Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

When re installing MSFS, I pointed the install to my D drive. And thats were my exe. file is ,along with other files. I also Have this location on my C drive C:\Users\mcduf\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community. Is this normal?. I also have 2 Community folders, one on the link i just posted, and one where i installed one the D drive. So I assumed any addons should go into the Community folder on the C; drive. But that doesn't work. Now when i put them in the Community folder on the D drive, they work. Is the correct way?

The CJ4 by Working Title is the best Bizjet yet made for either FSX, P3D or FS2020 flight sims, I have been waiting a loong time for someone to bring out a bizjet with the avionics working as good as they have managed... I haven't stopped flying it since I installed it. The only gripe I have got though is the 'Rudder Authority', It has almost none. Sure, it yaws immediately when you put in full rudder but if you hold in Full Rudder and keep the wings level then it flies on almost the same track with very little rotational moment. It seems to me that MSFS2020 is not giving the true effect of rudder input as a whole... with some aircraft a bit bet…

I'm one of the tree people checking in after a few months... Are we happy with the current ring of trees around the aircraft that is slightly better than it was? I saw there may be a slider introduced, but I see that no longer appears to be anywhere on the development roadmap.. Am I missing something or is everyone happy with the status quo?

Hello. Does anyone hear ai traffic taxing when inside the FlybyWire 320 cockpit? Big planes pass really near me but they cant be heard. They can when external view. 🙂

I find it hard to taxi at night because even with all lights on, seeing the ground and the yellow line in front of the aircraft is very difficult. On this screenshot, I turned on the taxi and landing lights of my Beechcraft King Air, in exterior view it is perfect. The ground is clearly visible and the yellow line easy to follow: The problem is that it is completely different from the interior view. From the cockpit, no lighting is visible and the yellow line is almost invisible: Did I do something wrong or can it be considered as a bug? Thanks for your help.

I was on a Vatsim flight today from SFO-SBA. Everything was smooth until turning onto the visual for 25 where i got a bandwidth too low warning and said it was switching to offline. I lost pretty much all visuals in the sim. My bandwidth was fine. What could have caused this? It pretty much ruined a very good, smooth experience in the FBW and I had to shut down. Thanks!

Hi All Just a question for anybody who has the F35 thats just been released, I can seem to get any variant past Mach.82 (370 kts), straight and level at FL200 on full after burner, i should be able to hit around 1.4 weight dependent, is any body getting this kind of performance, Air Temp is as per expected Thanks Wayne

Hello Everyone, Well, sorry if this has been covered, as I am sure it has been as I have encountered this once in the past. I fired up the sim after about 3 months did the updates and all and now the ground textures are blurry as hell and look worse than FSX on low settings. I can't remember what was this fix for these? HI, I could use some help figuring out what I am doing wrong. Whenever I start the FBW A32NX from cold and dark I end up without functional nose gear steering. When I start it one the runway, with everything running, this does not happen, so I am pretty sure its me and not the sim. The "separate rudder from tiller" feature is disabled. The Nose Wheel Steering switch on the main instrument panel is on. The hydraulics are on. My hardware controllers are working properly and the rudder moves when I twist my stick. What else should I check? Thanks, Andrew

Forward: 1. Never participated in the beta 2. Not on an Insider Preview 3. Microsoft Store Edition 4. Virus free etc This morning I launched Orbx Central to see if any updates were available and and shocking it couldn't detect any simulator. So I launched MSFS because it's still in my Start Menu (only if I search) and it went to the installation manager portion requiring a 115GB download. The heck? I ALT-F4'ed and went into the Windows 11 apps section and it shows MSFS only taking up 9GBs. (assuming that's my community folder) So just like that my entire installation was removed because?????? I'm over this.. I'm so mad right now.

