Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Maybe not the right choice of words.Not so much the tool tips, I have them turned off. I'm talking about when you hover the mouse over a switch for instance altitude, it spells out which way to turn it and what it is. I dont want anything to show on the screen when i hover over it

I have set up MSFS so that I can use the C172 with rather good performance. Then I tried the A320 NEO from the same airport (ESGP) and I experienced severe stutters. Is this normal i.e is the A320 this hard on performance ? If so I fear that any third party airliners like for example the PMDG 737 is out of reach for me. And this was a small airport not close to big cities.

Hi, right now I am trying to install MSFS from Germany. But I am stuck at 24 % because "fs-base-0.1.61.fspackage.004" doesn't complete. Every time it downloads about a few 100 MBs of that file then starts from the beginning. I already tried restarting the installer and restarting my PC. Nothing seems to help. Any advice?

I now see a Checking for Updates window popup during loading of the sim. Is this new with the recent update, or did I somehow enable something without realizing it. It's not important, just curious. I also see a Legend associated with the World Map -- don't recall seeing that before either. Age problem, maybe? 🤔 Al

Hey yall, Just got the new flight sim and I was setting up my yoke an throttle and my yoke is detected by ny computer but not the throttle. The throttle light is on but has no detection on my computer. The yoke works great although it sometimes cuts out and I have to unplug and plug it back in. I have a power supply usb giving it extra power as I'm using a msi gaming laptop. If someone has had these issues and could help that would be great! I've un stalled and re installed the drives and the throttle can't be detected Thanks much!

How can I get the AST VOR to show up on the main blue ? You can see all VOR's even low ones that are 100nm away with DIS and BRG when they should be 40nm.

Hi all! Today I have installed the new patch, but I got a new strange problem, what I never saw before. I start on my home airport with cold & dark state and strictly follow all check lists. When I get items about engines start, I start engine 2, wait for stable, then start engine 1, wait for stable, but approximately after one minute Eng1. suddenly shut-down. Eng2 is still running OK, but Eng1 do not work and isn't possible start it again. I use only the basic default A320Neo without the community mod. Before patch i flew A320Neo without problem, but now I'm not able take-off at all. Someone has the same problem?

Not trying to start a rumour, but just wondering if MS can push an update without notifying us in the opening screen. I am asking because I have seen some 'faults' get mysteriously fixed without me having made any changes at all...just start the game and something not working yesterday works today, or unfortunately, vice versa. Am I the only one who experienced that? It would be great if they could/would fix things without our knowledge 😄

I started a flight with the engines running and no problem. But then I shutdown the engines and tried a restart and nothing happens. No way to restart from keyboard command either even if I restart the game from scratch. Start switch is jittery and prop does not turn. Also, when the engine was running, the navigation screen was flashing. The G1000 model starts ok though...it’s just the classic with steam gauges that is acting up. It was all working before but broke after the update. Coincidence?

Hello All Hope everyone is enjoying the upgrade etc I am flying the Cessna's with the camera in normal pilots head position. I am finding the digital instruments very hard to read without zooming in specifically. [No rude comments about new glasses or sit closer to the screen please!!] Is there a particular setting that might help improve this please Thanks

The autopilot on all aircraft either won't engage or shuts off during flight. Also the left Garmin shuts off and on during flight. Anyone else having this issue? Is there a switch I need to hit now?

Ok so my new cpu, motherboard and cooler arrived today, and I've spent the afternoon installing them. So booting up on a fresh install of win10 home on my new nvme ssd, I just have to comment how increadibly slow the ms storefront is. It takes forever to load in, and my library hasnt showed up yet after 4 reboots...

My Cessna 172 G1000 is gone!!! I can't select it from the game, and it's now missing from my Packages folder as well. The only thing I can think of is that my upgrade crashed and I had to restart it, so maybe it was in the process of upgrading the Cessna when it crashed, and thus it got deleted... This breaks my heart, because I really love this plane. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get MSFS to reinstall this one plane without having to reinstall the entire sim from scratch? Is there a "validate install" or "repair program" option hidden away somewhere? If there is, will it force a reinstall to just fix one missing plane? If that is the case, then I'…

Good evening, Although the performance has improved overall, i am observing some more stuttering whil flying throuh clouds. Especially when looking straight forward. I used to have volumetric clouds set to ultra but now have to reduce it to high in order to get a smooth flying. Anyone else experiencing this? I9-9900K RTX2080ti 32GB RAM etc. etc.

My observations: I have a i7-4770 with 16 GB RAM and a 6 GB GTX 1060 with a 1980x1200 16:10 screen. So my system is not the fastest, especially on the GPU side. Before the patch I could play every scenario with "High-End" settings, got 25 to 35 fps depending on where I was and had some but not very severe stutters. But: the GPU utilization did prevent a very visible scaling of the fps when changing settings. In my home town of Dresden (Germany) I had ~28 fps on high settings, only ~15fps on Ultra (unflyable because it was stuttering a lot), but always around 40 fps when flying with medium or low setting. It never ever went far over 45 fps regardless of settings or scen…

Hello, Is there a way to improve the world map resolution shown where you select your airports ? I cannot see any detail (towns, roads ) just airports and some POI. Details help you a lot to prepare a flight. Of course, I can prepare flights with another program, but it would be easier inside FS 2020 ! I only get Fusion, Satellite or Ifr maps. Google map or Openstreet map would be perfect ! Thanks in advance.

what settings will make my cockpit gauges and writing on switches more clear. mine seem awful blurry unless i zoom right up to them. Tjhanks, Bob

I was flying (Textron 172) into KAPF using the VOR RWY 5 VOR approach. I was at 3,500' on the runway heading inbound at 2 NM from the first waypoint in the approach (LEV). I had previously LOADED the approach. I pressed ACTIVATE and the flight plan / approach section suddenly had USER as the first waypoint at 5 NM at 90° to my current heading and then LEV appeared twice, at the correct bearing, but a distance of 9,500 NM. I tried to delete the USER waypoint but when I did the AP did a 360° and headed off to some unknown waypoint on a bearing that did not correspond to anything in the flight plan. Hello all, Since the new patch (1.8.3.0) I'm no longer able to adjust my controls sesitivity. All I get is an empty box with 'Sesitivity Done'. Any body else with this? Or am I overlooking something?

The first roplem is, after starting the engines, engine 1 shuts off after 2 min ??!! The second problem is that the flight plan is no longer imported into the FMS. ??!! i am alone with this bugs?

It only rains if the clouds are very low. If the clouds are a little high, the rain stops immediately. I don't know if this happens now after patch 1.8.3.0 or if it happened before. It's very weird!

I don't have the latest and greatest PC so I tend to fly clear skies. I have volumetric clouds set to low since I don't get any clouds. I found an option in the dev menu under options called Volumetric Clouds. It was checked by default. I unchecked it, saw no visual difference (still no clouds), but my FPS jumped from 27 to 32. You can save the setting, and then close the dev menu and it remembers this setting. Of course, if you want clouds they look bad.

I have limited amount of data I can download per month, so is there some way to start the sim without the need to download the patch until the monthly data allowance will be reset in a few days? If yes, how? It's not that I don't appreciate the patch, but again, my internet data is currently limited.
