Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I hope this is not a loaded question but I would like to know which flight sim website store is considered the most reliable, or maybe the top 3. I ask this only because not all add-ons will be in the in-game marketplace and will need to be purchased elsewhere. I had 5 or 6 places I used to purchase add-ons for FSX and prior as well as X-Plane but it is a small nightmare to manage all the various software keys and emails for re-installs, especially a year or more later after purchase. Anyone have a good central spot for purchases? I'm US based but not sure if that matters.

Hello pilots, So I set the thrust for take off and all of sudden the airplane drifts to the left....I checked the sensitivity options and it's not there after the patch, I read that the devs aware of this issue. But why did the plane drift? Don't tell me it's coz wind, coz I had wind before the patch and this problem never happened.

Hi All! Looking for some advice, settings wise as i have played around with a few things and i cannot figure it out. Certain parts of buildings are flickering within the sim. Seems to get better the closer i get any ideas on how to solve or what settings to play with? It mainly seems to show on airports with small details (fences, antennas, siding with lots of small details). I have settings set to ultra and my specs are: i7-7700 4.2ghz 16GB ram GTX1080ti Thanks in advance!!

After the patch all my carefully constructed custom views are gone and it looks like if you try to save custom views it does not save the zoom level. I saw there is a new function for "Pilot camera position can now be saved or reset" but that does not save the zoom level either. Anyone found a way to fix this. Really missing Chaseplane now.

I don't have any engine indicators and the large Map area is black. 80mm is cyan is all that I see other than the headings at the top which are all dashes. duh.

Went into icing conditions yesterday. Flipped on all the anti-ice. I noticed the de-ice boots were just clipping up through the ice, then clipping back down through the ice. They didn't actually get rid of the ice. Anyone else seeing that behavior?

I see no moving traffic in the airports or in the sky. Indeed, there're many planes on the ground, but no animation. There would be an addon like UT2? I really feel alone in the world lol

Hi, after installing the (very good) update we can't configuire joystick sensitivity and deadzones anymore. In my case I have a cheap joystick where I really have to have a 5 % deadzone, otherwise I keep turning all the time. Is there a config file where I can enter deadzone data manually?

Up until this point, I have been very happy with MSFS, as far as GA flying. Fantastic scenery! Much smoother than P3d v4! Room for improvement? Yes! But I have loved it! It's been great with only promise to get better! Last night, I fired up the simulator and clicked to allow the patch to install but I had to get some other things done so I didn't have time to do a flight before bed. Hi all! I have had this issue for quite a while. I'm running Windows 10 with everything up to date. The most recent Nvidia drivers, etc. The problem I have is this: When I download and install files such as MSFS or Orbx scenery through Orbx Central, my RAM usage slowly keeps creeping up. If I install enough items or big enough items, the RAM usage eventually gets to 100% and the computer becomes non responsive. So, as an example, after doing a clean deletion of my P3dv4.5 a while back, when reinstalling all my Orbx scenery through central, I would have to restart my computer after installing 5-10 sceneries to reset the RAM because it had crept up close to 100% …

Hello, Since I installed the last update , I'm no more able to start a flight 😞 The sim always crashes at around 75 - 80% of the flight loading screen (after clicking 'Start flight".) I resetted all the setting and cache to default, but no luck. I never had a CTD before. Will open a ticket to MS Support. Am I the only one to get this ??

After new update my tbm930 screen - centre one with map, is black, both L and R work fine. Anyone else getting this? This is hot-start on runway as well as ctrl+E from cold start on ramp.

It would be nice to have a decent weather map in the sim, specially when you plan your IFR flight. I would like to see the winds, the cloud layers etc provided in the weather map along the route you plan. Now you can just plan the waypoints and use the weather radar in the cockpit. Weather maps are very important part of the flight planning yet there is none in MSFS2020. Before my IFR flights I always check the IRL weather charts and weather info on departure and arrival airport from the internet or mobile application, but rarely they are 100% correct with the ingame live weather settings. Since this sim totally confuses me i need your advice. I got an I7 [email protected] with RTX2070. Most times i get constant limited by GPU and once i start panning or getting into a new area and make some turns or in the glass cockpits (even GA), i get that short spike stutter from 'limited by main thread' Since my overall CPU load at these times are only at maximum 25%, Will a I9-10900K or similar will make the main thread limitations to disappear ? As i see it, the sim currently only uses less than half of what my 5820K capable of. Am i wrong ? Thanks in advance !

i'm running at 4K with smooth motion, there are infrequent small stutters but I don't care. 🙂 My graphic setting is Ultra and I'm amazed how much CPU load now as has been shifted to the GPU. Over NYC late afternoon and night.

Since i have to have this value at around 40 to avoid the panning/loading stutter, can someone please tell me in a SIMPLE SHORT way what is this affecting ? I cant see visual difference only a difference in main thread behaviour. I was searching for it but all i found is that affecting airport traffic. It doesn't make sense because even being away from any airport its still causing main therd stutters.

Does anyone know how to get updates and patches if you have the DVD version?
