Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Is it just me or have the awesome looking clouds taken a nosedive in visuals post latest patch? I'm currently enroute over the UK at 11000 and the clouds have a fuzzy grainy artifact type look, flying through the clouds I could see a sort of rainbow effect through the transition reminded me of FSX to be honest! I have clouds set to High normally, most other settings high medium. Like I say unless its me they defo look worse after the patch but would like the thoughts of others?? Thanks

I recently joined FSE and have been flying for Cono Sur, the southern part of South America. It's an area with amazing beautiful scenery. Unfortunately one particular airport in MSFS is unflyable as the airport terrain/runway is not flat. This airport is called Las Lajas in Argentina (SA1C). Could anyone that knows how to use the SDK take a look at it and fix it? It will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Jorge

The Tool Tips on my screen are gigantic. Is there a way to turn them off or at least reduce the size. They are so big they block my view of the mouse pointer many times. (4K resolution)

Anyone have a way to setup two Logitech-Saitek throttle quadrants for FS2020? I have one quadrant that is USB the other is DIN that plugs into the base of the Logitech-Saitek Flight Yoke system I want to pair up the throttle, the prop, then mixture levers to mirror what goes on in the cockpit of the Sim. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

In reality when you are in cokpit with a small, medium or big aircraft you dont need a camera ! you get all informations and you have to look left/right, down or up. to found all nformations about the flight. I hope to get a 2 D panel for the lon gitude and the cessna. Eaglesoft made 2 D panel for the Cessna 750 for exemple.I was flying for about 12 years in reality. Regards, Serge

Make some lights at airports seems Asobo forgot to pay the electricity bill - they cant be serious Beta testers ah did you notice this not to mention the night as a hole is terrible Payware airport developers must be loving this as thats the only way our going to get a decent looking airport at night - ok Im done 🙂

I see the incremental distances from point to point on the Log page but I am not seeing a Total for a flight plan. Anyone else notice this?

Hi, I have a problem with the camera window. It is "stuck" at the top of the screen so I cannot choose which view I want to use. Everything above "SMARTCAM" has disappeared off the top of the screen, whereas it used to show "RESET POSITION" etc. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

... but since I did this none of my 4 controllers suddenly stopped working in MSFS like they very occasionally did before, maybe one flight out of a twenty some controller or axis was dead. Problem has not reoccurred for 2 days now after doing this. Turned off all 22 allowances for Windows to shut down USB devices (I'm not sure why Windows had to install so many (22) USB devices for headset, keyboard, mouse, and 4 flight controllers). I unchecked the box in these 22 lines in device manager for "allow computer to turn off this device" (In Power Management tab). I don't think this was the issue, but it was worth doing, just in case.

Hello to everyone! I’ve been using X-Box Gamepass on my old gaming laptop pending receipt of my new desktop. No issues with MS Store thus far. I’m planning on buying the Deluxe version when the rig arrives and unsubscribing from Gamepass. So should I buy from MS Store or go with Steam? What are the Pros and Cons of each?

I haven't used the Live Wx mode much yet. Actually, I don't have much time on the sim yet. Early bugs made things so annoying, I just decided to be patient and wait for some updates. Last night I booted up a short PM flight in the 172 G1000 from John Wayne (where I took my first flight lessons back in the early seventies), to LAX. For 30 years I was a stick-and-rudder low-N-slow VFR flyer - really not wanting to go anywhere in small aircraft - and mostly flying my own home-built Experimentals. Anyone else had issues signing up to this? Did all the necessary steps yesterday but never got the activation email, checked my junk folders and logged into the mail server on BT to see if anything was stuck - no joy. All I get on the home page of the forum if I try to log in is a pop up box saying my account is waiting activation, use forgot password link to resend the email. Unfortunately there is no resend password that I can see. the popup box has options to proceed as Xbox Live, which does nothing or Email which also does not present any field as the account still waiting verification. I was finally able to do a full IFR approach in the cessna 172 just like in fsx. I wasn't sure MSFS2020 had all the (old school) navigation capabilities of fsx but rest assured it does...at least in the cessna. GPS/NAV mode/ OBS/ NAV 1, NAV 2, VOR/ILS frequencies/ autopilot, APR, capture glide slope automatically etc...all good:) I haven't tried NDB navigation yet. Btw if you want to find ILS frequencies just zoom into the destination airport on the map page and you will see the ILS antenna icons at each end of the runway...if the runway has ILS. I was messing with my camera modes under the General section.One time I was able to adjust my cockpit height, horizontal, and zoom.As i was doing it you could see the change in the background. Now I can't see any movement in the background when moving these slides, or when i go back to the aircraft.

Hi all, One if not the most annoying thing for me in MSFS Is the mouse panning behavior. I have a pretty powerful system however when I right click pan around in the cockpit or the outside view, there is a jerky panning movement. Its not smooth like it is in P3D or XP. Do you see the same?

So, I was in the Alpha/Beta testing groups for MSFS2020 and didn't have any issues. I purchased the GamePass and when the game was released I downloaded, installed and used the sim ~25 hours. Patch 1 came along, I installed it and continued to use the sim adjusting and trying some mods, etc. Then, patch 2 comes along, I go to download it and I noticed I'm only getting an average of 2.5-5Mbps, but I let it run because my internet is only 20Mbps. Then, it downloads approx 6.5GB after several days and all of a sudden, starts over (fs-base-cgl-xxx) and continues this cycle for several more days - all the while my cpu and gpu is between 90-100%. Hey All, My last two flights, (a relatively short one between CYOJ and CYYE) ended with the TBM, all of a sudden, pitching the nose up violently and the plane destroyed due to over g. The whole failure only lasts about 2 seconds from the onset to death. It starts like a sudden hit of violent turbulence, the nose pitches nearly straight up, and... dead. Like I said this has happened two times now in two consecutive flights, both the same route. Has anyone experienced this? Thanks! (Absolutely zero mods or tweaks installed)

After the latest patch, I noticed that some airports are not generating their buildings. Only some jetways or etc. For example LTBJ (İzmir, Adnan Menderes Airport) Does anyone, facing the same issue? LTBJ or any other airports ? Thanks.

So did a flight from EDDF to KSEA last night. Programmed in everything and went to bed (10+ hours flight). Woke up this morning to find this in my acars: So I had 450.000 pounds of fuel onboard which was about double the fuel specified by simbrief for the 748i. Yet, the plane crashed 1352nm away from the airport inbound. Anyone know if there is a fix for this? I have salty's mod for the 748 but it obviously hasn't improved upon the fuel consumption.
