Any advice for running DX12? The first thing I found was a recommendation to turn-off exploitation protection, but does anyone else have any other tips? Before Christmas I ran MSFS quite smoothly in DX11 having found DX12 reduced performance for no apparent gain. But I changed my ancient 1080 monitor for a new 1440 freesync screen and found DX12 practically doubled my frame rates but introduced loads of stutters (especially at low level). I also updated video drivers but had to go back as the latest Nvidia drivers appear to include hashrate limiters. I've also upgraded to Windows 11 ( but that doesn't seem do you have made any difference to anything other than…

Hello, I'm trying to bind keys to reset the master warning and caution alarms on the TBM930. In the Flight Instrumentsoptions there are setings for Toggle Master Warning/Caution, Set Master Warning/Caution and Master Caution/Warning On and Off. I've tried all of these without success. Anyone can help? Thanks in advance

  3. Love the Twin Otter. Just flew across the Ocean from KIZG Fryeburg ME USA, to ESSB Stockholm Sweden. It was in a few hops done in real time WX. Lots of icing on the way but we made it. A really cool thing in FS2020 is the speeding up of the sim to 16X real time, so the boring legs go by quickly but you get to view the beatiful scenery and atmosphere just faster. The Otter is a perfect plane for this as well as VFR down low in tight spots. Now I will be exploring Europe a bit in the Otter. Here are the hops:

  6. Here's the link: https://fselite.net/content/aerosoft-considering-future-airbus-for-msfs/ (THE LINK TO THE ACTUAL FORUM POST IS IN THE ARTICLE) I was surprised by this move. Personally, I found his take on the market to be a little weird and how he thinks study level airplanes won't sell that well. Also, we really don't need another A320. I would like to see them add more features to the CRJ and Twotter before they even consider anything else.

Hi, I have a boxed (DVD) version of MSFS but currently do not have a suitable PC to run it on (waiting out to see if the situation with GPUs etc gets better lol). And now I got a temporary PC which is with me for a week or so before I will have to pass it over to the client so I thought I may use it for a bit of flying meanwhile. The question is, will it be OK licence-wise? (I will of course remove all traces of it before giving away the PC) As I understand, the licence is tied to Microsoft account so it seems to me this should be fine, but a bit afraid if it will be ok later when I get my own gaming machine.

  8. Randazzo just posted this: I think PMDG is taking the smarter route here. For a business, they want to maximize their total profit, and raising the price can lead to fewer units sold. In addition, a user asked Randazzo if the PMDG 737 would be under $100 back in October of last year. Randazzo responded to this user on the question if the PMDG 737 would be under $100: Personally, I am going to guess a price that is roughly between $70 to $80. But of course, I would always welcome a lower price than that 😄.

  9. Just curious, do u really have to overclock for FS 2020 ? I know when using FSX, it was all about overclocking. U can see my specs in my sig. I only bring this topic up, cause yesterday as I was making a flight from KFLL to KORD, when I was on final, all of a sudden everything came to a hallt, and that was the end of my flight. Yes, I was , frustrated have heard these stories since FS 2020 came out. I scratched my head, cursed a few words, I think I have a decent computer, been simming for quite a while, Anyway, should I overclock, Yes or No Currently I am overclocking at 4.8ghz Please give me ur thoughts, now since FS 2020 has been out for about a…

I have been using REX WF for a while now but I cannot seem to get the setting correct. It loads the weather fine and extremely accurate compare to MSFS. I have tried different interval setting but none seem to work. When it does refresh the weather the FPS drops and I have to stop and restart it again and the FPS come back up. Wild circle....ANy ideas?

20FEB22[ Put this on your calendar for 26FEB22 Today, 03:26 Captains, As we near product releases, I generally receive a number of interview requests from various streamers/pod-casters/organizations that I eschew in part because I have traditionally been a very private person, and in part because I am certain there are many folks who are far more interesting to listen to than me. For a good portion of the years in which I have run PMDG, I have also been involved in or otherwise held official capacities that were important to keep separate from my "PMDG Hobby" as they wouldn't appreciate me generating any sort of interest from soc…

I recently upgraded my PC. My old specs are in my signature. Not being a very technical person, could my old PC, or components such as the GPU be used together with my new PC? If that is possible, what would the benefits of running 2 PC"s be, or 2 GPU's be, etc.? Or would it just be better to sell some of the components? My old system is still pretty good so I don't want to let it go to waste. Sorry for the dumb question!

