Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Anyone knows which function to map. I have tried Primer 1 and 2 without luck.

I was a beta tested and bought MSFS the day it came out. Besides some fun VFR flying, I quickly dropped MSFS and went back to P3D as only really fly airliners. PMDG, QW787, et etc. With the release of the PMDG, I reinstalled MSFS and am now trying to learn (relearn) the sim. One of the mind boggling issues when I initially used MSFS was the lack of camera controls -- OR, the complete difficulty of doing so. Chaseplane in P3D is so good and easy to use. Are there any 3rd party programs for MSFS now? I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to get wing views set up with shortcut keys. .. around your home airport, as I was.. try turning off your Rolling Cache as a test. For me, the messages stopped. 🙂 Why, I do not know.. corrupted cache? Timing issues with MS servers? I have no idea.

Not all 3rd party aircraft will record entirely properly because "The thing is: not every aircraft (specifically third party aircraft) adhere to those "simulation variables" (which is really how external applications such as Sky Dolly "communicate" with FS 2020, via the official SimConnect API which exposes those "simulation variables"). " So the default A320neo records properly, not sure with the FBW. Etc.

The PMDG 737 comes with a few default in cabin views, but they only show up under SHOWCASE and not cockpit. I would like to somehow bind those so that I can freely pan and zoom while in those views. I was able to do it using the FBWA320. But forgot how it was done.

I have the alpha and bravo. I cannot get any of the switches to work. Has anyone had any luck? Exterior lights on the alpha, for example, on the dedicated switches. Landing gear was loaded in the default but it acts weird. have to put it down twice for the gear to actually go down..... assume this has something to do with the in-flight position of the lever handle in the cockpit.... even thought the lever goes all the way to the down or up position with the movement of the gear handle on the Bravo.

For me personally, I'm just waiting on one more plane to come out - the Hondajet...err...HJet. With the release of the C414 (love it) and the C310 (love it), I'm just waiting on the Hondajet to come out now and my hanger will be pretty complete. I know the PMDG 737 and the Fenix A320 are coming out but I'm not a big iron guy so I'm not interested in those but I know that for those who are big fans of big iron this is an exciting time. Hopefully your hanger is coming together as well regardless of what your preference is and that you're enjoying the hobby of aviation whether you're a casual simmer, serious simmer, gamer or real world pilot keeping skills fresh…

I hope someone has figured out how to do this but the cloud based MSFS game can be played on portable devices so ...... I have a Lenovo Tab11 Yoga tablet with 8gb of ram and a lot of storage so subscribed for $1 to the Xbox game pass. I try to install the game and it says to connect a controller via bluetooth or plug in with a USB. I plugged in my PC joystick and managed to fire up the game and got into the MSFS configuration menu but no further. Has anyone else tried this and how far did you get? I was thinking of a trip to EB Games and maybe buying an Xbox controller to see if that works. After a bit of digging through youtube this guy answered my question. …

I've only done 1 flight which was in the daytime. I could not see any of the lights to be working... beacon, nav, strobes, etc. Anyone else have this issue?

Not sure if Asobo knows about this, but ever since the launch of the sim, AI nav lights out in the distance look extremely blocky and unrealistic. I took a snapshot of what they look like. This is what they look like at 4k running Ultra preset.

Let me just vent here! Dear Asobo, we understand running servers for a growing community is hard and capacity is limited. But then please, please re-write the code of MSFS to not harrass me with "Your connection had an issue" popups. It makes flying on impossible and each time I have to enter the pause menu, just to get a mouse cursor and click on "ok". First of all, my connection is fine. Its your network running out of capacity, not "my connection had a problem". Second, stop switching me to "offline mode", all I will do is enter my options and change it back, and it works fine. No luck for me with this 737. Wondering if anyone else is having this problem. I click set departure on any airport. It starts to load and the blue line goes all the way to the end and just sits there. Locks it up.

Just launched the sim and had a 153MB update. Steam version. Maybe this is the hot fix patch that has been spoken about?

Hey Guys. All of a sudden whenever I try to search by input in the control mappings immediately it recognizes a key press. Namely Joystick Button 197. I use an xbox controller for views and when I go to the control options menu it appears that 197 is listed as an input for it. Also my control options menu appears to have 3 different xbox controllers on there. But when I go to preset manager the delete function is greyed out. Any ideas how to proceed here?

Hello, since two weeks ago, my MSFS has many stutters on taxiways, airports in general. I havent changed anything on my rig, settings, etc... my nvidia controller is the last one. before two weeks, all mas smooth. after watching many tutorials about fixes, nothing changes. Even if i had a RTX 3090, there are stutters so... could Asobo fix that? im not the only one. thanks!

Hi, so before the PMDG 737 I decided to do a full windows reinstall. From before, I had MSFS on a separate SSD drive, away from the Windows partition. But if I install it now (from the Xbox app), it makes a community folder on C no matter what (AppData\Local\MSFSPackages\Community etc). When you install MSFS, you can choose where to install packages. On default that is C drive, but I selected the drive where I wanted to install MSFS. Still, with this solution, it creates all these folders within the C partition (where windows is installed), meaning it will fill up quickly. What is the point of having several locations for this folder???

My checklist window is completely blank for all aircraft, so I suspect it will be the same with the 310. Nobody else seems to have this problem or a way to fix it short of re-installing Windows (already tried deleting, re-installing FS) and then the sim. - Question is, are the checklists interactive? Would this mean I couldn't properly use the loading features of the aircraft?

I noticed others had this problem as well. After trying about 5 times and getting the send download button, code then inputting the emailed code and going back to the same window cycle. I just switched browsers to Chrome and the download worked. In the background while still sending me back to the resend code page cycle. It took a minute for me to realize the download was actually working. NOTE: I always use my Mac to download anything never the PC, just so much safer. I am unable to turn oh the APU. I start with the aircraft cold and dark at the gate open the EFB and load the sim flight information; load the fuel and move to the overhead panel where I turn on the battery and wait until the battery stabilises. Then turn on all the fuel pumps. I wait a while, prob a minute or two then press "Master sw" on the start overhead panel but it will not activate the APU start button. I have tried many different situations and re-loaded the aircraft but the APU still will not start. Is there something I am missing?

Recently the ATC & aircraft voices have become partially garbled.Instead of a straight command I get additional information.eg. Instead of XX clear for take off etc. I get. XXX microsoft, clear & other vocal artifacts and eventually the take off clearance. Hard to explain. It also happens ocasionally to the aircraft replies but mainlt the ATC voices. Any ideas
