Going into Belize last night, I see the appraoch runways X Y and Z. I understand they designate different appraoch types. But then what types are X Y and Z and which to select when ?

I guess my difficulty with the ultralights in the game is getting the trim right. I also see my trim wheel is reversed on the ultralights. Is that because the propella is in the rear pushing the plane ? Also how do I assign views to the 3rd party ultralights ? CTRL-ALT-0 for examples. Seems the is now way to create a custom cockpit view with some third party aircraft

It is not clear to me, from a pilot's use (capabilities) viewpoint, how the payware PMS GTN 750 and TDS GTN750Xi compare, and how these units differ capabilities wise to what the RXP GTN750 can do in P3D. I understand the PMS and TDS units are dealing with severe limitations imposed by MSFS, so I'm not criticizing them in any way, I just would like to get an understanding from users of these GTNs in MSFS of what does and does not currently work. I can then make some comparisons to the RXP P3D unit I am familiar with so I can make a more informed decision on what I want to do (e.g., purchase one of the GTNs for MSFS, or just wait for now and stay with the G1000NXi which wo…

French development studio AzurPoly, who created the BD-5J, has announced a new aircraft. After the unusual BD-5J, AzurPoly is now working on the Fouga CM.170 Magister, one of the first jet-powered French airplanes. 😍 https://flightsimactu.fr/azur-poly-annonce-le-fouga-magister-cm170/

Hello, Using Fs 2020, I would like to turn around a very small old city (over a hill). Icon A5 is too fast ... What is the slowest plane available in FS 2020 (Deluxe Edition) ? Should I consider buying an ultralight machine - if so, what would be your choice ? Thanks in advance.

Have tried LIVE traffic and AI Traffic. Set density to 100%. Flown around Heathrow for 15 minutes in a little Cessna, hear ATC chattering but I see nothing in the air or moving on the ground. I know its Sunday but don't they still fly? Is it broken? Cheers

Here is La Tour-du-Pin airport created by Claude Roure. The La Tour-du-Pin/Cessieu aerodrome, between Grenoble St Geoirs to the south and Lyon Saint Exupéry to the northwest, has a grass runway 12/30 of 560x60. Activity: ULM (the UL2V club is the largest in Rhône-Alpes), gliders, model aircraft (note: another mod exists on the web, but it does not conform to reality). https://www.simvol.org/en/downloads/airports/la-tour-du-pin

I just wanted to post a little about all the fantastic freeware strips that some contributors have made for MSFS. Windhover (from the WT team) has made a few recently...especially I'd like to point out Vashon Island 2S1, a favorite of mine (and many others) from FSX era. He's also done many other small airport "gems" across the USA. https://flightsim.to/profile/Windhover/uploads Wookie042 has done a bunch of small strips mostly in the San Juan Islands area, and some additional strips in Montana, Idaho, and California: https://flightsim.to/profile/Wookie042/uploads Quelcertoleo has done some nice standalone PNW airports (see mostly pages 3 and 4 o…

I don't know how to make a request to Asobo, but for anyone that will, ask that they put the date of the update in the label.. It now just says "installed" and the size.. And be able to sort by this date. Thanks Roy

I had the experience today where i was making a fairly short flight using the 787, so I set an altitude into the autopilot of 20,000 feet, and then activated the VS so it would climb to that. Partway up, I decided that maybe that altitude would be too high for the distance I was covering, so I changed it to 15,000. But the plane kept climbing right past that and leveled off at 20K. I can't imagine that a real world pilot cannot easily change what is set into the system, especially to deal with instructions given by the controllers. Is there an item I'm overlooking in getting the plane to hold a different altitude than the one originally set?

from: https://forum.pmdg.com/forum/main-forum/general-discussion-news-and-announcements/157360-11jan22-happy-new-year-probably-let-s-get-started Captains,Welcome to 2022!All of us at PMDG are happy to shove 2021 into the same containment box that we have used to dispose of 2019 and 2020- and we hope you will join us in celebrating the new year as we dump the entire contraption down the chute and into the burn pit for proper disposal. (Yes, we do carbon recapture on the burn pit. We are very environmentally conscious here at PMDG! )All kidding aside, it seems like just a few weeks ago that I opened 2021 (or closed 2020, i can't recall which post it was) pointin…

Due to a few things going on, I haven't played MSFS in a couple months, maybe 3. I tried today and I started just by checking my controls in the options menu. Many of the items didn't appear as active when I selected them on the alpha and bravo ALTHOUGH later it appears they worked in flight. But then I went back to try to update / change controls but none of them would save. I've searched the Microsoft forum and YouTube as well as a general internet search with no success. The only thing I can find is to uninstall and reinstall entirely which I'd rather not do, especially since I can't determine if that will solve the specific issue I'm having. Does anyone el…

I have an ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q Gaming Monitor - 27" 2K WQHD (2560 x 1440) IPS, overclockable 165Hz, G-SYNC™ . While everything works great and smooth from 48fps and over, any frame rate below 48 ( from 30-40fps especially) start to be not smooth with a short of micro-stuttering. I noticed that many users have locked their fps to 30 and have great smooth results which i never so far experienced that result. I have a true G-sync monitor with 1-144mhz Variable Refresh Rate Range, so i am still trying to understand where is the issue. thanks

Is anyone else sick and tired of waiting until 7:12 PM EST to fly so live weather actually works??? Is live weather going to never work for 72 minutes every day from now to eternity??? Over the course of a century, that's 2,629,800 unplayable minutes. Every day the game is unplayable for exactly 5% of the day.... but I paid 100% retail price, I didn't pay 95%. Where's my 5% rebate since I can only use the product 95% of the time?? ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I feel a bit bad for the C337 which was launched and then disappeared under all the Twotter posts. I'll admit it wasn't love at first sight but I'm finding myself exclusively flying the Milviz Porter, the Kodiak and this. Its great to fly, sounds great, looks great - surely this is the best Carenado yet?

I had been enjoying FS2020 so much, flying the excellent FBW A20N. I have the development version I had adjusted my Joystick L-Axis Y sensitivity setting to -30% per their recommended settings. My landings were wonderful. A slight tug on the yoke and a perfect flare and thus a perfect landing almost every time. But, then something changed after a FBW update. I rechecked my settings in FS2020 and nothing had changed there, but now, when landing, that slight tug (in fact, any tug) will send the airplane drastically nose up which, then of course, I try to correct and that sends the plane drastically nose down and...well...those landings, which were so wonderful are now…

I think I read RT Online traffic is created by linking to FlightAware as its real-time data source. If this is not correct stop here and ask a moderator to close the thread! When I go to FlightAware.com, choose departure and arrival airports, I see how many minutes until departure. Then a status update when the plane is taxiing to the runway. Then the next status update when the plane has taken off. You can look at the overhead map and zoom in to see your flight's position in the airport. But it does not move when the plane starts taxiing. So I wonder is this why we're not seeing takeoffs, because they do not get enough data from FlightAware.com to get from gat…

Volumetric clouds have become a huge performance hog since the latest update, am I the only one who has experienced it? I have to change from Ultra to High to keep frame rates in check.