I'm pondering about buying this newly released SBRJ MSFS scenery https://secure.simmarket.com/paulo-ricardo-santos-dumont-airport-(sdu)-rio-de-janeiro-city-(de_15904).phtml The airport looks great and I think Paulo Ricardo has a good reputation in the community. Here are some questions, notably to early customers from the perspective of a VFR pilot: - Does the package include city POIs? From the (many) screenshots I get the impression that's the case. - Does it work with the Rio Scenery by MSScenery available from Simmarket, too? - Any other remarks / suggestions? Thanks a lot and kind regards, Michael

Although it looks rather beautiful, I’m quite surprised how basic the weather, or more specifically, the wind seems to be. We are currently experiencing some quite severe storms here in the UK, so I figured it would be interesting to see if I could survive a flight, with Live Weather, in an ultralight! The take off was interesting as I went airborne going backwards, but once aloft things were just dull. I took the VGP Powersolo up to about 7,000 ft and, apart from the crazy ground speed, there was nothing remarkable about the flight whatsoever. In fact, I could have been on a lazy, tranquil flight on a calm autumn afternoon. I was expecting crazy buffeting, comin…

Hello, I've been using PF3 with MSFS 2020, and for the most part, it has worked very well. However, during an IFR flight (between KSDF & KFFO), with a cruising altitude of 15,000 feet, I kept getting an ATC instruction to maintain 15,000 feet. I was already at 15,000 feet and my barometer was set correctly (pressing the B key). I kept getting the nag from PF3 ATC until I set the barometer to STD (29.92). Once done, the nagging stopped. NOTE: I am using the latest MSFS 2020 beta, which is working very well for me. Of course, the transition altitude is 18,000 in the US. I also checked and set Options 1, Trans ALT & Alt Baro Calls settings correctly by…

Hello all, I am upgrading and building a new pc going from an 7700k, 1070, 32gbs ddr4 to a 12700k, 3080 12gbs, 32gbs ddr5. I have MSFS on its own m.2 drive (970 EVO plus) and will be installing an 980 Pro for the OS. The new board I bought is the ASUS Apex so I can install my mechanical drive, my SSD, as well as the two m.2 drives. My question is since my MSFS is the only thing on the970, do I have to do a complete reinstall or will MS just do its thing when I first start it up.

The president of the aeroclub of Nîmes-Courbessac, Fabrice Voland, created the scenery of the aerodrome to make it true to reality. Located north of Nîmes-Garons airport, the Nîmes-Courbessac airfield has 2 grass runways (always one open and one closed operating alternately) as well as a microlight runway. The terrain is faithfully reproduced and all the private hangars and flying clubs have been modeled. From the parking lot of the Nîmes-Courbessac aeroclub, the 2 starting blocks as well as the one in front of the aeroclub hangar are available. As in reality, in order to respect local residents, pilots must take care to pass west of the town of Margueritte…

  22. Hey dear Avsim Community, my program says, that my path has more or at least 255 characters. When i wanted to move my directory, it worked fine! No problem. A strange one here, when I open the ATC window it will have scrolled all the way to the top, ie to the first ATC transmission for my flight. Also, when hovering the mouse button over any of the ATC selections the outline of the box keeps turning on and off rapidly and I can repeatedly hear the sound that you normally get when you’re mouse is highlighting a selectable option, again it seems like something other than my mouse is trying to do something. It seems like a control conflict of some sort but I have no idea what it could be or where to look. I looked under ATC commands in the control menu but I don’t see anything unusual in there. Any thoughts?

  24. Since ten days ago, always when I activate APR in the 1000Nxi, "GPS" starts to blink, "ROL" is activated and the plane does not follow the localizer/GP anymore. I did not change any settings so I am quite confused. I am using the WT version of the Garmin with the Kodiak. What can I do?

  25. A long time ago I read that Majestic might consider porting their version to MSFS but afaik they aren't working on it yet. Does anyone know about another developer that might be working on a Dash 8-Q400? Even if it won't be study level (right away) I might be willing to get it. I even enjoyed the Q400 in AFS2 so... 😉 I don't know what it is but I absolutely love that plane. I am considering to get the CRJ instead (whenever it gets released) to keep me entertained but well... I'd rather have a Q400 anyway...
