Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Just a couple of quickies. I'd not taken much notice of this before now but saw it in some screenshots and thought I'd have a play with it. First question - is this aircraft particularly known for being a big resource user? It may just be that MSFS has been having one of its slow days today but I found using this aircraft is reducing my framerate by about 25-30%. Tried it at EDDS and KOMA, same both locations. Next - I saw some passenger cabin interiors on flightsim.to, but can't see any way of getting in to the passenger cabin on this aircraft. I am a long time user of Gaist ship traffic and really do appreciate all the hard work. I have been using the V2 Beta since it came out and have had no problems with it. I would like to ask this question directly of the author on Flightsim.to but comments and questions are disabled. I have installed the Gaist Ultra folder and the NorthAmerica routes folder in my Community folder after removing all prior versions of the Gaist ship traffic addons. Now, with V3 I see NO ships of any kind, no matter how I set the traffic sliders (starting at 5 and going to 100). I have tested in San Diego where I used to see a lot of traffic and just now in Long Beach California…

One of my preferred activities in fligth simming is simulating airline operations in "nasty" weather scenarios. About a week ago I installed almost all of the flight plans in AIG. I located the file in my Addons Linker subsystem. When the process completed it looked like everything was successful. The AI Manager showed all of the flight plans installed, etc. Today I open the AI Manager and it shows no flight plans installed. I checked that all the AIG files were still right where they belong, but nothing shows installed. Anyone have any insights as to what is going on? I sure would prefer not to have to load everything again. I have the file (47GB) with all the data but AI Manager is screwed up somehow.

Anyone already made a comparison between ASOBO EDDK (in city update 4) and Aerosoft EDDK? I read the FPS on the Aerosoft is terrible.

Been away again for a while...just wondering if there are any improved systems or apps available yet for instant replays that make viewing landings easier and quicker instead of using the drone cam system (aka flyby views, ground view near runways, etc)? If not, has there been any mention of something like this for fs2024?

Hi, I recently started using VATSIM with msfs and I am curious of something.I noticed that every British airways flight is referred to as ,,speedbird’’ and I was wondering: if I want to make a BA flight, which callsign do I enter in V-pilot when I connect to VATSIM, the standard BAW callsign and just be referred to as speedbird, or is there a special callsign?

Hello, I need your help guys...when I try to set up a flight in world map, it doesn't show the airports. I tried to type in the search bar but nothing shows. I opened the filter and airports are checked on. I don't know what to do? The only way I fly is by choosing a departure as city and start in mid flight. Your help is appreciated. Thank you!!

Hi, I recently flew the flybywire a320 and it was really good except for one thing. When I started my descend, I selected my desired altitude and started a managed mode descend. Usually other aircraft descended at about 1800-2300 feet per minute but this aircraft straight up started to go 4500-5000 ft per minute. Obviously I reach my altitude too early and I had to hold my flight level for a few minutes, before starting the descent again. I was wondering, am I doing anything wrong, is there any solution to this? ps: in the fenix a320 I did the same thing and it worked perfectly.

When I reverted to the non beta version of MSFS, the overhead toolbar would no longer show up with the mouse: Yay! I'm afraid when the SU is officially released that the mouse generated toolbar will comeback: Boo! Is there a way to make sure that no mouse movements will ever boot up the toolbar? ------------ By the way even though I no longer have the mouse generated toolbar, I can still display the toolbar by assigning the command TOGGLE TOOLBAR to a keyboard key which I can then call up with a StreamDeck button hotkey.

I have used the Boeing MCP2 from VRInsight for many years with P3D in combination with the paid version of fsuipc. I have all of @guenseli profiles for LINDA as well. I understand he no longer does LINDA and has moved on to Axis and Ohs which I understand is similar to LINDA? My question is, can one use the VRInsight MCP2 in MSFS with fsuipc and I guess now Axis amd Ohs in a similar fashion as my MCP2/fsuipc/LINDA configuration in P3D? Thank you

What are some must have global scenery add-ons that enhance the sim... I'm talking about add-ons that work across the world or at least a broad region. Ideally minimal impact to performance. Please mention if they are freeware or payware. I'm guessing a few good ones I've used in the past are: - GAIST (ship traffic) - what's the FPS impact? I'm wondering why no one develops the venerable Boieng 707. It was a great aircraft. Any idea?

Not sure what I expected, but after testing the Cirrus Jet update I think I expected at least some of long-standing issues to be resolved. The aft-facing front-right passenger seat is still pushed into the side of the fuselage (has been since launch). The cabin carpet is still absurdly low resolution (and unrealistic scale). The markings for the electrical switch panel are so low in resolution they are illegible (this is a new issue). On the Cirrus Jet the aircraft menu has been moved to an iPad. The HJet still uses the MFD (unrealistic). It surprises me that some of these issues passed beta testing, much less a release well after initial release. I find …

Hi ! A tip seen on the Jetstream Designs FB page: open your MSFS options menu -> General options -> Experimental. - look for "Package reorder tool", and set it to "ON". - this will open a new window. Look for the scenery you want to move and click on the right arrow next to it. This will move the scenery at the bottom of the list. 😉

As long as I have been flying MSFS I have never seen any ship traffic. I have GAIST ULTRA Ver. 3 and have selected 100% Ship Traffic. I did see one yacht at Hong Kong Harbor. Am doing something wrong ? Dave

Did a simbrief flight from KBDL to KBWI. Landing BWI on Runway 33L. Flew it twice and there was no runway 33L. Sky Vector, Simbrief and Navigraph charts shows there is a 33L. But in the world map it shows only a 33R. Seems to be a FS2020 glitch no? Anyone else have this issue?
