Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Sim version 1.4.14.0 nVidia Driver 576.20 Win 11 23H2 current I enjoyed several extended sim sessions since Steam upgraded my Beta to 1.4.14.0. Rock steady 60 FPS (capped) High and Ultra settings LODs>200. Lots of detailed airports and scenery. Long flights in the Honda Jet at altitude and low level brush runs in the C182. All was good yesterday and today. Then, this evening, the sim started "freezing" and would not recognize any input from any device. The sounds coming out were a blurpy static burst of about 1/2 second every three or so seconds. Once that started I could only kill the sim with Task Manager or Alt+F4. However, I have flown the Azure Poli Jaguar with EGUL and EGUN sceneries installed in MSFS2024, and made quite a few flights with this beautiful bird. It looks absolutely gorgeous from inside the cockpit and from outside, flies very smooth and stable and has many very attractive features installed. Flying the Jaguar feels very immersive and performing approaches and landings as well as low level high speed flights are spectacular. This is probably me not doing something quite right, but it has happened three times now, so I thought that I would mention it. Basically, I am on final using an RNAV approach, and VNAV PTH suddenly switches to VNAV ALT, and there is a surge in engine power. Now, at this point my approach speed is perfectly normal (and the barber poles are miles away on the FMA). It is not something that I have experienced in the past, but three times in recent weeks is making me wonder if I am missing something. There is sale going on the 2020 marketplace, I wanted to grap EHAM but it's not on sale on the market place 2024. If I buy it on the 2020 MP will it work on MSFS 2024? even i am not a huge fan of buying there beacuse of inconvience, it's very cheap.

I'm learning how to auto-land the 738 to runway ILS 10R. There are lots of errors shown in this YouTube video for sure. What did I miss? How come I can't get both CMD-A and CMD-B to work concurrently for auto-landing ? Should I have pressed the VOR/LOC and APP button at some point, and when? Today is the first time that I noticed default ATC liveries with proper names like United, Delta, Alaska Airlines ecetera. Waited a long time for that to happen and it just makes 2024 rock and roll a bit more. dd

I can't find any animated sea creatures such as dolphins and orcas which existed in FSX scenery YET I saw a youtube MFS2020 video featuring a floatplane at Isla San Cristobal which showed animated dolphins. Does anyone know of any animated dolphins available to add to scenery. Thanks

I would like to express a “wish” item here to see if anyone has a solution. Our always-helpful friend @MattNischan has recently indicated that the Working Title EFB “is now the primary flight planning interface in the sim.” (here) The problem is that the EFB cannot consistently read a flightplan in the common *.pln format. (It cannot consistently read either a FS2020 or a FS2024 format *.pln.) My own experience, repeated frequently by others, is that often the EFB cannot read a flightplan such as “FLIGHT.PLN”. When you add someone as a friend in msfs 2024 what does it actually achieve?, it appears to have no useful function, least none I can find What it does it do?

Just noticing this in MSFS 2024 seems like on most planes I get this flickering about twice a second. Is this from the lossless app or frame gen (just use fsr not dlss). Any ideas? Thanks

I'm just getting back into flight simming after about a 7 yr hiatus. Previously used P3D V3 or V4, can't remember, bought them both. I recently purchased V5.4 because I've spent hundreds of dollars in add-ons that are still compatible. I literally just started using it a couple of days ago. My question is, is it worth it for me to purchase MS2024 at this time? It looks beautiful, but sounds kind of glitchy. I'm not the most patient man in world and pretty novice at fixing software problems. I know I'll probably get it eventually, but is today the time? Thanks, Tom P.S. Hi all, Still lurking around happily simming with P3D at the moment. One day (after I upgrade - holding off upgrading till I am ready to make the switch) I'll probably have to move over. Things that really put me off at the moment include the general lack of a decent weather radar (my love of historical weather is sorted by ActiveSky now - means I can plan a flight carefully and fly it the next day, or any other day really). I saw something about Fenix doing something, but didn't know what the general state of it is. Are there glimmers of hope of weather radar becoming better? Cheers, Rudy

I shut down MS 2020 with task manager. Next flght, started 2020 and everything on the sim is reset, controls, everything. What do they have at Asobo doing this programming, morons?

My question is: when you look out the windshield and see contrails from other aircraft, how far away are the farthest contrails that you can see? (In MSFS 20204.) I could guess... it looks like 10 miles to me, maybe 15. But I'd love an empirical answer to this. Does anyone know? PSXTraffic lets you exclude injected traffic outside a certain radius. I'm wondering what the "event horizon" of that radius is, so that I can exclude traffic that would never be visible. Thanks.

What is the big deal about the 200 being released for 2024? Just that it is on 2024? Why would you not spend time bringing the 737 and the 777-300 to the platform first? I understand the soundscapes are an upgrade. Even one of the early reviews is done on 2020 and not 2024. What am I missing? Money?

Hello, I'll make this quick. I uninstalled MS2020 (drive M:) + all addons a few months ago. I installed MS2024 on a new drive (N:). I kept this M drive for a while with the files that remained after MS2020 was uninstalled. All was well. I have reinstalled a lot of addons Then I finally reformatted the M drive and changed the letter to D Today I decided to reinstall some planes from justflight.com and all the installations crashed. Everybody in the VR section already knows this. But maybe you folks who do not have a VR helmit might not realize. In VR, with 2024, when in the 3rd person where you can see your character walk: all you have to do is to turn your head left or right and the character will stop walking straight ahead and change to that direction. No keys or buttons are necessary, just move your head. For instance, if you slightly turn your head, then he will slightly change direction. Or turn you head more and his heading change will be greater.
