FMC and main display units, one for the overhead, one for the pedestal etc. I have the views bound to my razer gaming mouse, so I can easily swap between the views. As the title suggests, I'm very pleased with this update, er - hotfix? Call it what you'd like, but after downloading, I'm pleased to see a lot of issues have been fixed. I didn't partake in the beta because I was worried about having to reinstall the whole thing, so I know a lot of you have already seen the improvements. TrackIR being fixed is huge. Along with the weather. Overall, very happy. How do others feel about it?

Hi I am flying the TBM930 latest version with the G3000 working mod v0.7.6 and the radar doesn't scan/sweep anymore and any storms that show up are just static and not moving as you fly. Anyone else have this issue? It use to work until the last MSFS 2020 update. Any suggestions or fixes available? Thanks Al

Something puzzles me about Rex Weather. It is Metar Based, so one should expect the sky in all directions to look similar but to morph globally as a new metar area is entered. I tried a preset called 'approaching cold front'. I just sat on the ground to observe the weather. One direction had a completely blue sky, but the other clearly showed a cloudscape with falling rain. The 'front' got closer over time and the visibility dropped as the rain approached - no morphing of weather was observed. I took off and flew into the rain, did a one eighty and flew out of the rain to see a blue sky in the distance. How is Rex doing this when I always thought the only way to se…

Hey all and Happy New Year! I've never got into Vatsim for various reasons. My thing is shadowing real-world flights. I look up a flight in FlightAware, check Flight Radar 24 for runways in use and use SimBrief to plan the flight. I then program the FMS as per the real world flight plan, tune into LiveATC and basically follow the flight as closely as possible. It's incredible how close to life the flight becomes. For example, I'm shadowing Alaska 821 from KBZN to KSEA. Real world ground speed according to Flight Radar 24 is 392Kts at 380. Sim ground speed is 391 Kts albeit in a different aircraft. I'm pretty happy with JF warrior. I flew the real Warrior only once so far but JF Warrior seems pretty close to the real thing and I actually use it for practicing my real flights. Recently I got a weird problem. Sometimes I started a flight with Warrior and found the control was really sluggish. It's like the plane reacts to my controls with a half-second delay and is also a bit too wobbly. I looked at the control surfaces and they acted instantly with my yoke movement, so it's not a hardware problem as far as I can tell. This doesn't happen/change in the middle of a flight. The flight either starts with a "normal" warrior or a "sluggish" warrior. Anyone bump…

The FBW Airbus has the ability to sync the MCDU Flightplan to MSFS, so even you choose only a departure, you can get a IFR clearance. This works well, at least on my side. Only downside is that you only get the initial climb altitude, and no further instructions to climb. So you have to ask ATC. The other way is to export the simbrief Flightplan to MSFS and import it in the Worldmap. This way you also get instructions to climb to your cruise altitude. I wonder if you can have sync on and also put the Flighplan in the worldmap. And what happens when i change the STAR in the MCDU. Will ATC notice and act accordingly. Seems CYTZ is not in the Aerosoft CRJ database?

Hi: I purchased the FSDT KSDF Addon and for some reason, after I installed, there are trees through out the airport. I mean everywhere, aprons, taxiways, runways, etc. I have removed all items from my Community folder except this addon, but still the same issue. When FSDT KSDF is uninstalled; all is fine, no trees. I have contacted the developer, but he has no additional suggestions. At least one other person has reported the same problem with this product. Just wondered if anyone here had any thoughts. ........ I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed in the overall quality level of most (not all) payware aircraft I have bought. I think we still don't have a lot of choices and there seems to be a lot of lesser known developers in the space at the moment, and a lack of names that can be trusted for consistent quality. The Just Flight Arrows and Warrior are great - zero complaints. I'm also pleased overall with most aspects of the quality of the Sim works CH701, although feel it's overpriced for what it is. The IRIS J160/170 is quite good overall but let down in some areas of texturing, and in the lack of some immersive sounds (doors opening, some switches, sound cha…

Greetings all, I started with Flight Sim 95, then 98, and got as far as '02 before I bit the bullet and got my PPL. I haven't flown now for ten years and would like to get back into simming. I'm trying to re-educate myself as to how to approach this as I have to start from the ground up. I guess I'd rather go the PC route than the Xbox in spite of the cost. MSFS over XPlane, methinks. I had the CH yoke and pedals before and am thinking the same again although I like the Honeycomb. At any rate, if I go the PC route what specs would you folks recommend? After opting out of the beta and updating to the latest version I discovered that I have two community and two official folders, one in the original directory (local cache/packages) and one in the root directory. The ones in the root directory are the active ones. So far, everything seems to be working fine but I‘m wondering if anybody else experienced this and if it might cause problems.

I have recently upgraded to the latest patch. I am only able to fly in real weather and real time. I can't select any preset in the sim and I can't adjust the time. Is this me or are others having this problem? Thanks in advance, Joe

When in the plane when taxing, all of the lines at about 100 feet in front of my plane are blurry, whether its the taxi line, center line..... all my scenery and such are just fine. just the lines at the airports. Did i mess with the wrong setting

So I just bought EDDT Berlin (on an impulse) via ORBX Central. It is from Gaya Simulations who I respect as a developer and wanted a good German airport to fly into (offline and on Vatsim). Kind of miffed that after purchasing I realised this airport is now defunct and the ICAO code EDDT isn't recognised in Simbrief so I can't plan IFR flights to and from the airfield. 😞 My bad for not doing research (?) but in all my years of buying 3rd party airports I've never been sold one that is defunct in real life - I guess the only one that springs to mind is Kai Tak. Flying my beloved Yak18T up the swiss valleys with optional Swiss mesh. There are POI city every mile in lots of locations. Another town. I never have seen anything like that anywhere else.

Folks Firstly, I'm a real pilot, so I know how this should operate in the real world. Is there a fundamental problem with FS2020 with altitude management and baro pressure? If I set an altitude for the autopilot to hold, or climb or descend to, it should do so (hold or acquire the selected altitude) regardless of the baro pressure that I set. However, the sim appears to climb, descend or hold the altitude that I dialed in at the outside baro pressure - not the baro pressure that I set. I have just watched a tutorial video as to how to use 'Flight Control Replay' in MSFS 2020. The presenter shows a clip of the drone camera in a static position at the side of the runway, which allows you to view the plane landing from that chosen position. What the presenter does not do, is tell you how to make the drone static. I have looked at the various keyboard and Xbox controller options, and cannot see one that makes the drone static. I am sure there is a simple solution - so would appreciate any help from the community.
