Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I used to be able to fly the Grand Caravan all over on auto with no problems. But all of a sudden, it won't catch the target altitude, whether I use VS mode or FLC mode. The only thing that's different is the patch that was released.

Should be out next month. Let’s see how it’s going to deal with the sim’s apparent “problems” with supersonic flight.

I've never really seen this discussed so I thought I'd mention it. After a flight is started and you are on the ramp or runway, you can still load a flight plan. No, it's not from inside the cockpit but you don't have to go back to the world map and reset everything. If you hit the escape button, you see the same load/save option that is seen on the world map. Problem is, if you try to load, only FLT files show up per the extension filter. But that doesn't stop the PLN files from loading, only showing up. If you type (*.PLN) for the file name and then hit OPEN, you will get your list the flight plans. Load as normal. I've complained lately that some of my favourite aircraft were broken by the recent patch. I made a flight today in the longitude and it worked, so it must have been me doing something wrong. On the other hand, one of the others I complained about was the Grand Caravan. I also did a flight in it this morning and it still had all the issues I mentioned before.

Hi, I downloaded the Atlantic City Skyline scenery and dropped the scenery folder in my the "community" folder on my C drive, user...local...packages ...etc as directed (MSFS "store version" is installed on a different drive). However, the scenery does not show in the sim. Is there a setting or extra step that I am missing?

Hi, does anyone have my problem: if I go to control > slect my controller and profile > click on Sensitivitybutton > I only get DONE, but no curves to be adjusted. Any suggestions are appreciated

We've seen a lot of outstanding videos the past few weeks about flying in MSFS2020. But here's a great video about walking around in the new sim. It's far more interesting than you probably think. I might also add that, even those simmers with truly antique computers can nonetheless enjoy the scenery at Ultra resolution when you're slowly strolling around on foot. Frame rates don't really matter. I've been a tester from Day One, and some of my most enjoyable experiences have been sitting beside a river or lake and letting the real-world weather create an atmosphere for me. When trying to fine tune a course on the OBS in C152 the knob only allow to tune in increments of 5 or 10 degrees. Is this fixed in 1.8.3.0 ? or is there any other way to fix it? Or maybe we need to wait for the talented boys at Asobo /Thomas

I was thinking that we can upload in one thread (just links) all the mods good or bad that are coming to MSFS 2020.. I’ve seen a couple like the 152 or the Baron.. After the Patch. my FPS is worse....my theory is that the patch addressed folks with older CPU's who were CPU bound. I have an I7-10700 but with a 1660ti card. Was great in the Beta and release versions. Now my GPU is 98% when the CPU is 14-20%. in urban areas like NYC, I'm starting to get from low 30's to a 14 FPS slideshow. So, I swallowed my pride and shifted from High settings to MEDIUM. FPS back in the 40's and smooth cockpit movement. The subjective quality is nearly the same. I'll save HIGH for scenic multiplayer flights where it matters.

It's happened a couple of times with me in the A5. I did a Miami to Key West flight, with a stop in Marathon. Maybe 60-90 minutes worth. Right near the end of the flight, the center screen partially froze. It stopped updating the map position, and most of the buttons didn't work, though the flight plan one did -- not that anything in the flight plan screen worked, and once I called it up, I couldn't get it to go away again because of the freeze. The commonality so far seems to be the length of flight. Anything that takes very long will end in a frozen gauge. Am I the only one, or have you guys seen it too?

No matter what level of detail I zoom in to - only airports show on the flight plan map. I can search for a navaid and when it is found - ONLY that one navaid appears on the map. If I select a different navaid - then that one appears but the previous one that was being displayed disappears. If I ADD each waypoint to the flight plan, after entering it's name in the search box, then the waypoint remains on the screen and the flight plan appears as normal. I applied the update last evening and this is the first time I have gone into the World Map / Flight planner.

I'm not able to "walk back" into the cabin of the Citation Longitude. Is the cabin not modeled?

I am referring to anything that has to do with water in the game. Such as the ocean, rivers, lakes, streams, waterfalls, ship AI traffic, shorelines, coral reefs, waves, whitecaps, sea life, etc. This will bring in a whole new level of immersion for VFR flying over bodies of water. At the moment it's lacking that feeling when flying over places like Hawaii, Bali, Tahiti, Okinawa, The Fiji Islands, Tora Bora, etc. There needs to be more activity and movement along the coastlines, would also be nice to here ambient wave noises based on how much wind activity there is currently depicted from current weather, etc.

I know there are a lot of people who are having a hard time getting MSFS to work properly, but I am sure Asobo /MS will sort those issues out eventually. Looking past the teething pains of a huge project like this I have to think the impact of MSFS will be huge in the industry. I am not just talking about the impact on P3D or XP either. There are going to be profound changes due to this project and approach. Assuming MSFS dominates the FS market, and I expect them to do that, consider the following... 1. Thought I would report this here in case anyone else has the problem and knows of a fix. I already reported to the MSFS Insider and eventually will to Zendesk. I only fly the A320 from the cold/dark at a gate. Pre-patch, it was great. Had pre-patch stutters and such, same as everyone. Post-patch seemed OK for about a week. Nothing changed in my system, it's a new 'puter. Windows 10 2004 updated version and all, all drivers up to date. No new windows updates. Now post-patch, I cannot get the A320 out of cold/dark. I do a flight plan, say KPDX to KLAX. Set it for a gate. Boot it up. External power is "Avail", I push it, nothing happens. The battery off lights no l…

That has never checked their FPS in the sim? I don’t even know how to do it. I couldn’t possibly care less. I set the global to Ultra, ran it, it runs smooth and looks wonderful. Good enough for me.

15-point-something GBs later, on a much-much-slower-than-my-usual-line-speed connection (12 hours of tapping my fingers ...) only to find the DA-62 is still glued to the ground and the Longitude still has a laughable fuel capacity. And something weird happening with my camera pre-sets/re-sets. Come on Asobo/Microsoft, we expect more than this. 🤷‍♂️

For anyone who is thinks to themselves "Flight simulator is fun but its just a game" - Vatsim definitely gives you a level of realism, it was truly everything that I hoped for and more. Greetings all.. okay been flying a lot in OnAir and noticed that whilst many of the airport sheets have ILS listed for the main runway, these do not appear in FS2020 in many cases. I will admit, I haven't looked at the sdk or anything yet, but has anyone done any write ups or anything or played with adding just an ILS approach to an existing airport in the sim? Not thinking yet of adding anything to those airports, just starting to build a file to add some of these ILS's 🙂 Thanks in advance Graham

hi guys I've been created my manual cache folder of 80GB (on D drive along with my MSFS2020 location on the same drive) and creating three regions already,, today when i come to delete that regions to create a new ones i found that am not able to click the manual cache section in the setting menu, its unclickable at ALL???? how to fix that plz Thx so much.

There are some ships in ocean waters but I've never seen any boats in lakes or rivers (slider for boats at 100%). Would increase immersion Iin my view. Hope that comes together with ther cosmetical but non essential things (like power lines that were added recently ) Edit: cranes on construction sites would also be great (shoud be possible to be recognized by AI) as they are also important in aviation (obstacles)
