  1. Flying the Reims Rocket Cessna 172 into KORS (Orcas Island - US San Juan Islands at Canadian border). The thunderstorm I waited for moved from over the airport but left it soaked. I landed on Rwy 35 with touchdown @ 80 knots IAS with a 25 knot headwind and mostly clear skies. That gives me a groundspeed of about 55 knots at touchdown? In 1900-feet of runway I could only get the IAS down to 47 knots and slid off the runway into the beach and saltwater with a groundspeed of maybe 15 mph. I was braking heavily but had no indication of hydroplanning - the 172 just would not slow down. It stayed straight on the runway but brakes seemed worthless. Is this somethi…

Hi guys, I purchased the Kodiak on the MSFS marketplace but I suspect it is not equipped with the awesome Nxi from WT. Keep in mind that I've only had time to take it up once so I haven't really checked things out much. Is there anything I need to do to get the Nxi installed or is it already in there? It just looks and behaves differently to me. I'd really appreciate your help with this.

  4. Flying Iron has raised the bar once more with their Me-109G, and have an FW-190 in development, along with an undisclosed 4-engine heavy ( hopefully that's still being done ). They really have cornered the warbird market in MSFS, so which ones would you like to see added to their list ? My choices are: 1) Grumman Avenger 2) Hawker Hurricane 3) Junkers Ju-88 night fighter 4) Consolidated PB4Y Privateer 5) Kawanishi H6K 'Mavis' I know that some of these are a bit niche, and wouldn't sell enough to recoup the development costs. However, if I won the lottery and could fund a project with Flying Iron, these would be my first 5 choices. 😉

What settings are needed in MSFS to run FSLTL? I'm not interested in FSLTL settings, only what should be set in MSFS.

  7. Started by andyjohnston.net,

Wondering if there are others like me (although I suppose they wouldn't be reading this forum.) I've been running various versions of Flight Simulator for 25+ years, starting with FS-5.1 up to the present. I've never had any trouble getting the aircraft to do what I wanted until now. It seems the most recent updates, trying to make them as real as the devs can, have pushed those aircraft beyond me. Would it be at all useful to have perhaps some 'dumbed-down' aircraft so that people like me can use them? I can do the piston driver guys, but the jets have gotten to be too much. Even the formerly tame 747 seems to have become to complex. Thoughts?

  9. In P3D I have assigned controller buttons to select specific engines and all engines. So I have one axis assigned to throttle and one to propeller and one to mixture. Then I select individual engines and move only that one. Or I can control all engines with the throttle. Is this not possible in MSFS ? If possible I can't figure out how. I tried in both MSFS own controller settings and in FSUIPC

  10. Have not seen a Thread about it, and find it interesting. A Video about the upcoming Freeware(?) Airbus A350 from Digital Flight Dynamic, it shows some 3D Model, Cockpit and some Displays. It looks like they are collabing with FBW for some of the systems. They have a long way to go, but the video seems serious to me (but i dont know nothing about how acurate the Displays are etc.). Heres the 28 Minute Video on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y52EzhrmYMU

  11. I've tried searching this topic on here and found several previous moans about the Autogen of buildings and vegetation in MsFS being out of proportion and out of context, but nothing mre recent, so here goes..... I've just got into the SDK scenery designer (and really like it - thanks Asobo), and I accidentally discovered the effect of disabling buildings and vegetation autogen over a comparatively large area, (with an exclude polygon). I'd been trying to make a small village on the perimeter of a very rural ex-WW2 airfield look more realistic, but the standard library objects had very few "locale specific" matches for the oldish UK village buildings. Even the chur…

Scott's post on the A2A forums: https://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=74561 We're excited to introduce the Accu-Sim Comanche 250 at FlightSimExpo 2023 with this video preview of our first add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator. It's a 20 minute look at the new technology we've been working on for the last two years, and if all goes to plan, you'll be able to fly it in July.

We know that SimWorks Studios developed on four aircraft from Daher, the French manufacturer that owns the brands TBM and Kodiak. The devs revealed that the team has signed a license with Daher that allows them to create the TBM850, 910 and 960 for MSFS. 😍 News ---> https://www.facebook.com/SimWorksStudios

  17. Hi there, Flight Sim Expo in Houston was the place to be to see our latest A380 progress in action. In case you missed it, here's a clip showing off our new flex physics. Keep in mind this is done in extremely rough conditions (plus some harsh pilot maneuvers), where you would probably see passengers flying in the cabin, between coke bottles and lunch boxes.... We hope this will bring further life to the A380, and helps you get a feel of how massive this awesome airplane actually is. Seat belts please!

Trying to learn how to read what I am limited by. The FPS is actually switching between GPU and CPU, so I am perhaps limited by both? https://ibb.co/MNV7dSM https://ibb.co/KVKHy04 Currently running MSFS at 2560 x 1440, with AMD Ryzen 5600X and 6800XT GPU, but will upgrade to be able to run at 4K (42" screen). So assessing if only GPU or CPU could be upgraded.

Hi everyone, Was having no difficulties last night with MSFS; this morning, no changes made but takes 15+ mins to load the flight and when finally there tells me switching to non photogrammetry due to low bandwidth. Except that my bandwidth is totally fine, windows updates all done, reboot and same thing multiple times. Even used MSFS Addon Linker to disable all addons to reduce load time, but exactly the same result. AND when I confirmed the settings were for photogrammetry OFF and restarted, same thing again. Any ideas here?

A quick, but possibly stupid question. Does anyone here have knowledge on if / when MSFS plans to properly accommodate a multi monitor setup? I ask because I am wanting to decide whether I wait (for a three monitor setup) or bite the bullet and buy a 49" curved monitor ( ouch $$ ), Many thanks, Brian

  23. Because of testing with Frame Generation I remarked 2 things : 1 Till the beginning of 2023 my FPS dropped around 20% when adding a second View. Now the difference is about 40% with Unlimited. 2 Since years I am using PSXT with Live Traffic. Always I use 25-30% parked ac at the Gates. With Live Traffic moving the FPS dropped around 30%. Tested with Unlimited. Now when adding 30% I see a drop of almost 60% ! Here with no AI traffic : Here with 18% parked ac + moving ac : Here with just 10% parked ac + moving ac : The 13900k is running at 5.5 GHz for the P-cores and 4.6 GHz for the E-cores. 24. Well, the aim of my question is to satisfy the curiosity of those who might consider using MFS as a soaring simulator too... Condorsoaring and Silentwings, but now also some combat flight simulators ( DCS and IL-2 ) ensure that on a multiplayer session all users see the cloud formations in the exact same place, with the exact same shape and life cycle (when they simulate clouds growth and fade, and their trajectories in the presence of wind). This is something that I really don't know if the MFS weather engine does if all users participating in an online / multiplayer session, with the exact same Graphics options for "weather rendering". Do they all see ex…

Do you always accept SimBrief Altitudes? If not what do you use to make a different choice? I have a 1 hr 5 min flight in the Hjet from EGJB to EIDW at 43,000 feet. Would that altitude be used in real live for that short flight?
