  1. It depends on what sort of aircraft you are interested in. If all you want is pmdg etc airliners then it obviously isn't worth it. If you are interested in quirky historical aircraft then have a look at the Aviator edition. Jorg has said that the included aircraft will be updated to 2024 versions with the first five coming with su5 maybe next week. I didn't own any of the Famous Flyer/Local Legend aircraft from 2020 and took a chance on the Aviator edition and I am glad I did. There is a strange anti MS/Asobo attitude from many posters on this forum. Just look at the comments about the marketplace. Look at the aircraft in the different editions and decide whether they suit your type of flying and whether they interest you or not. Everyone is different. Updating to higher editions later is much more expensive and buying individual aircraft soon adds up.
  2. The same developer has released a similar mod for the default Texan as well IIRC.
  3. I suppose the exception to not setting trim to a certain position is take off trim. How is take off trim handled if doing touch and goes? I am thinking more of small GA aircraft. Obviously trim is set for the approach. Is it reset to 'take off' setting on touchdown? This seems it could be difficult while doing everything else and maintaining direction or is it left at approach settings and adjusted on take off to remove forces as usual?
  4. I hope so. I am looking forward to see the updated FF/LL aircraft in the AAAU.
  5. I also find the default view often too low and sometimes angled down instead of straight ahead. I think developers set it to include certain instruments in the view instead of a realistic position. Although it raises the question of where is the viewpoint on the monitor? Is it in the centre or higher? I find as a test to show a co pilot and then rotate the view to the left and see where the viewpoint lands. I often find it seems to be level with the the co pilots jaw. This means it is several inches too low. Although rotating the view is also a test and sometimes when the view is angled down then when rotating the view it rises through the rotation until when looking to the rear the viewpoint is looking at the ceiling instead of straight back down the aircraft. The Cessna 207 LL is very bad for this but there are others.
  6. I don't know about the 404 but sometimes the in game checklists include speeds so check there. Also flightsim.to has checklists for some aircraft that include basic operating parameters. Documentation in general is poor in flight sims.
  7. Have you checked that yours is the latest version? I don't have the DE myself but I know that GF updated a lot of their aircraft for 2024 compatibility. Login to the GF site and download the latest version and then try reinstalling it.
  8. Where did you buy the addon from? How did you install it? How did you 'migrate it' to 2024?
  9. I am pretty certain that you cannot use third party ATC in career. I only do small aircraft career missions but on those passengers show in the default aircraft when doing sightseeing missions for example. Career mode is very limited and there are a lot of complaints about it. However, whether you find it of any value depends on what you are looking for. If you have a very fixed idea of what you want it to be then you are likely to be disappointed. Here is an example of someone flying a 3rd party aircraft on a cargo mission and going beyond the basic format to make it a more interesting experience. https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/pseudo-bush-trips-with-career-or-how-to-stop-worrying-and-love-flying-cargo-missions/756579
  10. However the model is intended to work it should be the same with either measurement system. Have you reported this on the official forums as a bug and if so do you have a link to it?
  11. I should have looked at your thread on the official forum before replying. It seems as if they have already identified as a known bug when using hybrid units.
  12. I am not sure that many did watch your video as most replies don't seem to have anything to do with the scenario you are showing. I am not on my msfs pc atm but if I go on later I will try and replicate what you are showing. If it can be replicated by others then it needs reporting as a bug. As this thread shows there are definitely issues with winds in the sim. The main problem I have had with wind in the sim is in career missions. Winds at the destination airport are often much stronger than reported at the start of the mission and can be far outside the limits of the aircraft. I have often wondered whether there is some loop or process that is increasing the wind in a way that is unintended. There can also be a problem with extreme in flight turbulence that is similarly extreme.
  13. Why do you have packages in the community folder if you are using addon linker?
  14. Have you tried the freeware Gatwick? I don't use it myself but from what I understand it is very good.
  15. You won't be able to start with the hjet straight away. You have to get certifications for different types of aircraft and build up to jets. To pay for the certs you will need to do missions in more basic aircraft to earn credits. It won't take that long though. Before accepting a mission check the destination airport in the EFB. Missions will sometimes send you to unsuitable runways.
