Thinking about xplane again
Yes, and it is in the manual too. o4xp_Seasons_Manager: seasons on top of O4XP https://forums.x-plane.org/files/file/87701-o4xp_seasons_manager-seasons-on-top-of-o4xp/ This plugin solves the problem. Install in Custom Scenery, perform o4xpsm_install.exe. In the plugin menu, enable Orthophoto Mode. https://github.com/derekhe/xplane-map-enhancement-release/issues/328 https://github.com/derekhe/xplane-map-enhancement-release/issues/210

Texture POP in/ changing in final approach
As I thought, but clearly not as I was able to see it.

Tell me, why do you ask sarcastic provocative questions? What does that bring to the debate about poor LOD?

You're welcome. you realise this is a discussion forum, right? And that I was answering a question labelled 'thoughts?' Hence the whole point of the forum...

Yes, you've all gone back to the FSX days of ludicrous tweaking, that most of the user base have no idea the settings that they are changing, or what they are actually doing. All of this to fix Asobo's issues. Most of which should not be needed, especially since half of it is snake oil. And those with top systems (5090 etc) should have the sim set and forget by now. And actually just fly. But oh no, got to keep chasing stupid external tweaks to stop taxi signs popping in, and get AI aircraft working as was advertised... using tools that hack in to MSFS and are actually banned discussing over the official msfs forums. Again, I reiterate, the sim for me is a mess. For others they are happy.

Let me know when you eliminate the popping…

I can't wait for motion vectors; that seems closer based on what they have said. That will be a game changer for me and others, I suspect.

Texture POP in/ changing in final approach
Couple of shots of snake oil, few folks telling you to buy a better system. And a few reckless adults telling you I’m selling XP12. For the record I have a 5090, 9850X3D, and have scenery popping. (I also have rubbish fps in XP12 at heavy areas, because that isn’t optimised properly yet). I also have a masters degree in IT. So am I doing something wrong? Or, is it Asobo? I know what I think…but you’re free to make up your own opinion/mind. Again, some People are not sensitive to this issue, which is great, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist! And if you view a few more YouTube videos, and in fact even some official Microsoft sim trailers, you will see that this issue has been ongoing for some time, and the new LOD system in 2024 has actually exacerbated this issue, because it’s really not as bad in 2020 as it is in 2024. Ps, now watch the replies below and how some adults here can’t handle my opinion. They’ll probably try and discredit me, or call me names, or mis quote me in some way. It’s so immature.

I see you’re still down the rabbit hole. Let me know when you’ve finished and come to your conclusion. I think that you’ll still have scenery pop in, simply because of the fact it is an Asobo issue. It has nothing to do with other sims (as Noel would have you believe).

Absolute ignorance of the highest level Noel. Grow up.

Texture POP in/ changing in final approach
What is sad is this type of ‘playground’ bullying here at Avsim, that is completely uncalled for and un-needed. For the record, I don’t try and bash Anything or sway anyone anywhere. I simply express my opinion, and that is an issue for some fully grown adults here who can’t seem to comprehend that, so in return they start throwing insults such as the above. (And I only saw Noel’s comment because blueshark747 quoted it, as he is on my block list for the exact reasons listed above). I only have one thing to say, grow up. If you can’t handle other opinions, don’t engage in the debate.

Texture POP in/ changing in final approach
A bit like people who drive with under inflated tyres and never ever notice. Some people are sensitive to it, others aren’t. And again, it depends on screen size, and your sensitivity to it. Just because you don’t see it, doesn’t mean it isn’t happening.

You could have just said switch to another simulator. 'Lesser'? Does you absolutely no favours. There is nothing 'lesser' about the other simulators. Each has pros and cons. It is as simple as that, really.

Texture POP in/ changing in final approach
And the rabbit hole begins haha. It is an Asobo problem; you either learn to ignore it and look the other way or migrate elsewhere. Trust me, you can try millions of tips, tricks, and mods, and the issue will still persist. Only Asobo can fix it. I am hypersensitive to it, and I have tried everything to no avail. More power to those who learn to live with it and look the other way. I can not do that. PS I am on a huge 65-inch screen, so it may be more noticeable to me.

Texture POP in/ changing in final approach
Happens in both, 2020 is worse with the scenery morphing too. Nothing you can really do to be honest other that hope for a miracle that Asobo fox it, highly unlikely though. PS you’ll get people in these forums here Who claim they don’t see it. However your video posted is just part of lots of evidence it does exist.

In fact, your video above perfectly highlights it. Once you see it, you can not unsee it.

Texture POP in/ changing in final approach
It is one of the reasons I mainly stopped using 2024. To me it is extremely immersion breaking more so than other things.

Texture POP in/ changing in final approach
Welcome to msfs. You won’t find a fix for this, it’s up to the developer Asobo to fix it.

5090 with VRAM issues
Interesting, I take it that doesn’t translate to your use of avsim then? Because this is exactly what you did with me a few days ago here. Granted you did apologise, but even still…

ORBX Making an Official Jurassic Park Addon for 2024
Dinosaurs existed for approximately 165 million years, from the Triassic Period to the end of the Cretaceous Period. This period is also known as the Mesozoic Era, which spanned from about 245 to 66 million years ago. The Jurassic Period lasted for 56.3 million years, spanning from 201.3 million years ago to 145 million years ago. It is the second period of the Mesozoic Era, often referred to as the "Age of Dinosaurs". To be precise 🙂
