Hi all, Surprised with so many tech experts nobody deduces the weird avionics and engine failures are a security glitch after the patch If you havent experienced, you will. Its random. For some it started on day 1 after the patch, others are getting after a few flights. Sometimes if you restart and fly another plane and start the same plane the problem goes away. But it always come back This indicates only ONE thing: a security problem with the encrypted stuff. MS Asobo should fix this immediately, it shouldnt require a patch since sims are updated upon launch.

  2. Have I done something wrong or are Controller Sensitivities not working now? I need to change the axis sensitivities for my joystick. I have done it before but it seems that since the last mandatory update I cannot get this to work anymore.

  3. Just what is says. Other aircraft has the flight_model.cfg

  4. Hi folks, Did you notice that since last update there are no more reflections (or only very few) within the cockpit? This was a major feature for me, and I am seriously disappointed to see it removed, without leaving the choice to keep it. Very poor way to solve performance issues IMO. By "reflections" I mean that: Here are the "new" reflections, needing less processor calculations. But for me this is one step back:

  5. So we have a C82 and a Kitfox. What's next? Who has what in the pipeline? And when? I know of: A very good SP-30 in the making (from an X-Plane developer) The LongEz (Dino Catteneo) A CRJ-700 (Aerosoft) Spifire (Aeroplane Heaven) Aerostar (A2A) Lockheed Vega (Wing42) Concorde (DC Designs) Dash-8 Q4000 (Majestic) B737NG (PMDG) DHC-6 Twotter (Aerosoft) What else?

  6. I can't pinpoint it but I've got a feeling that part of the performance gain with the last patch stems from sacrificing LOD radius. Maybe I'm overly critic here but has anyone else noticed that buildings and trees "growing" into the scene is more obvious than before? Just want to check before going the ZenDesk-road...

  7. I have no trees at all in northern NH (KBML to Mt Washington) or central MA (3B3 to Worcester area). Is there a way to fix that? I posted this on the official MSFS forums too, no help. TIA! sg

I’ve noticed since the last patch that added extra voices to the ATC that all except the original voice are pronouncing the number 1 as “Oh enN Eee” when giving frequencies. I.e spelling out the number 1. Anyone else hearing this?

  9. Is there a way to import a flight pln from something like little nav map into fs 2020 via fsuipc, it doesnt seem to do anything when i tried it on one test. Hoping there is or will be, as it seems tedious manually entering things via mouse. Thanks in advance

  10. Hi All I have never posted before and have always found everyone's help so useful. I am in need, myself, of some this help. When attempting to download install the new MSFS i cannot get past "Downloading pc-fs-base-bigfiles-0.1.59.fspackage..." It simply starts downloading (the percentage increases and so does the file size but after a few seconds the percentage goes back to 0 and the file size reverts back to where it was at 0% DL. I have tried everything on this form - run as admin, windows up to date, uninstall and start again, tried to install in my hard drive and external hardrive, no success. Does anyone have any ideas how I can f…

  13. I am not sure what's going on. I have an RTX 2080 TI and 87Mbps Down & 9.05Mbps Upload speeds However when I playing the game recently my game looks horrible. This is the San Francisco area used in my example. Please help if you know what's wrong. I already have the latest graphics driver installed, the one that was supposedly optimized for MSFS 2020

Hi I hope I am at the correct group. I am starting to get dismayed at FS2020. I have pre-ordered the FS2020 De Luxe version and duly installed it. It worked for a few days and then it started to freeze on about 80% of a red progress bar bottom of of the load screen of the TBM at the back. It goes rather slowly from 1-80% as if it doing something and when about 80%complete, it just stops but still plying the music in the background so it's not the machine hanging up. In the meantime I have tried the option to reset...took another huge download to re-install..twice!. every time it worked for two days and then the same old story. I have tried the Run as Adm…

  15. Hello, my first post. :) So much talk about CPU vs GPU bottlenecks, and less than perfectly optimized coding...makes me curious what would be the theoretical specs necessary to run FS2020 at 4K Ultra maxxed out to 60 frames per second, without any dips or drops or glithes, in the most demanding scenario possible in the sim? How about 8K 60fps Ultra? I understand NOTHING currently available allows this, so this is more of a brain boggler to see what type of crazy processing is required to reach those framerates. 6GHz single core CPU speed? RTX 4090? Have the limitation causing glitching and frame rendering slow down been reasonably enough identified to theori…

  16. I'm very pleased with my home airport in the default scenery, but the parking positions are messed up. They have the airplanes facing in all kinds of directions. How difficult is it to adjust the parking positions like how many they are, where they are and which way they are facing?

