Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Hi guys Just wondering if anyone can help with this, I still have msfs 2020 and msfs 2024 on my drive and I think its now time to move to only 2024. However there are a couple of aircraft i'm still waiting on to be ported,but as the pmdg 737 is imminent I am only waiting on the tfdi md11. I have the horizonsim 787-9 installed and working in 2024 but i want to still use the 787-10 specifically the British Airways livery. I was hoping it might be as simple as cut and pasting the BA livery from msfs 2020 to 2024 as to get the horizonsim to work it requires the 787-10 from msfs 2020 to work. Didn't there used to be a sub-forum with these guys here? I have a question. I recently bought the Orbx Jurassic World add-on for 2020 and I used the Airbus helicopter with the GTN and meticulously went to each helipad/runway and entered in custom waypoints. They all saved and work just fine, but with only the helicopter. When I try it with any other plane with the GTN those waypoints don't show up. I was under the impression this was a global setting. Anyone know what I might be doing wrong? Many thanks. Jack

Not complaining, well maybe a little, just a little humor. I upgraded to MSFS2024 from FSX no less and while I love the looks and visuals it's been a heavy learning process. I have been involved with Microsoft's flight simulator software from the beginning and this upgrade has my brain spinning. Getting everything setup from the camera, control settings, profiles and all types of SETTINGS has been an astronomical learning curve. So after a few test flights I have found out AUTO RUDDER is a completely different animal in MSFS2024 then FSX. Since the beginning I have never used rudder pedals just turned on AUTO RUDDER and used my joystick to keep me on the runway center…

I’ve started wondering how far we’re going to push the size of individual airport add-ons. I recently installed Perth (YPPH) by ORBX, and the install size is almost 12 GB for this one airport. That feels extremely large. In comparison, many other payware airports of a similar size (and even bigger ones) usually sit in the 2–4 GB range. This makes me question what exactly is driving such a big footprint. Is this simply the price we pay now for ultra-high detail? Or is it more a matter of weak optimization on the asset side, with oversized textures, too many unique materials and models, or a lack of proper LODs and cleanup? At what point does “high fidelity” turn into unnec…

A statement by the developer that a "Christmas surprise [is] soon" was provided in response to a user on discord asking for a release estimate. Some older info here, and I think we can expect a more recent update in the coming days: https://www.projectstratosphere.com/news/ This project was significantly delayed due to technical challenges requiring assistance from as yet unknown partner developers, but it seems like it's close to completion. I believe for both sims, but maybe 2020 is first. We'll see.

Is there a quick way to get rid of taxi ribbons and the square fence at the gate once arrived ?

Hi all, I have the problem that the volumetric landing lights (illuminating clouds and fog) only work in some aircraft in MSFS2024. For example they work in the FBW320/380, PMDG777. They don't work in ini340, iFly and in Fenix. I'm using the base Logitech Thrustmaster stick, the one without detents. I have tried everything but my Fenix has been idling a bit strangely. On engine start up I get the warning "Throttle not Idle", and sure enough it is slightly thrusted up, about 23% N1, making taxying a bit annoying. Like driving an automatic car the Fenix wants to move forward (I know it does slightly IRL, but this is too much). On landing, it's impossible to completely idle the throttles. So I get RETARD, RETARD screamed at me because I can't actually retard the throttles all the way, and the plane wants to float. However, after landing, the behaviour is fine. I can idle th…
