Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I own both and really like both, but I must say the Porter is the funner to fly of the two. I alternate fly “Grasshopper” bush flight on SkyPark so I fly similar flights, but they’re much funner in the Porter. Granted it’s much slower than the Kodiak, but it flies so crisp and the beta in flight makes for exhilarating approaches and landings. Again, if only the Porter were faster in real life, that’s all I’d fly… but for longer jaunts the Kodiak is handy, and a wonderful plane in its own right. Those that have either or both, any thoughts to share?

I can't get Marketplace to work. I want to buy a couple of things but when I click on BUY DOWNLOAD, or BUY, I see a flash of blue that I assume is the next page in the ordering process just for an instant. I then get a notice that says the purchase has failed. I can't buy anything. Anyone else had this problem? Is there another way to buy something that is only available in Marketplace? Thanks

If want something to spice up VFR flights, you might consider worth adding this scenery to your list! We had powerlines pylons, but the wires/cables were missing...now we have them! I read that this product would not only enhance the runways and taxiways, but would also remove the snow from them where snow is present on the ground. It does not appear to remove the snow from them. Anyone tried this product? Their support page does not work either in from the link in the User Manual or from their webpage direct. You get directed to the MSFS Forum and the link there does not work either. Is this a ripoff, or did I misinterpret the description of the product?

This was my favorite GA in earlier versions of FS. Aeroplane Heaven's version for MSFS (Releases July 5). I liked the art deco exterior and interior. A handsome Cessna for sure. Early flyers had no ADF nor VOR and the Radar Range was only in a very very few airports. But by tuning the regular AM broadcast radio mounted in the dash, to a local station and pointing the whole plane towards where there was maximum volume, they now had a bearing (0) but also of course, say 135*. I know this is a known issue, but I was wondering if they are currently working on it. I just did a flight in the FBW from KBOS - KLAX. Takeoff and departure were totally fine, as should be. When I left for a couple of hours for lunch, during cruise and came back, the frames initially dropped while I started fussing around the cockpit, but then stabilized for the remainder of the flight. However, entering the the LAX area, below 10,000 it just became a slide-show. I can normally fly around the LA area without any issues. I fly all the time on ultra and my machine is a 3080 blah blah blah. Im just wondering if anyone knows whats causing this issue and if they a…

I've been looking for some new speakers to go along with my new PC... Something small but good quality. My wife has a JBL Flip 5 so when I set up my new PC, I decided to give it a try. It sounded great, but I noticed there was a lot of "hiccupping (can't think of how else to describe it)" from time to time. When I got close to Chicago and ORD, it happened like every few seconds. When I turned the speaker off and went to the default speakers on my monitor, it didn't happen. So is it safe to say that bluetooth speakers are not the best option to sim with? Or could that popping/hiccupping be something else? Just curios what you all think. Thanks!

I got a new PC and some of my settings didn't translate over. Is there any instruction on there on how to calibrate the hotas warthog for the FBW? I was never able to get the reverse gate to work but I was always able to be at idle on the thrust lever and have it represent idle in the sim. On my new PC, idle on the thrust lever represents full reverse and half way up the lever is idle. Any tips on what I need to do? Is this a EFB thing or a controls setup / calibration type thing? Thanks!

Something funny going on with bush trips (as usual) The ‘ACTIVITIES’ folder and sub-files are always set to ‘read-only’. When I try to remove the restriction it just re-activates it. Any idea what’s going on here?

I see a few people have issues installing flight plans but I wish I got that far! The installation process does not detect MSFS on my system. The FS selection rolldown menu is blank. I have tried with MSFS running or not running and I do run the .exe as administrator. Must the AIG be on the same drive as MSFS? This is not specified in the tutorial. Can anybody help? Thks

I have been using this for over a year now, with no issues. It is used with MSI Afterburner. On my screen I have set GPU temperature and usage, CPU1 temperature and framerate along with the graph line. Yesterday, all this disappeared from the screen! I have looked at the settings in both apps, but I cannot see if a box gas been left unchecked. Can someone help me that uses these apps with MSFS? Thanks Martin

Went live about half an hour ago. Very excited by the CFD elements discussed by Asobo at 2m20s onwards which I wasn't previously aware of; propwash, wake vortex turbulence (not clear if this will affect other aircraft in multiplayer), deep stall will all be simulated natively and said to be easily added to most aircraft. I hope it feels as good as the visualisations look! The prop improvements I already knew about that are coming with SU8 seem to need a bit more input from aircraft developers to be implemented. Curious to get your thoughts but for me with the current storm we have in parts of europe i flew the FBW320 yesterday into EDDH and had strong crosswind but the plane was not evens haking like i would expect it OR like i have when flying with the Storm weather preset.... Always like flying the Md-80 in FSX. Anybody here any news about an Md-80 version coming out in the near future ? Also hope the price is reasonable, unlike the recent MD-11 coming out for $89.99. For an alternative I would even go for Boeing 727 which Captain Sim had in FSX. Let me know ur thoughts

After updating hardware the black load screen crashes with error UCRTbase.DLL Exception code: 0xc0000005... Running the store version and Windows 11 X64 Pro. Hi, would like to know what frames are people with high end machines getting at large airports like KLAX at the gate? My specs are at the bottom and using some AIG traffic, dont have my graphics set to Ultra expect a couple items, and the sliders are set to default. Im shocked at some gates where it faces other gates down the airport in the day and clear weather with the FlyByWire A320 cockpit view I was getting around 13 to 14 frames....YIKES!! Now I turn my head to the left or right and I would get to low to mid 20s. Now my machine is what I would consider a high end PC, but wow...some more optimizations seems to be needed still. Im also still running Nvidia drivers 497…

After a long time decided to try again some VOR navigation and was flying around EPSC (VOR: 114.75). At first I thought that MSFS2020 is maybe a little bit bugged, as I was clearly south of the Airport (knew it because of the cities I were flying over) and had the radial 320 selected on the OBS, but the instrument showed FROM instead of TO. After rechecking if I did everything right and understood the VOR instrument right, I restartet the flight and when I reselected the 114.75 Frequency I already got some weird feeling, that I maybe had 114,50 selected on the flight before...
