Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I got a 10 minute phone call, and put MSFS in pause as I usually do, and I was about 1/2 way through the flight. Finished the phone call, toggle pause off, and that was it, the sim was frozen, AP was engaged, I was supposed to be climbing but altitude stayed the same, finally just had to end the flight.

Does anyone know what happened to the control in MSFS where you can turn icing on or off?

In this context, what does it mean to be "offline"? I've always left MP on but just turned it off and noticed the Offline thing under my avatar for MS. I was coming into KDEN w/ all AI traffic off for a test and noticed there was still aircraft in the air so surmised it must be multiplayer.

Hi guys So I my PC is ageing, i74790k, 1070 and 16GB. I'm not in the financial position to upgrade yet. I can't upgrade my CPU because it requires a new motherboard etc. A cheaper option would be moving to a 2070 or 2080 (but I'm not really sure if this would help) because I am CPU limited at the mo. Another cheaper option I have been looking at is moving to SSD. I have Win 10 installed on a 240GB SSD and MSFS installed on a 2TB HDD. I've googled and can pickup a 2TB SSD which is compatible for about £130. I'm wondering if this would have any tangible benefits on performances apart from initial loading times? Probably it had been announced before, but I didn't know until this early morning, Meigs Fields in Chicago is supposedly coming back next Friday with SU11. Hi, Since Su10, I encounter several crashes and had no way to fly safely in online mode, MSFS crashed 80% of the flights after maximum 1 hour when in offline mode. Safe mode was stronger than normal mode but was instable. I didn't change anything in my setup, but after my problem started, i updated to the last legacy Nvidia driver. So after Wu10, I made a fresh new install, (No add-on, Community folder totaly empty) but and nothing changed, no way to understand why these crashes occur. Hello: New problem today with the Fenix. I have flown 5 flights today. For each flight the flight plans have been brought in from Sim Brief, I added my departures and arrivals and away I went. HOWEVER. on 3 of the flights for some reason shortly after I was airborne the flight plan in my FMC disappears. The departure and arrival airports were still there, and maybe 1 or 2 waypoints, but the rest of the waypoints were gone. What would cause this? Thanks, Dave

Aeroplane Heaven has indicated they will release some of the liveries that were in their portfolio before the aircraft was sold to MSFS, & then released without those AH liveries. Anyone know when that may occur, & if they will be available through the AH website, or via say, the Marketplace? T45

I upgraded to RTX 4090, 8k ( 65 inches ) Did some tests without DLSS Frame Generator Average FPS, about 35. I’m okay with that. I enabled ( game crashed at this point ) DLSS Frame Generator , average fps, 15 Do I miss something? Does this setting support 8k resolution ? I'm trying to figure out how to set up the reverse levers on the Bravo to change the axis input from the throttle, and can't figure out how to do it or if it's even possible. I've set the axis as a throttle with reverse. I would like it to change the idle / reverse position based on whether or not the reverse levers are on or off. So, if the reverse lever is off, the idle position should be all the way down. If the reverse lever is on, the idle position should move up along the throttle axis to a set place, with full reverse now being all the way down. This is basically to avoid engaging reversers in flight accidentally since the Bravo doesn't have a detent along …

tried to delete KCGX from content mgr but the little airport still in the sim. I used to fly there IRL back in the 90s but, and wish Daley didnt destroy, it bc flying over the lake shore it was very important as a safety net, but that was then, this is now... so can we get it out of the game?

I was a mission designer for FSX Acceleration! and also a third-party mission designer, so naturally, I'm interested in seeing more on the mission side. Is Asobo going to complete the Script Editor (mission scripter) now that the 40th Anniversary has been released. I was really disappointed in some of the missions they tried to recreate. For example, in the Sitka Approach mission, you're told the airport is behind you when it isn't. Also, the runway wasn't even flattened? Has grass on it? I'm going to re-create that airport and it probably won't take me more than a week at most. I'll release it on Flightsim.co when it's done for anybody interested in a free download.

The latest version, entitled Sky4Sim Pad NG is free if you are a current user of the original Sky4Sim Pad. I immediately noticed two improvements: 1. The Bing api key, the one that allows you to use the map feature, can now be added after install from your desktop. 2. Nav Data importation can now be done from the desktop also and is quite a way faster than before where you had to do it from within the sim. Yep, finally bought the Beaver. Only problem is the seller said if you want it, it's in Cabo San Lucas. Jumped in the Black Square King Air and flew from BC down to Cabo to pick it up today. So far, an amazingly good experience. I'm expecting a whole lot lot of 250nm jumps. Running super smooth on my 2080ti, DX12, DLSS balanced, Nvidia Reflex low latency on, Terrain level of detail 150, G-Sync monitor locked at 52 fps in NCP, Rex AccuSeason. Like butter. The best flight sim experience since installing MSFS2020. Next few days up the west coast back to Campbell River seaplane base in my new amphib. This going to be fun.

So, I am able to edit the aircraft and flight-model cfg files on the Beaver. Removed a couple of the liveries and the co-pilot from the wheels and float versions. I'm hoping this is not just because we are still offline. (edit, it's not!)