I've suddenly lost the ability to output sound from MSFS to my desired output - Voicemeeter Banana. I use Voicemeeter to manage multiple outputs at the same time, and it works with all other games and programs. It always used to work with MSFS, too. I've tried restarting the PC, uninstalling and reinstalling Voicemeeter, switching to just headphones or speakers and then back to Voicemeeter, and finally I've tried a full install of MSFS (aaagh). Nothing has worked. MSFS will output sound to the other outputs individually, though. Forgive me if this is answered somewhere and I know live traffic is currently a bit of a mess with lack of departing traffic, but is ga traffic just completely missing at parking for small airports? I fly mostly ga and when I first got the game in aug 2020 my home field (KLOM, near Philly) was bustling with planes. Then, I had weird issues and aerobatic varieties would only show at small fields (sometimes only the jsl plane). I tried to diagnose looking at config files but they would all accurately say they “should” show. Kuttyhunk MA short field ops is fun. This is a real air strip on Kuttyhunk Island off Cape Cod. I have never actually landed on that strip in real life, but I have landed a 206 on floats in Kuttyhunk harbor with "Storming Norman" long since on his last flight. And I have walked this strip admiring Mels skill in landing his 182 with wing extensions for landing there. There are lots of 182 tires piled there, I guess from hard braking, the surface was steel mesh on the sand back in the 80’s when I was there. Here is a 1 minute video of different views of a hop around the pattern.

The SWS Kodiak is my favorite FS2020 plane at the moment. I now have it working perfectly in AirManger with 2 G1000 screens. All the soft buttons and the dials are now hardware driven so it is super easy to use the Knobster to set up flight plans etc. The 4th screen is a touch screen. You do loose 10-12 FPS when popping out the MFD and PFD, but I solved that by making the windowed view a bit smaller on the top 3 screens and I maintain 30fps no problem even on my old system and mostly Ultra settings. I also use Navigraph as can be seen upper left and Track IR. This makes running the G1000's much easier they stay put and stable, even when looking around.…

As I'm sure everyone already knows, the procedurally (or AI) generated airports sometimes leave a bit to be desired when it comes to taxiways and parking, especially now that several AI flight addons are available. Case in point: MUHG, Holguin, Cuba/Frank Pais International Airport. Most of the taxiways do not have center lines. Only one taxiway is named. The parking is, to put it mildly, weird. I chose to fly into this airport during my around the world tour because several years ago the better half and I went on our first Caribbean vacation at a resort north of that airport. Are the panels on the liveries of this bird all the dark colour? I much prefer a lighter shade of panel colour and a couple of pics I have seen seem to indicate this, unless it was the sun shining on it. Thanks in advance.

Hello, a question please if someone can give me advise. I use three monitors but the center is my main. When I click with the mouse on one of the secondary monitors my main monitor is flashing. Also when I click back on the main monitor again it flashes. Any advise please?

Hi all Has anybody been able to narrow down the cause of the J35 ctd,I really love this jet and it only seems to be happening with this plane, happens virtually everytime I use it, last time I was just flying along touching nothing and straight to ctd, I was in the cockpit looking forward touching nothing,on the latest NVIDIA drivers, the developer tends to point the finger at asobo but I'm just not sure yet. I just started up MSFS and was presented with an "update" screen. It said my "update" would be about 120GB. I looked in the MSFS folder and virtually all of the program files were missing! What happened? Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I have encountered a situation involving ILS frequencies that I don't know how to handle. At Portland Int'l, (KPDX), the ILS frequency for both runway 10L (IVDG) and 28R (IIAP) is 111.30. And on the other runway, 10R (IPDX) and 28L (IJMJ), it is 110.50. According to the World Map, and the data in LittleNavMap, all four of these ILS transmitters have DME and a 3% glide slope. When making an approach to runway 28R in the TBM930, I set the Nav1 radio to 111.30, but the VOR it is picking up is IVDG, for Runway 10L, not IIAP which is the one I want. I tried pushing the BC button on the autopilot panel, and that makes the course pointer needle on the VOR point the correct di…

Lately when I load an aircraft (aerosoft crj for example) and inputting data on the FMS, the game suddenly crashes. Sometimes it does it right away, other times during flight when you are trying to view something. Once you click on the button, the game hangs and crashes.

The new Raptor which has become available at flightsim.to, I've been unable to use it. I don't get any response from the control surfaces, whether in the cockpit view or looking from the outside. I have trouble thinking it would only be used on autopilot, is there something I'm missing? EDIT - sorry, at first I was thinking this was a plane included in one of the updates, sorry.

HI, I'm trying to bind my GPS to a button when Iook in controls I see different Nav's but GPS can someone please tell which I can select so that when a press the button which is selected for the GPS it will auto select and display GPS and the aircraft will follow the planned GPS route. Thank you
