Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Now we all know you are supposed to use the community folder to install addon liveries to any planes. But I want to know if the FSX/P3D way still works as well? I would prefer that to keep my file structure more organized, also with some addons like Air Hauler, the community-folder method doesnt work so well since it is not recognizing the custom plane variants. So I tried to manually install a repaint of the Blackbox BN-2 Islander today instead of using the community folder, I copied over the texture folder to the aircrafts base folder and copy-pasted the "flightsim.xx" entry to the aircraft.cfg with the subsequent number, like we all are used to doing it for years.…

wow! from bad to worse! Yesterday I had a decent MSFS, and today, I turn on the computer, and voila: "it's gone". The MSFS is not present. It has just been deleted. Everyone will say: antivirus? Have you downloaded something that you shouldn't have downloaded? and blah blah blah... but the only thing that happens is that MSFS has uninstalled itself. From bad to worse. With the "downgrade" number 9, performance glitch, micropauses and now: it's gone!!! I am more and more convinced that I have paid for a product that exists at times. An unfinished product. And always, in a forum, someone will appear who says: "Well, I'm doing well."

Anyone else that gets flickering in external view when panning around at some airports? it seems like it gets worse in direct sunlight, I have had this problem for a long time with several graphics drivers so I do not think it depends on the driver.

Last week I updated to SU9 and today I updated to the latest NV driver. I did not update the driver for at least 4 months. Geforce Experience installed. When using Alt + F3 to open the overlay filters I am getting the message that This feature only works on a supported game and no Filter menu appears. GF Experience see MSFS. Anyone else remarked this ? Workaround perhaps ?

Hi All, I've flown three flights now since SU9 dropped and I haven't seen a single cloud since then. I certainly should have...live weather flying into KSEA just a few minutes ago. Anybody else seeing this or know how to fix it?

I followed the check list and got the Kodiak started, but when I remove the brakes and apply throttle to taxi, I'm not moving. I must be doing something wrong here. Any ideas? Thanks

I had a small amount of time to conduct a quick flight this morning. It's been just short of six hours getting a simple flight – with the Longitude – into LPPT. When MSFS wasn't crashing the FMS was misbehaving or my keyboard shortcuts stopped working. How long has it been since MSFS was released and Textron waxed lyrical about how perfect their virtual models were? Why on earth do we still have such utter rubbish in this game (yes game, this is in no way a simulation)? On top of that SU9 has been an unstable mess. I've had some great moments in MSFS but at the moment I feel I can quite easily turn my back on it and walk away.

Hi Folks, Anyone else have the error of when you boot up MSFS, on the main screen left of the Globe and Aircraft selection, the Flight Challenge is Greyed out and I can’t select it? I have been trying a number of A320 performance calculators for the FBW A320 neo, including a payware one. They are not all alike in terms of input information, and in some of them input is gathered from the Metar for the airport in use. So, this is not a 100% like for like comparison, but I thought it might be 'community spirited' to share my results. Input is only shown if it was requested, or gathered from the airport Metar. so recently i've been getting back into MSFS (having not really been too interested in it since launch until some good aircraft addons were released) and one problem i had was the sim randomly crashing. it wouldn't give an error message, blue screen, or any other alert, it would simply close and leave me with no clue as to what happened except for application faults listed in Event Viewer. the recorded events would typically list flightsimulator.exe, nvwgf2umx_cfg.dll (part of the Nvidia driver package) or a couple other system-related DLLs. the sim would otherwise run perfectly, sometimes for more than an hour at a time, but the crashing was definitely frequent enough to…

So I have been noticing for a while that my altimeter jumps from one value to another without any apparent reasoning - let me explain. Yesterday, I was at a gate at CYVR starting the FBW A320 from cold and dark. The altimeter was reading 0948 QNH, so I pressed the B button on the keyboard and the value changed to 1021 QNH - shortly afterwards it jumps back to 0948 QNH, so I go through the procedure again and each time it happens which seems to be often. This also happens in other planes such as the Kodiak and I cannot fathom out why or as to what I may be doing wrong. Any thoughts?

Hi guys, Just wanted to share this nice little tool i came across while googling for a Perf Calc: Performance Calculation for AIRBUS (pradz.de) You can chose any of the 320 Family and it works pretty well. I am in no way connected to the publisher, i just wanted to share my finding. So shoutout to the guy over there for his tool! 🙂 Happy simming! So, I just installed this and when prompted, selected slow mode because that’s what the guy who was doing to tutorial did, although they did not seem to know exactly what it did. With 16GB of RAM, I thought it might be safer to choose slow mode as it mentioned something about RAM on the prompt. My question is, does anyone know exactly what Slow Mode does, and if it is possible to change it after installing, or if I would have to reinstall the app. Thanks 🙂

The PFD selected altitude is set at 1900 with a current attitude of 4000. The VNV Target is 1964 which is also ALT for SCENN (faf) in the MFD flight plan. The C172 was at 4000 as it crossed FAVDU, the waypoint 8.0 NM prior to the SCENN (faf). The plane was in GPS & VNAV and VPTH is shown in white on the PFD. The Active Flight Plan / Active VNV profile shows SCENN 1964ft BOD 0.27 The AP never began the descent and overflew the faf at 4,000. I know that white text in the G1000 systems means reference only - NOT used for guidance. But I have no idea why the KTW ILS 17 procedure would generate invalid VNAV guidance. What do I misunder…

Please some help: As everybody already knows SimUpdate 9 is already out...but for some reaason that is beyond my comprehension i dont seem to be able to get or its not available for me...i just dont get it...i go to the marketplace and i dont even see it available...all i keep seeing is Sim Update 9 and thats where it stops...as you can see from my screenshots...and also evertime that i relaunch the sim its the only splash screen that i keep seeing...again and again and again... What am i missing here?...(besides of course the SU9)

On Friday I acquired the MSFS and I don't deny that I've been getting very hooked on it. it turns out that the error (this curse) has occurred since FS9, FSX and P3D that some planes enter the runway but never take off, never receive ATC clearance for take off and after a while they disappear and some traffic lands on the plane that is on the runway and they do not abort the landing and the truth is that I love seeing takeoffs and landings in my airports I have this problem with the AI traffic online and offline. someone has been able to solve this error and it happens to me in almost all airports. can someone help me to solve this error NOTE: some p…

Well I’ve updated to Sim update 9 and MSFS 2020 will not load. I get to the world map screen, select airport and flight plan, hit FLY and it goes to about 95% but never finishes loading. I completely uninstalled and reinstalled and same thing. I've noticed that my community folder is completely empty after the update. Could that possibly have anything to do with this problem. Anyone have any idea’s? Thanks

Captains- Normally on days where I have an update planned, I grab Jason or Vin prior to the end of the day and have them generate a good screen capture to use as window dressing for the update. We were so busy tonight I forgot to grab them before they vanished at the end of the day- so tonight is just a quick update. Hi everyone, even after SU9 I still can't get over this lag spikes. As you can see in the video my sim runs perfectly fine at 30 fps but I experience those spikes where my fps suddenly drop to 13/15, sometimes twice in a row. I tried everything (except reinstalling the game which will be next) but nothing solved it. For context, I have the FPS locked at 30 with game vsync on and the screen rate locked at 60Hz by Nvidia control panel. I have this problem regardless of the graphic settings (even with everything at minimum). Nvidia drivers are updated. Community folder is empty expect for Navigraph.
