Since SU11, Maverick Activities, Content Manager, and Live Weather have all been unavailable. Is it just me; did I miss something?

New York is excellent and London is worthwhile. I've not done Paris or Singapore yet. Any ideas for areas with good photogrammetry, tall buildings or any other scenic areas where helicopter tours are popular?

How do you know how much fuel you are burning per hour in the DC-3 and DHC-2 beaver? Some old school jedi trick or is there a gauge I can sneak into the cockpit for MSFS? Happy Landings

  4. I still have not been able to lift off the ground in the helicopters without spinning around and around and flip flopping. So I set up my flight from the World Menu for just the arrival airport. It started me at 1600 feet altitude. After pressing Fly and taking the controls, I was all over the place for a while, until I finally got a feel for what does what, and was able to fly a pretty decent flight. Good practice but I still have to learn how to take off and land. But at least I have a feel for the controls. Roy

  5. the other day, before starting MSFS I noticed an unusual high CPU load on 1 core, nearly 100% load with no other programs running in the background, or so I thought. the culprit it turned out was a Microsoft service: Shellexperiencehost.exe which supposedly was started by using the Windows built-in photo or image viewer. After killing this not needed service via task manager everything was back to normal. further details: Shell Infrastructure Host has been using about 50% cpu usage and total cpu usage is 100% https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/shell-infrastructure-host-has-been-using-about-50/23617e42-ab06-4984-8a15-3f384379f8f5 …

Since installing SU11, MSFS seems to work fine but on the opening screen it says "MARKETPLACE (CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE)". The marketplace box is there but is greyed out. Is anyone else seeing this? The most annoying part is that I also seem unavailable to access "Content Manager". I usually do this via Marketplace. But I can't even access it via "Profile". Can anyone help/advise please?

Hello guys, Happy PMDG newbie here. I recently did the jump onto the 737 and i am enjoying it big time. However i was just wondering if it is possible to save the current panel/aircraft state to have it ready to load for the next flight. I am usually using the airstairs for deboarding (BBJ) and would like to save it for the next flight. At the moment every time i start a new flight i have got the stairs connected and have to remove them first to deploy the airstairs. Also i would like to save the current fuel levels. Is that somehow possible and if yes, how do i do that the easiest way? Any help greatly appreciated. Have a good one, …

  9. Hi everyone! I've been using both MSFS and P3D. While both have their strenghts, and I'm looking forward to the MSFS airliner releases (737/320/MD82), there's a thing I sorely miss from P3D4 and FS9: AI traffic. If I use AIG, I can´t keep all the fluidity I'm used to, specially when flying the DC-6 and the FBW A320. But flying to an empty hub is so depressing 😂... I've seen the static aircraft bundle by LVFR. Seem interesting: correct liveries for the airport I'm arriving/departing. BUT how does it affect FPS? For reference, I only have one addon airport, which is not covered yet by LVFR traffic, so it won't matter.

  12. So the performance issues experienced by some of us seem to be caused by the compile optimizations not running when we first launch the aircraft as per: The above doesn't work for me - does anyone have a workaround until we get an official fix?

  13. So is anybody else excited about the new 20 KM CFD that surrounds the plane, coming in SU 11? This looks very fascinating to me and appears to make the MSFS flight model even more sophisticated. I did some asking around and from the responses I got, I don't think something like a 20 KM CFD surrounding the plane has been done before in a home market flight simulator. Some of the screenshots of the new 20 KM CFD look amazing: If it's true that a 20 KM CFD surrounding the plane hasn't been done before in a home market flight simulator (based on the responses I got when I asked around), this is really ground breaking flight model technol…

Hi. I usually fly alone or sometimes with a friend or two in group multiplayer and we talk using Discord. I was thinking about trying the "All players" option instead of the "Off/Group only" in a remote place like the French Polynesia (because I hate having the screen full with player labels) just to check it out. If I happen to see another pilot there and want to talk to him how do I do it? Thanks.

Good evening, Please excuse if this has been asked before. I am wondering why the sun in my sim always looks like a pale disc. I can turn the camera diretly to it and never get blinded or anything. Is this just not simulated (yet) or am i missing a particular setting here? Lens flare is activated in the settings. Can someone shed some light on this? Best regards, Tom

  17. Started by Phantoms,

Just curious if anyone else are having ground texture problems at airports since SU10 and using DX12? Below is an image (not mine) of what I'm talking about: I get it randomly every since SU10. Sometimes it only affects a small piece of a taxiway, sometimes it can affect the majority of the airport and it seems very random when it happens or not. It's like the underlying satellite photo shows instead of the correct texture. There's a bug thread about the issue at https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/mixed-textures-in-ground-at-default-airport/534963 that was started back in August and the issues since SU10 have been merged into it and it's took off with o…

  18. I've always felt that the atmospheric coloration in MSFS was off. Too bright, too blue, and that haze. Well... I take that back. I was on Youtube watching some commercial pilots' cockpit videos when I ran across the one below. Right from the beginning, the sky looks, well... Just like MSFS. I was wrong. Go figure. I've got a flight in progress right now, on my main display. Side by side. You tell me. The screen shot made the HDR MSFS side look brighter than it really is next to the video running on an SDR display, but sitting here they are much closer to the video. I'm at FL380 with thicker coverage, so there's no ground to look at in my capture. …

I’ve considered moving from P3Dv5.3 to MSFS (already purchased it) but I find it very confusing. It’s very different compared to FSX. What might you suggest as a good tutorial or manual to get me off the ground and flying? BTW, I fly commercial jets almost exclusively. Thanks.

  22. The 152 used to have this red colour in the interior when the lights were turned on, it was very odd. It has been replaced with a more normal light colour. I'll have to look at the other aircraft to see if they have had anything done to them. They have (in my area at least) partially gone back to the way in used to be, using textures to light up the windows. It looks much better than just the little splashes of light that were there before.

I ran the new update and I went to check out the new SU11 airports. I am having some serious issues with Meigs and Kai Tak. Meigs is a mess, no runway and my plane was in the water at start up. At Kai Tak, there is a building on the runway. I happen to have DD Chicago City and Sam Scene Hong Kong, and I’m wondering if these are causing the issues. Thanks in advance for any ideas. Cheers, Pete

Its great to finally have a steam gauge PC-6 to play with but I have a long standing problem with starting the thing, it just wont. Either using the proper startup from cold and dark or simply Ctrl+e, neither way will get it running, it spins up but doesnt ever go above a low idle, moving the throttle does nothing, its been like this since I first bought it on release. Any help appreciated.

Since SU11, I find the image slightly oversharpened... Found the AMD FidelityFX slider and reduced it from 100 to zero. That seems to have improved things for me. Is this a common issue? I have not seen it mentioned.. 1080p with TAA on a 27" monitor.
