I was descending into EGLL using Beyond ATC. They'd cleared me for the arrival down to FL200. Just before getting to FL200 I was handed to London Control. Changed frequency and managed to announce myself on the new frequency to ATC. It then took them five minutes to acknowledge me and then another minute or so to issue me with further descent clearance as they were having to talk to all the other aircraft. By the time they did acknowledge, I was so high on arrival, had to slow right down, speedbrakes and gear out just to get back on track. Why is it that we have got no payware DC-8s for FS2020/2024? Nothing since HJG's freeware jets many years ago. We have got DC-9s, DC-10s, 727s, 707s, etc but no DC-8. I am sure there would be lot of interest not just imited to baby boomers.

Just wondering what backups you maintain for MSFS2024? I guess most of us have backed up all of our addon scenery, airports, aircraft, etc but what about keeping MSFS backups? I suppose it makes sense to backup or keep copies of your UserCFG.opt file and MicrosoftGame.Config as well, but what about your setings and other files related to MSFS? What backups do you need to keep and what is sored in the cloud (e.g your controller settings)? Making sure you have copies of your Windows & MSFS product keys and keys for any other products you may have purchased as well. Similar to my sunglasses thread, this is another one that I wonder if it exists and if not has anyone heard any plans? This should be achievable with today's data and the benefits are multi-fold. First of all the obvious that landing on water or even on the "banks" in the bush is dramatically different at low tide vs high tide with debris/rocks sometimes completely covered or exposed. So it adds a more realistic element for the low and slow flyers but there is a secondary benefit of matching water data to Bing descriptors. I'm having a consistent problem with the autopilot in FS2024. It's the same in multiple planes whenever I use the G1000 and for the sake of the example the plane is the Cessna 172 The autopilot is engaged and it responds to both alt and VS setting correctly but if I attempt to engage either NAV or HDG the plane will veer sharply to the right and go into a tailspin. When I manually override either setting, the plane will respond but the yoke behavior on the screen moves sharply in the opposite direction from the yoke control. Hi all. I made a small utility to toggle the Toolbar in MSFS 2024 on and off. I got tired of the huge invasive Toolbar getting in the way when trying to click on tablets / EFBs / overhead panels. It works by simply dragging the folder to the community folder, and by default it will turn off the bar. If you want to toggle it back to on (and off again) just hit Ctrl-Atl-T. Hi, I would like to move to MSFS2024, but my computer is quite new... I have i9-10900K with RTX 3090. I use loseless scalling to help me with the frame rate issues and normally I have not so much fps problems except when clouds are really very intensive. Do you think that MSFS2024 still works with those settings and with almost the same performance? I normally use addons for aircrafts and sceneries like fenix, pmdg, orbx, aerosoft, flytampa, flightbeam and so on... Thanks.

Hi got this for the first time in 2024 got in and started the pre flight etc, than got a warning saying system malfunction and also engine malfunction on the screen.Also on the efb got a F/CTL L/R Sidestick Fault as well. In msfs2020 have no issues think i might have solved my issue, did a uninstall/reinstall of the fenix only time will tell 🙂

I had asked this in the SU4 thread but wanted to be respectful and didn't want to threadjack so figured I would move these here instead. It appears with the SU4 Beta that barring some unexpected regression this will be my first "whole-hearted migration" to '24 vs dabbling and then returning to '20. Even with the same digital twin in 2020 now the one thing I really care about more than anything is that SU4 seems to overcome the mainthread CPU bottleneck and starts to really push the GPU as well whereas in 2020 my 5090 hovers around 50% utilization. As the title suggests... Is there an add-on that simulates you putting on sunglasses? I know it sounds a bit tongue and cheek but the sun visors in the 777 gave me the idea as it is amazing how you can see things through the visor you can't see without them depending on the sun and glare. I would just like that same "visor functionality" to move with my head as if I were wearing sunglasses... I know we have flashlight functionality but do we have sunglasses? I have bought tons of addon airports for MSFS2024. Now, I want to add KMEM update. It costs $5. When I hit on the BUY button, a window pops up quickly and disappears in a split second, and thus I can't seem to buy it. Do I need to buy tokens? Can't do that either. Before,I paid by credit card. Someone suggested I need to turn ON SCREEN OVERLAY. I don't know if that is the issue. And can't find anyone to tell me how to turn screen over lay on. Hello, I read on a forum a while ago that it was possible to move an aircraft on the ground along the Y-axis (I'm not talking about changing altitude during a flight). Example: in MSFS 2020-LFPG, some taxiways have raised ground elevations (like a staircase), and to be able to cross them, one solution is to move the aircraft on the ground along the Y-axis and then along the X-axis. If anyone has the solution, i.e., the keyboard shortcuts and/or commands to perform these manipulations, I would be forever grateful if they could share the information. Thank you in advance.

Hi, I would really like to fly in South America with the Baron or Bonanza when they come out. I know Brazil got an update not to long ago. I would like to keep the flights under 2 hours and closer to 1 to 1h30, Not sure if it is still very abysmal down there in 2024. Really know little to nothing about the region. As the title suggests, looking for input on an MMMX Mexico City Scenery for MSFS. Looks like there is a FlyMex which gets average at best reviews however more concerning is that it has a broken install process leaving files/folders in the wrong spot including Program Files/ Temp/Users Folders inside the Community directory. If a dev pays so little attention to how their program installs I have very little reason to believe they pay attention to details within the scenery itself and reviews seem to back that up. When flying towards brightness the VC dash can get very dim. Prior to resuming use of NV DLSS FG I used GFE filters which did a nice job of selective brightening of the VC, but that's gone for me now. Any way around that you know of? It's particularly bad w/ the Longitude I'm in at the moment. Any way to eliminate that effect entirely if not modulate it?

Win 11 25H2 Steam FS2024 SU3 (1.5.27.0) works perfectly with no errors. SU4 Beta (1.6.16.0 and 1.6.18.0) work very well with the exception of the "Cloud Save Error 2047" which occurs every time I change a setting in the sim. When I start FS2024 I see the message "Synchronizing Cloud" and no error message. Additionally, I cannot Quit Back to Desktop after the error. The sim gets into a loop where all it is doing is a TCP Send and Receive and there is not way to stop it. The error occurs in the World Map at sim startup if I change a setting before doing anything else. It occurs continually in flight if I change a setting. The Cloud Save Error (CS…

In all the time I have been flying, this issue has stumped me dead. Something very odd is happening when I use msfs2020. It started with the PMDG 737-800. I started a flight and for some reason, once I wasin the VC, the rudder pedals began to rattle, as though they were being pressed on and off quickly. The rattling movement was accompanied by a rattling sound. This was in any panel state that was loaded. Then in the A2A Comanche, for some reason, the pressing of the pedal brakes, intiates rapid in and out movement of the handbrake lever. When I start MSFS 2024 and select the Cessna 172, when I take off, the aircraft climbs to maybe 500 feet, then stalls and crashes. Anyone have any idea why this could be happening, TBM 930 flies fine. Thanks for any help!
