Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

There was a thread a while back where simmers were trying to guess Asobo's "July Surprise" for MSFS. I think we can all agree that a lot has changed in the sim world during the past few weeks. So with July now here -- and the Surprise being unveiled any day now -- I'd like to hear your latest guesses about what this surprise may be. I predict it's either seasons or Concorde for MSFS.

I have been experiencing a number of vanished destination airports lately and, on two occasions (last week and today), I instantly resolved the problem after cleaning the two Nvidia caches, the DirectX cache on my C drive and (today) setting my Nvidia shader cache on OFF in MSFS Nvidia inspector (I am not using NI for any other settings). I have no cache in MSFS because I never fly twice in the same region before long periods of time. I have been trying three different AI traffic settings (100%, 50%, 0%) with no result. Just an interesting observation, I've been making a helicopter tour video of a walking track which involves recording the MSFS flight over the trail, which twists and turns. The best chopper for the task is the nimble Guimbal but when I used the Asobo one to follow the flightplan on the map, the route did not appear. No idea why that particular chopper somehow prevents the flightplan legs from appearing on the VFR map but it does. Luckily the freeware Guimbal is still available at flightsim.to so I downloaded it and although its flight model is slightly harder to manage than the Asobo one, at least I can follow the intricate flight plan using the map. I recently re-purchased and installed the deluxe digital version to replace a CD version that I was having problems with. I have been running with the new version for a couple of weeks now, but am having trouble re-installing all or my airports from Flightsim.to. I have re-downloaded new versions from the Flilghtsim.to site and used the usual version of extracting to a neutral folder and then moving the file to the Community folder. The airport appears in the Content Manager, indicated as "uninstalled". But when I select the file, the usual INSTALL button does not appear. An suggestions?

Hi everyone! I know that avionics issues with some aircraft were mentioned sometime in the last couple of upgrades, but I feel that I'm not seeing the same problems and I'm wondering if anyone has experience this. I currently can't see any avionics with default TBM - black Garmin screens as has been reported and in the Vision Jet, I get the Garmin 3000 screens to come up, but no display on any of the radios. I've tried updating my graphics drivers (I'm running an RTX3080) and have reset MSFS graphics settings back to default, but no joy. Has anyone seen this and found a solution? Thanks,

So Andrew Wilson from FSLabs just made a very interesting comment: My interpretation of this comment is that FSLabs will likely focus on MSFS going forward, although I understand that other people will derive a different interpretation from this statement. Looking for some help! I've managed to bring together models of all the flying Spitfires in Australia. RG-V, FN-B, FU-P and YO-K (as well as some others!) Eventually when my skill improves I'd like to take a formation flight video (using SkyDolly) showing them in the sky at Temora, NSW. In the meantime I thought I could use the video to show them all lined up at the flight line... SkyDolly doesn't work for this type of arrangement (needs a aircraft in flight!) Can anyone suggest a video app which could allow me to position each aircraft one next to the other on the apron?

Help! I have loaded the Black Square default BE58 Baron update. I decided to load a new controls profile under Controls Options. I currently use Logitech Pro Yoke with throttle quadrant, plus a second Logitech USB throttle quadant.This gives full independent control of throttle, proppeller pitch and mixture for each engine - or so it should. I have successfully assigned the throttles and prop pitch 1 to the direct yoke quadrant, and they work as desired. I then assigned the prop pitch 2 and the two mixture contrrols to the USB quadrant. Hello, I just purchased this fantastic product (used to fly here a lot in P3D) and to my greatest disappointment, the scenery has parked static planes in the gates. Anyone has an idea how to get rid of them? I fly with PSXT, hence those statics are like a dog's fifth leg. TIA.

My buddy is working on an accurate simbrief profile for the new 74, and it came to my attention that he wasn’t loading fuel correctly. This is a very rough “how to” load fuel properly using the word not allowed in-sim payload manager, until WT incorporates a built in W&B manager. He’s writing to GSX to see if they can change the fueling through the manager there by reading the simbrief profile, but my guess is they use the same default load planner. Main tanks 1&4 must be full prior to adding fuel to reserve 1&4. Mains 1&4 can only be full if mains 2&3 have equal to or more than full tanks 1&4 + reserve. Only after Mains 1&4, 2&3,…

Well as I have been experienced recently (before I knew about this), all my recent flight ceased to work with the message pop up about lost network connection, low bandwidth after 10 mins or so with default aircraft even, the sim froze and I had to kill it with task manager. I did not follow the discussion about this topic lately. So I'll ask here. I have AIG installed and FSLTL. It works fine; lots of traffic at busy airports and in the air. But there are are problems with taking off, taxiing to gates, taxiing to rwy atc. I own EGGP from digital design. Taxiing to the rwy seems fine, but the AI AC doesn't contact the tower at the holding point. It just turns to the rwy (27) and then nothing. It stops at the runway. I've set the timer in FSLTL at 120 seconds. So just afther 120 secs the AC just disappears and has never made a takeoff. I dont' know if it's the same at rwy 09. Hi, few days ago I bought discounted MSFS 2020 on Steam and made transition from MS Game Pass. Everything works fine, but I lost my data (tear and wear status and over 300 hours which I flew) in Blackbird c310. Does anyone knows is that data saved or backed up somewhere in my PC and can I transfer it to my plane in Steam. Regards, Pere

Firstly, I apologise if this topic already exists - I am in a rush to post this so I haven't had time to look properly. I've been using Weather Force for a long time and I haven't had an issue with it until the last sim update. Since then, when I'm flying the Fenix I am getting what seems like crazy wind gusts or some sort of severe turbulance and it's especially noticable when I am on approach and at lets say 3000ft. My aeroplane is literally being shook around and swings side to side as well as pitching the nose up and down. It stops as soon as I stop the weather injection.. Hi, Most of the time I fly with P3D5.3 and now 5.4. I own MSFS since the release of it, but only have flown for 89 hours since I bought it. Now I wanna give it a serious try. And perhaps I will stay with it. Depends on what P3Dv6 will bring. Okay, I have two simple questions. In a week or two I will build a new state-of-the-art PC. I do that every 3 years. Hey guys, I'm new here and have a quick question. I've been playing and enjoying MSFS 2020 on my xbox series s for just over 18 months. Due to life, I haven't been able to play for a couple of months and today when I switched on, I was presented with a mandatory update of around 989 GB's. I only have 139GB' S free on my xbox hard drive. My console is a dedicated MSFS console so I have no other content installed. Is there any way I can skip the mandatory update and continue playing "out of date" so to speak? I am feeling like I have to now invest in some significant external storage which I am disappointed about as I was happy with the game content prior …

In another topic it was suggested that a topic in which ATC addons would be compared would be quite handy. Now we can wait for one guy who owns all ATC addons to create such a topic or a video on YT but maybe it's also an idea to start with a topic in which we try to find out what we all want to see in an ATC addon. And once we've got a rather complete list of features we can add which ATC addon has which feature. This way, after some time, if everyone who owns one of the mentioned ATC addons chimes in, we will all be able to choose the ATC that is best for your specific set of wishes.
