Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Hay Fellows This is most frustrating. Since Sim Update to Version 7, Sim freezes exactly at Rwy/Airport selection 1. I tried all Forum Guidance. Failed 2. MS store MS Gaming services and XBOX Reinstall/Update. Failed 3. Windows 10 update, Sync with MS Servers, Language etc. Failed 4. Community Folder Empty all along. Failed. 5. Start Sim from updated XBOX APP. Failed 5.Start Sim in Safemode. Failed 6. Start Windows in Diagnostic mode. Trying to find my way around painting liveries for this sim. How do you guys (or gals) see your work as you progress ? I have to load the sim, go into an airport and go to outside view to see what I have changed. I cannot get the Hangar to work anymore so in sim outside view is it and it takes forever.

The first time I installed MSFS it took about 5 days. The second time, after my entire install simply disappeared, it was a little faster at 3 days (servers not as busy?). Ten days ago my hard drive failed and I've been forced into rebuilding my machine with a new drive. Priority One: get Windows installed, activated and updated. Done. Priority Two (should be work stuff, right?): install MSFS. 😅. It's been running for two hours and managed to install 344 MB. In TWO hours. I ran a speed check (with MSFS installed paused): network is fine and speed is where it should be. Microsoft servers? At this rate I should be able to fly again just before Christmas. 🙈🙉🙊

Does anyone have an idea of how much this might cost? It doesn't look like it will be inexpensive, haha.

I have been flying the MS default King air and have masters it pretty good apart from one issue. The autopilot buttons do not have any LED indicators when a button is engaged and the MFD also has no on screen info when you engage a system. I have had a few occasion where the NAV has disengaged for what ever reason and there is no audible warning. I note that in most on line tutorials the hover mouse comes up with on screen messages telling you that it is active or otherwise but I must have disabled mine in my attempt to stop the onscreen assist boxes appearing in the middle of the screen and even going in and resetting everything back on I still cant get my mouse-over to …

Returning to Flight Sim and I purchased online for a digital download. According to this, not only do I have to pay for the game but I have to sign up for Xbox Game Pass for $9.99 per month? For some reason after one of the updates I can only get one outside view in the hangar. I cannot move around in that one outside view even if I use the Dev camera.

I saw MSFS as being in the list of latest games being supported, but can't find much information regarding this inside their G-Hub software. Does anyone know if it relates to keyboard, mouse, or perhaps just devices like the radio panels and stuff?

Hello simmer I was wondering how accurate VFR navigation is in sim timing wise. I am PPL student and we do navigation flights with 1:500,000 chart. How accurate are timings in sim compared to real life? Is it possible to calculate leg times like in real world? To sum it up pretty much is real world GS same as Sim GS?

Hey there I have been using VKB-Sim T-Rudder Pedals Mk.IV without any kind of issues! A couple of days ago I have purchased Thrustmaster TPR Rudder Pedals (about 500 US-Dollar). Installed MSFS on drive D and it worked fine but it also installed parts of it including another community folder on drive C. How can I just get to one Community folder ?

It automatically adjusts your performance to increase battery life on your computer. So if your desktop PC is running off of a storage battery instead of pluged into the A.C. mains, this may be a nice feature. Also for laptops. Otherwise not so much. I don't yet see a way to turn this 'wonderful' feature off. But there may be a way. A 78 yo Fs friend of mine has the issue since today that when loading MSFS he is getting the following message : He has tested his IN which shows 300 mb and has done several tests with his provider . Changing the ac or Disableing all Data did not help. When clicking OK to load the airport/ac it simply hangs. Anyone has an idea what’s going on here and how to solve this ? I have a route created in Little Navmap saved as a pln. When I load it in MSFS it looks fine on the home Map screen, but when I see the same flight plan in G1000 NXI it has weird waypoints going in unrealistic directions. Any ideas as to why.

Okay so after my less than satisfactory return to MSFS discovering the save/load falls over with the default 747 (see separate thread) thought I would try something a bit shorter. Namely a quick flight from Cardiff to London City in an A320. First problem was, on going to the flight planner neither the original default A320 or the FBW version appeared in the drop down list of aircraft. After going into my profile and doing a search of owned aircraft I was able to access the FBW one but not the default. (Which is handier if you just want a quick flight). So has the default A320 been retired in favour of the FBW or if not, how do I get it to re-appear in my list o…

Not sure when this started but not all that long ago, I get shimmering in metro areas from certain angles only--shortly after TO when lower to the ground. I believe this wasn't happening nearly as much a while back, so I'm checking to see what factors impact this. I read gamma correction off helps, but I'm already off there. I'm not sure if an SU changed anything but it may have.

I haven't noticed this is tutorials, forgive me if I've missed it. What do ya'll do in regard to installing flightplans? How much is too much?

I don’t know if I did something wrong but when I select the pilot camera the view is shifted to the right past the center almost at the copilot position. I assume it is a fixed camera. I found out that if I press crl+9 I get the right pilot camera but it can’t be saved. It is very annoying because when I switch from external view to cockpit view I ended up sitting in the middle of the cockpit. Anybody have this issue or have a solution for this problem ? Hi all I was wondering for those that use Google maps for the ground textures, when flying at night do you notice the ground textures are brighter and lighter compared to Bing? I would imagine at night time the ground would seem a lot more darker and black.

Since the last update (1.15.7), I can't use my right mouse button anymore to view around in the cockpit or external view. I tried several options, but without success. Anybody who can help me to solve this problem? Thanks, Mart

I do not use an internal CACHE of any kind. That statement put out, and while I wish to use and enjoy MSFS in a 'G' scenery config, I noticed that the much better and colored roads, ---->highway, secondary, tertiary, had a weird mixture of the much better looking (with lane lines and oil spots, car truck imprints) of 'G', over Bing (native) with its thin cream colored lanes and not the concrete/asphalt colors of my 'G' config.... I had roadways and highways that had segments of the native BING roadway graphics and textures included with the 'G' textures.