  17. The SDK isn't even finished and the quality of the freeware airports is amazing. Since the default objects and materials look so good, a lot of this freeware is literally payware quality. The freeware developers never cease to amaze me. Also this website is pretty awesome, it has decent UI without any ads really.https://flightsim.to/ I've bookmarked it and am loving it.

  18. Like FSX when using NVSURROUND the outer sides are being stretched and that looks not so good. Anyone has come up with a solution ? ( setting / external program ) ... Thanks,

  19. Started by Noel,

It seems after patch 2 my CPU utilization about halved, and video performance is about the same. Image quality which seemed to sour after patch 2 looks good in this area, dunno why. Look how cool and low utilization the 9900K is showing while flying just north of LA:

Leaked benchmarks show the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 offering as little as 5% better performance than the RTX 3080 for over twice the price https://www.notebookcheck.net/Leaked-benchmarks-show-the-NVIDIA-GeForce-RTX-3090-offering-as-little-as-5-better-performance-than-the-RTX-3080-for-over-twice-the-price.494706.0.html

  21. Hey all, I just completed a super awesome IFR flight in a C172 from my home airport. Flight was incredible in most aspects - smooth, great scenery, great aircraft performance, and super cool turbulence on the back side of mountains I flew near. One thing that was horribly off though was live weather implementation. I looked up the metar for my airport and it showed altimeter 29.84, visibility 10 and clear skies. I loaded into the sim and grabbed the atis, and the altimeter was 29.88 and there was a heavy fog layer at sea level giving a visibility of 3. There were also some random layers of few clouds. I flew to my destination airport quite far away (which …

I just noticed completely by accident that the in game V-Sync is now working (for me anyway!) I have had trouble locking my frames at 30 with NVidia inspector. And I wasn't sure that NVSS was set up right either. When I finally had a look at the developer mode to have a play around, I found the famous built-in FPS display. I have a 1080Ti at 1440 scaled at 130, and most settings are high with a few on medium. My FPS was shown at 43 in a test scenario I use, so I was a bit annoyed it wasn't locking at 30. I went to settings, put V-Sync on and set it to 30, and it was exactly 30 in the sim. 20 gave exactly 20, and at 60, I was back to getting my…

  23. So after having serious problems with loosing Avionics etc, I decided on the Nuclear option of sorts... What I did was redownload FS2020 to a different computer and then, across my netwok, I ran a complete file compare between the two installations. Both versions were the same version number, and yet, there were significant differences in some of the files, especially those relating to the Garmins and a couple of planes I was having issues with.. Now.. When I tried the second machine, there were a number of differences in the way the sim operated as well, specifically (for me) around the GPS and ILS options (actually the second download is giving me a few pr…

I thought I'd enjoy a nice flight in the 172 over the Scottish Islands from Benbeculla down to Barra, which as those from the UK may know has it's runways marked out on the beach. http://www.hial.co.uk/barra-airport/ However... I tuned in the NDB and arrived overhead only to find the tide was in and so I couldn't land ! Not a complaint, the real airport suffers from exactly the same problem and is only usable at low tide, as I don't expect the tides are simulated that particular airport will remain out of use. I just thought I'd mention it in case anyone else was planning a visit to this famous airport. Absolutely beautiful flying to be had in this sim…

If one thing in MSFS aggrates me more than anything else, it's the fact that nothing saves. From flightplanner I have to click my airplane and enter my tailnumber and callsign for the hundred time. Enter the fuel, weights, etc. Click Flight Conditions and set it to live again for the hundredth time. Go to plan my flight and have to open the filters and turn on navaids for the hundredth time before I can set up my flight. All these are configurations and should stick. You shouldn't have to set them every single time you fly. It's a pain in the rump! And heavens forbid you miss one little thing and start your flight, now you have to exit back to the main menu and set i…
