Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Hi, often when I am en route my fraps drop from 30-40 to 15-20. I am using a RTX 3090 with i9-10850k. I set my Terrain Level of Detail to 400 and as I wrote usually I get 30-40fps. However, after a while it drops and when I set Terrain Level of Detail to 200 I barely gain my 30-40fps back it stays at pretty low fps. I am not sure if this has something to do with MSFS or with my GPU settings. Since I have the feeling that my GPU is throtteling back even it's not overheated. Just spotted there's an update on the SimSkunkWorks (Fiat G.91 and TF-104G dev) website saying That's definitely not good news as the G.91 and TF-104 were top notch planes. Hopefully whatever problem are behind this (and I have NO interest in what they are) can be resolved and work begin again. -- Edit -- just to avoid any possible confusion this Sim Skunk Works creators of the Fiat G.19 and TF104G military aircraft NOT Sim Works Studios creators of the Quest/Dahler Kodiak who I hope are doing just fine.

I suddenly can't engage the approach mode on my G1000, I can push the button but nothing happens. All of the other things work AP, ALT, NAV.

I fly a lot in the UK, my home country, and so get rather frustrated when I see lots of trees on the hills surrounding my local area, such as the Mendip hills and Dartmoor. Then there are places further afield such as The Lake District, where I would really like to remove some of these trees from the tops of mountains. I found a single video on YouTube that gives a very shallow overview of how to do this, but it seems to assume the viewer has a certain knowledge of working with the scenery designer in MSFS. Have noticed in a few locations (mainly in the US) - around NY JFK airport and also next to Portland airport have been getting what looks like flooded/corrupted scenery (basically at the river/seas edge looks like there is building or structures but they appear to be sitting in a covering of water) - just wondering what might be causing this and how to fix it? (note around JFK I have no payware scenery although I have a payware for Portland airport that is not to far from the "corrupted" river shoreline.........................

The Kodiak 100 comes with about 160 liveries. I fly, at most, a couple. There are 4 aircraft variants & each has around 40 liveries. If I go into MSFS Scenario Set Up: Profile/Content Manager/Installed, I find 1 entry for the whole Kodiak package. I only fly the Tundra/Cargo Box so is there any way to remove/disable the other 3 variants & thereby disable around 120 liveries, I don't use? T45

So this seemed like a no-brainer, and I have been haunting the HCS forums for a while lurking around to see if this might become a thing. The answer is yes!

Just curious, for those that fly in VR and fly airliners such as the FBW, CRJ, etc., how do you manage all of the things you need to do in the FMC, or any other things within the flight deck that you need to click with your mouse, keyboard, or any other switches? To me it seems like VR would only be possible for flying planes that pretty much just require stick, rudder and throttle. Thanks!

It could very well be I'm missing something, but I have this weird issue with all my Carenado plaes (Mooney, Seneca and Skymaster). None of the checklists show. When I select the checklist by clicking the icon in the top menu the window appears, but it's totally empty. Anyone have any ideas what's going on?

From their website news: " Premium: We have heard your calls for an optional premium membership without ads and long waiting times and are already working on implementing this." I do not critizise this and they have it well deserved to make some money (for a hopefully reasonable price for us). But I find it always "funny" if first download speeds will be throttled and ads would be placed to offer some month later ad free and fast premium membership. I doubt that there where many "calls for a premium membership" 😉 I hate marketing speech, maybe that is it then.

If your taking a hit turn off raytracing - its not that much different with it on but makes menu navigation and sim snappier - seems back to normal again after turning raytracing off Oh man full moon at night make sim looks great - not fan of looking at a black non existent environment - real or not - boring to me 🙂

... as the title says. All other sounds incl. music work. I had my ATC sound permanently off the last few weeks, now I wanted to activate it again, but can't get any ATC sound. In the Sound menu, voices are set to 100%. The ATC Text-To-Speech is on AZURE. The Assisted ATC option is ON but doesn't produce sound either. Do I miss an important setting?

Does it matter what server you are using MSFS on? I'm in the US but i show the following right now: US East - 25MS US west - 50MS North Europe - 88ms west Europe - 105MS Asia - 212ms (but has a red dot next to it) I am thinking, but could be wrong, that my blurry textures, and triangular shapes, etc could be because I am on US Easts server? Should I go to Asia even though I am in the US? I have a 200 mb connection here. I am just trying to figure out how to get my sim looking like the videos and pics I have seen out there.

Hi everyone. I am extremely frustrated. Sorry if this post gets long but I need help. You can see from my signature that I have a beefy machine. Now I have played and played for weeks, trying dozens and dozens of configurations for VR. Let me clarify my problem: it is NOT FPS. I am at the point where I can get anywhere from 30-55 FPS depending on where I try to fly. Developer mode always just says 'Limited by Main Thread'. Fine, I understand that. I wonder if it is possible to somehow connect 2 PCs to show the views inside the airplane to two pilots? I'm thinking about having a student pilot flying and a flight instructor sitting on the other seat and following the actions.

Can I? Is any window for this? Something like Ctrl+F11 in Active Sky for P3D (Weather report from current METAR) with direction of wind, temp etc? I use real weather and on this info I have only big text REAL WEATHER, thats all. Befor the flight I can see direction of wind only on map editor. During the flight I dont know any tool to check the weather. Example: So any idea? Thank You!

Hi all, Have MSFS but haven't really made the switch yet - still using FSL/PMDG aircraft in P3D v4 an 5. What is the deal with weather? As far as I can tell, there is no historical weather which is a bit of a deal-breaker for me, as I plan flights and often fly them later. Is Hifi still developing Activesky for MSFS?
