Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Few questions on how to set up the autopilot panel for take off: What speed do I put in the window? V2 or something else? If I'm flying a SID do I arm LNAV/VNAV prior to departure or once airborne? If I'm flying vectors onto a SID, do I just have runway heading enter / heading select armed? What if I'm supposed to make a turn immediately after take-off? Should I dial in that heading or wait until airborne? What should I use for vertical guidance? Any info would be much appreciated.

I wonder, since the shadows in msfs2024 is a bit blurry even in 2048, I have tried to change the resolutin in user.opt cfg to 4096, but there is no change in the sim, still reads 2048... (but i reads 4096 in user.opt cfg...) What am I doing wrong? Regards Per

Hi guys, Where can I find the manuals for Carenado aircraft, I have looked in all the usual places. Specifically, how to complete the walkarounds (or not if I want to just jump in and fly) to remove chocks, covers etc which prevent me from starting?

I have installed the SDK for MSFS 2020 and I am going to add some objects to an existing airport. I think the safest thing to do is to back up the existing information. I found 5 bgl files that cover that airport. Should I backup all 5, or is there only 1 that is pertinent to the objects? Thanks. John

Hello guys, I am wondering if it is still possible (MSFS 24) to edit the standard camera POV via the .cfg file? For some aircraft i dont really like the vanilla settings (too far back for example.) and would like to edit them to my liking. Any tipps on how to it in MSFS 24? Best regards Tom

The airport lighting at night around the terminals is basically non-existent in msfs 2020. I could hardly see around the gate area. I found an add-on (the andres3d -airports-lights) but it has only about 120 airports. I am new to 2020, so I am just wondering if there are any other alternatives to this? Thanks. John

Am I thinking alonmg the right lines here? Along with Ultra clouds, TLOD and OLOD, texture resolution is probably one of the biggest performance hits in MSFS2024. Am I correct in assuming that Ultra might be 4k, High may be 2k and medium could be 1k? If that were the case, would there be any point in using Ultra texture resulution if you are running on a 2k monitor or am I wide of the mark here?

Using Shift + WASD I find it's impossible to center character layout in a HUD, for example. Is there any way to decrease the amount moved w/ each keypress?

I'm basically a big fan of 2024. I still have a full 2020 setup on my system but I don't use it much anymore, having pretty much fallen for 2024 since the first week it became available. I grimaced my way through the new menus, controls setups and the whole streaming/my library thing and am now at the point where I feel uncomfortable trying to use 2020 as I've gotten used to the 2024 way of doing things. Hi, As the title says, I'm wondering if anyone has any payware recommendations for HECA in MSFS 2024? I attempted a flight from there this afternoon, but for me, the airport is unusable. Massive elevation/terrain issues make taxiways and runways unusable. Regards, Scott

1st can't find a manual. 2nd Can Sky4sim run on another computer other than the FS2020 computer. Like Little navmap and Navigraph? If so how? Trying to take some of the burden off FS2020 computer. Thank You. Bill McCracken

Well my own fault I suppose .... I've had 2020 on Gamepass since release and while I enjoyed playing the odd game 2020 was my main reason for Gamepass .... I had Gamepass only on PC and with todays changes and price increase it not really viable which leaves me with the 2 options.... My main problem is that I have ( stupidly ) purchased a fair bit of content on the MS Store for 2020 and not much of it is available on 2024 The main question is that if I purchase 2020 through the MS Store will the content I purchased while on Gamepas still be available ? Anyone knows why Asobo don't make use of the latest DLSS DLL's ? They still ship it with 310.1 while the latest is 310.4 Is it something they need prepare the sim to support ? Are there downsides to manually replace them ?
