It's more about frensel effect, means materials tend to be more reflective when viewed from lower angles, just like the shot you posted. Waves are like the roughness value, mean directions of light when scattered and the reflection is deformed. From flying altitdue, the effect should be much less noticeable. The second thing, water is somewhat transparent, means, less light is reflected from the the water's surface. In the video from MSFS, water looks solid more than fluid. Look at just about any of my posts and you will see an edit because of it. --------------------- Last post from me here are two shots I just took, one with calm winds and one with good winds. Each to there own but imo both look stunning. This forum is unbelievable some times, go fly FSX or P3D then come and see what MSFS brings you, and you still go on...and on about stuff like this. This sim is stunning but your never happy or you will argue to the cows come home over nothing. Your cannot turn it OFF so go fly another sim. Edited September 18, 20205 yr by Nyxx David Murden. Your cannot turn it OFF so go fly another sim. no one is claiming otherwise. the new SIM is amazing and looking good, however some stuff are not perfect and the cloud reflection is one of them. no one is planing to ditch the sim platform just because of this and it was never insinuated either. but the question that was asked, how can we make this more realistic and/or at lease switch it off as i personally prefer seeing the ocean water than a mirrored clouds covering the entire ocean water and it's not how it is IRL from cockpit/window view when in the air.
