Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Greeting. Hope this is the correct place to ask this..... New to FS2020 and have been looking at some tutorials i find online, one thing puzzeles me, all videos i see, when they make a flight plan lets say low alt airw. the plan is loaded into the aircraft when they start the sim. Just curious if there is a way to change the Map setting from "North Up" to "Track Up" in the G1000 in MSFS 2020. I haven't been able to figure it out. Thanks. Rodger

I don't know if anyone else is having this issue, but my heading indicator constantly drifts to the point I can pause the plane and watch it move. This has to be be more than simple gyro drift. In fact, I tried turning on the gyro drift auto calibration to see if that changed anything, but it made no difference. At first I thought it might have to do with the controls. I am running with a Honeycomb Alpha yoke, a Thrustmaster throttle and rudder peddles. I also have a Thrustmaster G1000 stick as well as TrackIR. I've had this for a couple weeks or so and have performed flights in the USA, Europe, and Africa. My system is a 9700K cpu not overclocked, 2070 super video card, 32GB 3000MHz memory, 2560x1440 display. I'm using the following graphics settings: frames locked at 30fps, TAA antialiasing, terrain LOD 150, object LOD 200, supersampling 4x4, anisotropic 8x. Post processing sharpen, fringe, filmgrain, and vignette are turned off. Also using process lasso to disable windows dynamic thread boosting. Performance is excellent on my system. Smooth scenery flow with no stuttering. I had some low fps when taxiing around LFPG so turned down terrain LOD to 150 and that c…

Airports don't have to come with big areas around them, MSFS does not need that only key building but not all the PR etc like P3D Simwings LEBL. Good news for developers it will lower their time and cost to develop. I still want addon airports but this is more I think the focus of Orbx will be going forward. Hi guys, I'm really struggling to get anything working on fs2020. I have tried 4 different livery downloads, none worked. Firstly the megapack, downloaded it, extracted it and placed it in the community folder, nothing showed up in the game, so after a suggestion I then tried to put the contents of the megapack into the community folder, that hasn't worked as windows won't copy it across " filename too long error" " you don't have permission" errors, "pathway too long" error.... It's driving me back to fs2004!! Could anyone post me some really simple step by step instructions for the megapack? I'm usually good with file movement and structure, but can't g…

How di I reinstall MS2020 having it purchased thru MS store? I am having an issue with the sim not loading up. It goes into a constant loop. goes to press any key after 10 minutes, then asks to press any key again, this will go on forever. I reported problem to zendesk, but that will take time. In the mean time, I decided to try the uninstall/reinstall. Gnacino

...and I had my first flight in 11 hours now where despite displayed GPU & CPU utilization being quite good frame rate went into the toilet and it became unflyable. Man, wish I could undo this patch things really we very good until now! I'm sure they will fix this quickly if enough folks report. I guess I need to go to the zendesk.

Hello! So i decided to give the Mooney from Carenado a try...searched it up in the marketplace and clicked buy. I was expecting some payment method site to show up but instead the button just turned dim saying "purchase pending". I am a steam version user. Is there something i am missing? I can't even cancel the progress if theres something wrong. Can anyone help me out with this? Best regards, Tom

For me the patch hasn’t really changed much. My FPS seem worse though it could be the (fake) fog that I was flying through that didn’t exist out my window. At this point, the graphics don’t really wow much as just wanting functioning avionics, weather, and flight models. I might try again when VR comes out, but I am starting to regret falling for the hype. If you want to show people your house, great; if you want to learn how to operate an aircraft, look elsewhere.

Just wonder whether anyone has already figured this out. If you have two scenery addons for, say, London, and put both of them into Community folder. Which one will loaded in MSFS? Is it determined by the alphabetical order of the scenery folders?

Hi all Ever since the new update it seems I can no longer get my default a320 to follow the flight plan approach inputted into the fms. I can see it on the display in front of me but the aircraft while on autopilot wont follow the final approach . Anyone else seeing this? Don

We know you really want to get started, but you’ll have to wait a bit longer. Check the store for the launch date. This is in blue what I get on my screen after hitting the fs2020 button... On 18 augustus I have ordered the Gamepass try-out for 1 euro and 2 weeks later I bought the complete Ultimate edition and was getting the full version and this one worked perfect until today. Today is also the day my Gamepass ended so I tried to get to find the .exe file but get no access to the folder. Help will be appr.

Does anyone knows how to switch off the clouds reflection on the water? the reflection is so ridicules, it's like they mirrored the clouds of the sky on the water. it feels like your plane (you flying) sandwich between two skies. I feel like the Movie "upside down" where two planes are back to back sharing the skies and see the other backwards (and you can hop between each other). Check my Video to see what I mean , you can see I am flying as low as 800ft for those of you that would probably say "you are flying above some clouds"...No i am not, it's the to dominant cloud reflection

Maybe I’m going mad but I can’t figure out how to set the low level visibility in fs2020. In fsx you could set cloud layers and surface vis distance but I can’t see where to do this in the new one?

I have been flight simming since the dawn of time, I have seen it all, I am a GA pilot (not current), I am involved in air search and rescue as a spotter and navigator. For the first time in history we can finally do true VFR flying. I can recreate search flights, prep for future searches and overall have my neck of the woods at my fingertips, British Columbia, Canada in my case. Anyone still notice that except A320, other ACs such as 787, 748 has no strobe lights reflection and also issues with taxi and lights as those don't illuminate the ground, will they fix this issues soon.

The G1000, in various aircraft models, had very limited function after the update. I removed it from my Community folder and all is now well. Just advising.

Hi - I've never really spent a lot of time with ATC in sims, but am trying to now, specifically in fs2020. I have some general questions and wondering if someone can give me some high-level responses... Departure: I'm doing VFR flights with a C172. When I start a flight at parking I can pick up ATIS and tune to Ground and request taxi clearance, and I can switch to Tower when holding short and request takeoff clearance. Once I get that, I'm pretty much done with ATC other than "I'll let you know when you're out of my airspace." I don't get any vectors for my takeoff direction (I have no other planes in the sky despite having tried to set that up, thinking so…

Just checking the iOS app and comparing datas: Most recent METAR at LDDU : LDDU 171900Z 04020KT 340V080 CAVOK 29/12 Q1011 TEMPO 03020G30KT So it says winds at 20kts gusting at 30kts. Now I launch my iOS Meteoblue app and it says winds at 24km/h. So the real winds are double to triple what Meteoblue shows. Windy that also uses forecast models shows winds at 18kts with gusts at 24kts so Windy is accurate. There is also an official alert by the Croatian weather forecasters for high winds. It’s even available in the iOS Weather app through weather.com Based on this, Meteoblue is proving to be absolutely inaccurate.
