Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I notice when I start MSFS, I'll get a notification that downloads have started. How do I manually control this? I didn't see anything in the data section under settings. Thanks, Mark

There might not be a perfect/right answer to this, perhaps just pros to each. Or hear your experience with each? To give more variety to my flying, I'm after the tycoon/empire building side of it. I would like the career/tycoon side of it. I would also like some basis for flight rating, beit in financial penalties/passenger ratings or a score. There you have it! Messing with Windows update about a month ago I seemed to set the wheels in motion to go from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 11 Pro. I did some searching to see how I could stop this but to no avail and just resigned myself to the fact that it was going to happen despite the fact that all I was ding was investigating the option. Given it was Windows 10 Pro I could delay the inevitable by 30 days giving the opportunity of investigating how to stop it further if I could find the time. I never found that time and one day I got the notice that windows would update and it did. I Though its not worth the effort to try to stop it despite wanting to stay on W10. …

How do you turn default ATC off so that it doesn't interfere with FSIPanel scenarios that include their own ATC? It's a bit annoying to start listening to the default ATC in MFS when we have already started a scenario using it's built-in ATC 😞 I tried to post about it at their forums but so far was unable to login, although I did follow the procedure to create an account there ... Thx in advance for any help / suggestions !

The Alouette III by developer Taog's Hangar was just updated. The new version is 1.2. Been enjoying this aircraft since release and if the update cycles are any indication, this developer will be one to watch! If you haven't picked it up yet I definitely recommend checking it out. As far as I know it's still only available through the flightsim.to site, but it should make it to the marketplace eventually too. Hello, just gave this one a shot to get some more GA life around my local airports. GA Stock Aircraft Traffic for Microsoft Flight Simulator | MSFS It seems to do the job but after installation I am facing some issues. At EKSP I can hear all the GA interacting with ATC and see them in LittleNavMap. It is really cool. I can also hear the GA engines in the sim if I move the drone close to where they are supposed to be... but I don't see any planes 😂. When in the Longitude's VC, the various views available in MSFS stop working after being in the VC for sometime, i.e., they work initially but fail later. Examples of keystrokes where the above is observed are CTRL + 1, CTRL + 5, F and several others. Either the resulting views are incorrect or nothing happens. I know it is not the controller because I get the same erroneous results straight from the keyboard. However, when I use the same views in the PMDG 737-800 VC, all views I use work every time all the time. If anyone can shed any light on the above, I would appreciate it.

Occasionally, while flying I notice the FPS has stabilized at 19 - 20 in locations where it is normally a steady 30. Sometimes this is at the very start of a session or sometimes in the middle. Shutting down the sim and restarting restores the 30 FPS with no other changes. BUT - what is odd, at least seems odd to me!, is that changing the MSFS settings from Ultra to Low End or anything in between causes almost no change in FPS or usage. For example: Ultra Settings - FPS 19 - 20 / CPU usage 47% to 67% spread across 5 of 7 CPUs / GPU usage 22% to 60% CPU service time 27 to 31ms and GPU service time 21.5 to 22.7 ms Low Settings - FPS 20 - 21 / CPU usage 28…

Until recently I've been running my MSFS sound through my integrated Samsung panel sound speakers but have since upgraded to some nice noise cancellation Samsung Ear Buds. The result is that it feels much more realistic as I am using the sim noise cancellation setting. Anyway the fidelity and positional sound is much better with the ear buds. What are you using? sp

I'm trying to figure out how I define a hotkey to select or trigger the PFD/MFD/COM on the TBM930 panel. I tried with the tutorials I have, but I don't think how, this function does not appear to define in FSUIPC7. Thanks.

Hi All Quick question on the Fenix A320 - Can you change the cabin layout on the mass and balance screen? As an example i can only ever have 36 in business and 126 in economy but want to have a full economy layout where more pax will fit in Is this possible? Thanks Matt

This has been going on under a w10 install, a new fresh w11 install, a clean install of msfs and my current install with all of my add ons installed without the AAU2 beta and with the AAU2 beta. Anyways, I am on the steam version and when I start MSFS. It does its quick update check and goes into the screen with the advertisements for the newest world update. The blue bar is loading loading loading until about 75-80% complete. Then the program hangs. The little green steam gpa counter in the upper left corner indicates no change and the game will stay like this for hours. Never gets to the main menu. I end the task and restart the program. No tunnel entrance to airport and Jetways do not connect to their aircraft. MSFS 2020 Deluxe version loaded, no additional Heathrow add-ons. Can this be rectified? Additionally little to no air/ground traffic at EGLL even with settings high.

Nuts, I need a flight plan...

I installed a freeware pack of Norwegian helipads today. All of the locations do show on the MSFS world map when starting a flight. But even after updating the Little Navmap database, none of the helipads show up there, which makes it hard to go from one pad to the next. Is that just a function of how some scenery is done? I wasn't sure because my payware add-ons do show up on Little Navmap. Thanks. EDIT: Never mind. Yours truly was having a senior moment and forgot to actually update the database after adding the freebies. Some days it's a wonder I can tie my own shoes 😄

Love the new Asobo ATR, but find that the condition levers do not always respond as I would like them to, when I use my mouse to operate them. Sometime they move backwards when I am trying to move them forward. I was able to bind both levers to an axis - but that means that they both operate at the same time, and if I use engine No2 as the APU, I need to operate the condition levers independently. Has anyone found a way that they can be bound to a button to move forward or backwards independent of each other - not unlike Flap increase and Flap decrease? I do not have two spare axis to bind them separately assigning them to an axis.

Since I moved I can't define custom cockpit views. Same configuration Nothing regarding HW changed. I the past I used left ctrl-alt+ numeric pad 5 or one of the other numbers to set the view. The number to got to the view. I tried ctrl alt plus the number to select the view. What have I missed or has something changed? The keys work fine in Word. Thank You! Bill

I have an Intel I9 13900K CPU and a nVidia 4090 GPU. On occasions when I switch to external view I get flickering and lines appearing. The monitor is IIyama GB2888UHSU. Is this something to do with refresh rates - or is it something else? It is only the external view - I have absolutely no problem with the internal view in the cockpit. The PC is connected to the monitor via the display port - the cable is new - but the monitor (which is 4K) is 8 years old...............could that be something to do with it? I had the same issue on my old PC and thought that might be due to the GPU 'overheating' - but the new GPU is water cooled - so do not think that is the…
