Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Twice in the last week MSFS would not start, it would crash to desktop before it would load. I disabled antivirus and renamed community folder to remove those possible reasons. The cure which worked both times was this: Go to my OFFICIAL folder of MSFS and move the folder fs-base-nav out of the OFFICIAL folder and put it in the desktop for safekeeping. Since the servers came back online for me, I have re-started the sim several times, all seems well, but I no longer get the "checking for updates" screen. The opening screen is also different after I click the icon to start the sim. Anyone else notice?

how do i get the offline atc it sounds so much better than the crappy azure one but i can't seem to find it in the options on the sim i can only get it when my sim disconnects from it by itself

I have flown MS Flight Simulator since the DOS version. My current version is FS 2004, I am now interested in acquiring the latest edition. Question: is it available on disc for PC only use? Or is the digital download the only option?

I am starting a thread on this because it is important to me, I don't want to wreck my sim. I try to start MSFS and it tells me I need to update 26GB. I already have SU9 and it runs perfectly. Is anyone else seeing or running this large update which is twice or more as large as SU9 or is this an error by Asobo that will wreck my sim?

As of today I cannot get FBW A320Neo to run anymore. After selecting an airport and parking place the aircraft sits at the selected spot alright but it is not possible to click the yellow "FLY" button to get into action. I haven't got a clue what might have caused this mishap. I did a clean install of FBW A320 and reinstalled from scratch, I uninstalled and reinstalled my NVidia drivers, I started up with an empty (except for the FBW A320) community folder and still no luck. The weird thing is, if I select the stock (Asobo's) A320Neo and select an airport and parking spot all goes well. I got up this morning and after my normal cruise through my websites I decided to take a flight in MSFS. I clicked on the icon and NOTHING, no error message, nothing showed up in Task Manager, just nothing happened. I then checked on all the xBox servers and they showed all up and running and nobody was complaining this morning about not being able to fly so I figure it has to be on my end. I decided to do a trick where you rename the game folder, click uninstall in the xBox app, restore the game folder to original name and the click install again. Fired up MSFS again after a few months abstinence and decided to treat myself to a medium haul flight with the 747-800. Real life intervened so I saved the game to resume another time. Rather dismayed to find the flakey save/load still persists. Autopilot off on resume and even after re-engaging could not get LNAV to re-engage. Cycled on and off several times to no avail. The FMC data was still present though I know in the past that has failed to restore and I presume can still be an issue. I find it amazing after 18 months such a fundamental feature is still broken. Would you believe that until early this morning I was actually unaware of the Salty Project ? I could I ? I finally got MSFS to start up, and it says that I have a large update. Anyone else see this. ? It says it is 30 GB. What hell is going on.

Hi everyone, I'm enjoying flying this amazing aircraft but have noticed that I get very little authority on the rudder at low (ie: below 300 KIAS) speed. The rudder pedals move ok but there is no animation on the rudder surface itself (ever). Wing structures work just fine in animation and flight control. Has anyone else noticed this? Cheers Warwick

Even though I park the airplane at a gate, the plane isn't completely cold and dark. The batteries are already on, i.e., the white "off" lights aren't showing. What am I doing wrong?

I was wondering if anyone knew why when I taxi, no matter the aircraft, it always speeds up to around 25-30 knot GS and I always taxi at idle because of this. In an aircraft like the FBW A20N, I start by adding just a hair of power when taxiing from the gate and then immediately bring it back to idle, and after 15 seconds or so, it has sped up to 25-30 knots on ground speed. I was wondering if there was a fix to this. I use the Thrustmaster Airbus yoke and quadrant.

Hi, I didn't do anything to upgrade. When SU9 was available, i thought that launching the game would start the upgrade process. But each time i try to launch the game since SU9 is available, the PC is totaly frozen after 30 seconds, no mouse or Kb reaction and the only issue is to reset the machine. I till had MSFS crash (but not Windows cash) after Su7 and had to reinstall the game from the scratch. I had another MSFS crash no related with any upgrade a few monthes before and till had to reinstall anything. When i check my applications, Windows says 1.25.7.0 is installed since 26/4/2022. I tried to repair the installation but this had no effect. …

Hello, Whenever I attempt to download the flight plans for any airline it asks me to unzip a file which is meant to be downloaded automatically to my computer, but no suck file shows up in my downloads folder. Has this happened to anyone else, and if so how can I fix it?
