Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I must admit that I'm finding the entire WT thing rather confusing. I know that one or some of their work is now the standard "default" in MSFS but which? What exactly is in there now and what is using it? The reason I'm asking is this is that I'm flying about in the BS TBM 850 and I use the PMS GTN750 with the added WTT file so that it's working correctly. However, that aircraft has the ability to run a GTN 530 alongside it. Is that GTN 530 just the MSFS orginal default? Or is it the WT one which is now default? Or is the WT GNS 530 still not default yet? If it's not in the sim can I install the WT version and run it alongside the PMS GTN 750? Or are the two incompa…

If you use addon linker, you don't need to know this, but if you don't, her is a useful little program to create symbolic links thus creating more space on the drive you have msfs on: https://github.com/arnobpl/SymlinkCreator You can use it to move addon files off of your drive onto another drive and still have them show up in your community folder without taking up any space or indeed move your entire community folder. I setup a flight. Half way through I decided to quit and save the flight. Later when I went back to the flight of course the flight plan was not saved. I was about 20 miles from the star. So I set direct to the beginning of the star. Before that I set the star and approach for the airport/runway in my Garmin. My question. Does anyone know how to save the flight plan/position with the flight. Of course I can pause and leave the computer running till I decide to continue the flight. But, I don't like that idea. Hi everyone, So I caved in after seeing the Steam sale in and bought the new sim, after years of using FSX, (which I haven't abandoned yet!). Obviously there's lots to learn, particularly the keyboard button or control device assignmemts. I use the Thrusmaster HOTAS X, and find it a bit tricky to configure it with the FS. Long story short my fuel temp drop in flight. Shortly after engine stopped. I was a bit slow to react but managed several tries of air restart. Unfortunately, "starter" circuit braker tripped. Resetting didn't brought "no joy". Eventually my battery drained and I opted ditching! Well I'll be darn I'm still alive ! LOL

When Simbrief calculates a route and altitude is it taking into consideration the winds or is it just searching for routes? I wonder because sometimes it gives me lower altitudes than I would expect for the flight and sometimes rather long routes and am wondering if it has calculated that the winds are more favourable for a faster flight with a longer routing at a lower altitude as a result of winds.

Initially I did fly the Vulcan in ready for take off modus. Now I tried to start following cold and dark procedures and find that the separate AEO and Navigator panels are not functional. When I hover with the mouse over various switches or buttons or hatches, these almost all light up in blue, but none of these buttons can be switched/activated. What do I do wrong or is it intended that way?? My perception is that all panels are designed to be functional. Many thanks for your feedback.

I just loaded up the 737, and a message popped up about notifications. I looked in Assistance and every setting was on easy. How the heck does that happen?

I have just noticed that all of the airport addons that I have installed in the Community folder are not being displayed in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Is there anything that I need to do after installation to get them working? I should note that I have MSFS installed on my D:\ drive, but the relevant Community folder is actually located on the C:\ drive. The payware aircraft that I have installed there works perfectly fine, but the airports do not. Can anyone help?

Hi there, Just a quick heads up. I've been trying to improve the realism/immersion with MSFS. I've found that playing with NVIDIA filters (Tilt-shift) is possible to create a "DOF" similar to what the human eye experience. IMHO paired with trackir or similar hardware it gave me a completely new experiences. It is also a solution for those of us looking to use the focus mode in the cockpit. Below is a quick screenshot.

Whenever I land at any airport, none of the ai aircraft (FSLTL/AIG) is connected with a jetway. The only way to connect them is to reset FSLTL after landing. I'm not using GSX until now but would do if GSX connects them automatically.

I'm done with Trackir. Clearly they don't support the product. Their forum has loads of the same complaint. Trackir crashes the computer on startup to the point it needs to be a forced shutdown. This has been going on for months and there only response is "Have you tried this or that?" There drivers no longer work in Windows so I think It's time to move on. Any recommendations? I'd like something with a target as opposed to a face tracker.

Cannot get rudder trim to work. The profile is default and it’s assigned to two of the C buttons but the do nothing ie the horizontal switch on the right of the yoke handle if I try and reassign them they do not react any suggestions cheers

I have an ultrawide monitor that is great. I fly the Fenix. Is there a Captains profile out there that doesn't stretch the entire view to the first officer side? Ideally i'd like to have a more realistic viewpoint from the captain flying perspective. I was curious for those using an Ultrawide and the Fenix what you are using. I have a 49" UW monitor

I can't find any reference to this anywhere. I can't get the throttles to work right. They sit at idle throughout the controller's range until I get to max, at which point they pop right up to max. Pulling the physical throttles back slightly drops them to idle again. It's acting like it's not calibrated, but I don't see anywhere to calibrate them in the plane/tablet. I'm using SPAD with a Bravo. Throttles are set to just be the throttle axis. I've tested in other planes and they're working fine, so the controller didn't suddenly die on me or anything. Any hints? I don't know whether the GSX developers were eating magic mushrooms when they were creating the passengers for GSX Pro! They all seem to have some kind of physical problem when walking, or look as though are moving across a bed of nails! (tongue in cheek) Having seen the almost 'human like' figures created in DCS and other similar games, I wonder if it would not be possible to have this standard of modelling for our beloved passengers in GSX. Perhaps in an update or a new version?

The g1000 is not working for me inside the fsreborn. For instance after a FPL is loaded i cannot get the Cursor key to activate in the FPL by pressing the inner key. Also under systems I get Subscription Required?? Sign in? What am I missing?
