Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Just did a flight from KPAE to KPDX, and had my worst experience with Beyond ATC yet. 1st issue, there was no option to request clearance at the gate. 2nd issue, when I selected autotune it was tuning some frequencies that were not requested by BATC, and were not on the charts. Worse than that, when I disable BATC auto tune, it would not allow me to tune any other frequency, and kept flicking back immediately to the ones it was auto tuning previously. It worked for pushback and engine start, then taxi, and departure clearance but that was it. Once airborne, it had a mind of it's own. I had one pretty successful flight previously. So with the MSFS 2024 presentation, Jorg went into depth how they are using AI and satellite/photogrammetry data, to render the entire world even in more detail in MSFS 2024, with more accurate biomes and vegetation, rock placement, etc. It's obvious the goal of Microsoft is to make a global engine that can render the entire world in 3D, in high detail. The problem with using the MSFS 2020 global engine as it is right now, is that things are very rough, not detailed, and can look poor at the ground level. Looking at doing a reinstall of MSFS this eve before installing the 777. Having a performance issue I can't seem to troubleshoot. Also, the sim keeps crashing when I try to go from a flight to the main menu Anyway, that I don't mind. Is there an ini file for Fenix which i can save so I don't have to reinput the throttle detents when I reinstall it? I know MSFS is cloud based so it saves controller settings, but are there any other files worth saving? Thanks

Hello everyone, It has been almost fifteen years when the last time I used MSFS. I about to get back into it and need a little help or suggestions monitor setup. I have purchase the FV12 - Dual Screen Dual Encoder Touch Panel Kit from Flight Velocity which will be sitting on top of my Honeycomb Yoke and Throttle. This is my problem the two Dell monitors will be too low because of the dual touch screen displays from Flight Velocity and I have no way to adjust them higher. My idea is to remove the two 27-inch monitors and purchase one 32 inch monitor. I am on a budget but is willing to pay a little more for performance. Do I need a 4K monitor? Please give me re…

Jorg Neumann could just be the biggest name in Flight sim history. Incredible what he has done for the industry in just 5 years. Just had to share my thought as I watch stream from Vegas. I have been unable to get the Please select the path, where AIGAIM will place its addon-folder! When I redirect it to move it to my D drive It says AIGAIM-OCI will use the following directory: D:\aig-aitraffic-oci-beta Fine I then click the OK and it tells me Process will now start, depending on the size it might take some time! If you want to make a backup, do it now. Fine I then click the OK and it tells me Unable to move directory! Please do the following: 1)Make a backup 2)Remove your OCI package from Community etc. I have been unable to do any of the above Please can somebody assist !

Hello Gang! After installing lossless scaling and hitting the "scale" button for the first time, I can no longer do alt/enter to enter or exit windowed vs full screen mode. When I launch the sim it automatically goes into full screen mode and if I hit alt/enter to access any other program, the screen goes from full screen to a bigger form of full screen and no option to select other programs. Super weird. Any of you geniuses out there have any ideas how to tackle this one? Thanks!

Hi all- I've been looking at these four sources for some purchases I'm considering. Is there a preference/advantage to one or the other? Being new to MSFS I have only one right now, the Carenado PC12, that I was flying regularly in P3D. Looks and flys great except for the dark cockpit which still seems dark after I turn all the lights on including the dome light. Might be an adjustment somewhere in the sim I'm not familiar with. Anyway, I'm leaning towards purchasing from the developer if nothing else from a support aspect. Let me know what the pifalls and upside are. I'm interested in your experiences. Mark

When I move my (mouse) pointer over the instruments panel especially the Garmin G1000 it display an explanation of whatever is under that (mouse) pointer which sometimes gets in the way of selecting say the outer or inner FSM knob. I have tried 'turning off' a few things but cannot stop the 'assistance'. Please advise what 'assistance' need turning off. Thanks

I suspect it will. Just like MSFS 2020, which I ran, in a satisfactory fashion, for many years on a rig with 8gigs of system memory and a graphics card that hadn't got new drivers in years. I got ridiculed by the champagne crowd with their caviar and truffles graphics cards.😁 Similarly, I strongly suspect that MSFS 2024 will run just fine on this gens current mid- to low-spec hardware.

Lately I can't get MSFS to load a plane onto the runway of my choice. I've tried selecting my runway on the World Map screen in a number of different ways, namely using the drop down below the name of the selected airport on the upper left side of the screen, using the runway list on the right side of the screen, and by clicking directly on the map. And I always ending up with a green dot on the departure end of the selected runway. But once the plane loads, it ends up on the MSFS default runway. Happens with Developer Mode on or off. This is a relatively new problem for me, but I don't know what might have changed. I'm using the MS PC version of the sim and Win10. …

I sure hope so, because MSFS 2020 is severely lacking in this respect, with the default Citation Longitude being pretty much the only viable option for long range business travel. The Cirrus Vision Jet, the Honda Jet, the Phenom100 - itty bitty puddle jumpers.

I thought FlyInside announced they were releasing a new helicopter this weekend at FSExpo, but I can't see any new offerings on their site. Did they actually mean upcoming release?

Do we know the real answer why the 777 is delayed over and over. When Rob was speaking on you tube video he was very confident it will be release within 2 weeks and 2 months and he said around one month I believe. Now, it seems like there is no date in sight. I know they are adding polishes apparently but the whole 777 hype is dead for me. It was an overkill with the promised "oh its coming very soon, not too long now, its on approach", etc...
