I was gone for over a month from home and know that there were 2 patches released during that time. When I got home and started the sim it looked for updates and installed one. I wasn't paying attention so I don't know which one or if it did two. Trying to find out what version I now have. I think if I have had both patches installed I should have v 1.9.3.0 but can't figure out how to find that on my sim. There is not the usual "About" to click on. How can I find out? Thanks

VOHS - Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (Freeware) https://www.nexusmods.com/microsoftflightsimulator/mods/135 really High Quality. Night View of my flight landing https://ibb.co/ZTTWSDt Approach plates and airport information. for VOHS https://aim-india.aai.aero/eaip-v2//25-05-2017/eAIP/EC-AD-2.1VOHS-en-GB.pdf It's quite good. You can fly from VNKT (Katmandu) or PARO, Bhutan. to VOHS I flew from VOMM (Chennai international) to VOHS at night..in total darkness but in fairly good weather. on the A320 I used the VNAV for the most part until the last part where it busted my 4K lower thresh…

Gusts are a real pain when gliding in MSFS - to get good ridge lift you need a good wind and MSFS insists on a minimum of 50% gust speed, so a 20Kt wind gusts to 30 which isn't too relaxing.. The UI for winds insists on a minimum of 50% but you can just DELETE the gust speed, don't put in 0 as this will get changed back to 50%. The rightmost variometer shows the impact of wind gusts, with constant flickering, until the gusts are turned off. Quick video on youtube showing process and results - Watch the rest of my gliding channel whilst you are there, especially Snowdonia summit 🙂 Cheers Keith

I have been trying to set a call sign and Tail number but am getting rather confused. I have the tail number set as B-LAVL and Callsign set as BRIAN1306 but when connecting to atc I get BRIAN1306 1123 and do not know where 1123 is coming from. Hoping someone can help regards Brian

Very chuffed and was a great trip. Highlights were coming into San Francisco over the mountains from the North, landing on the sea outside The Lonestar Motel Barbados in the Icon A5 in a little detour after landing at the main airport in the A320 and Anchorage night landing. Hairiest was landing at Madeira when the landing system seemed to be out of alignment. Trip: London Heathrow - Kiev - Kuwait City - Mumbai - Bangkok - Hong Kong - Tokyo - Kushiro - Anchourage - San Francisco - Orlando - Barbados - Madeira - Madrid - London Heathrow. Huge amounts of fun and very satisfying. Next trip will be around Africa in something a lot smaller, airstrips rather…

I'm not sure if it's patch related, but I don't remember my scenery looking this blurry from altitude. I remember things being much sharper before. Everything set to high or ulta. LOD set to 150 (though it's just as bad with 200). Anisotropic Filtering 16x and Terrain Synthesis Ultra. I have 10Mb Fibre, a 5700 XT with 32GB ram. Happens anywhere in the world with any aircraft from about FL180 or above. I've reset my cache since the patch.

Hi all, New here! I just got fs2020 the other day and I’m absolutely blown away! I even bought a pc just for the sim and have really been enjoying the scenery. I have a question regarding lighting procedures for the a320. I know landing lights should be on under 10,000 and of course taxi lights on while taxiing and beacon lights on just before starting the engines. Can anyone guide me on full lighting procedures as I want to be as realistic as possible. thanks in advance!

During IFR the ATC always calls the descents way too late. i.e. on approach they call 3000ft but i'm @ 10000ft, 3nm from the runway O_o I read somewhere else i am not the only one. How do you manage this?

I've been seeing an interesting behaviour in the sim over the last few days. It's getting warmer here in Australia now and it's beginning to show in the sim. I've got an 8 core Ryzen 7 and a 1080 Ti. The first thread of the CPU never gets above about 35% and the rest of them are even lower, but the GPU is always maxing in the mid to high 90s. The interesting thing is that with the warmer weather there are now recurrent pauses of a couple of seconds or more which took a bit of investigation to track down, but it seems to correlate with the temp of the GPU. I've got airconditioning in my sim room, the side covers off my box and external fans blowing inside because it gets …

I'm trying to configure a profile in Logitech G-Hub so that I can map keyboard commands to mouse buttons or macro keys on my gaming keyboard. Microsoft seems to have tried very hard to hid the name/location of the executable. Anyone have any tips on how to find the name of the main executable so that I can setup G-Hub to auto-detect when I'm running Flight Sim 2020? /Dave

Almost past this up and it's not so much the small airports Tropicalsim produced but the islands in general. After installing the scenery and doing a distance flight in the CJ4 from Florida with a refuel stop in Bermuda I landed at night in the Azores. Did a flight the next morning with the 152 first and then the Cessna Caravan and was amazed at the island scenery in the area. This is another example of areas I normally wouldn't fly to and in this sim look amazing if given the chance. I highly recommend a flight around these amazing islands with a small plane. Now I see what all the fuss is about when I hear the Azores mentioned from people who’ve been there. I can ju…

Seriously the new patch made the sim worse for me. It was working perfectly before with nice fps on my two year old rig. My favourite plane the TBM930 was flying perfectly without problems. I was doing a round the world with the TBM930 with 1/2 done and 100 hours logged. Then comes the latest patch... broke my TBM930 with the doplhing dance wobble on autopilot, making it thus unflyable. Got two CTD's when I clicked the VFR map, that was working fine before. More stutters and random fps drops on todays test flight, before the patch I had a very smooth ride with no fps drops on high settings. I have used my microsoft store for two months and I am not going to buy …

I find it very strange that some people have nothing but trouble with MSFS, yet others (like myself) have no problems at all. I thought that maybe if we listed our outcome (Working or Not Working) along with other details, we might be able to figure out what is causing some people to have so many issues, and others none at all. I am going to list some details about my setup, hardware, etc. and if everyone could add their details to this thread we might be able to develop some clues to the problems. Outcome: Working OS: Windows 10 Home (64 bit) CPU: Intel Motherboard: ASUS Z97 Pro GPU: GTX 1070 8 GB (latest driver 456.55) RAM: 32 GB Drive: SSD Resolution…

Not sure if it's something wrong with my data streaming or I was expecting too much out of the Japan update. Took off and chose 5500 feet as there was no suggestion on what altitude to use. Noticed right away the ground texture NE of departure the farm fields and small towns were fairly blurry. I thought this update was supposed to be updating all that stuff? Should I be flying this flight higher? Lower? I turned off rolling cache to see if that was the issue but no change.

I was never able, in any version of Flight Simulator from MS tune the aerodynamics of aerobatic aircraft to the point of being able to instantly stop a roll like IRL with these aircraft as can easily be observed in a myriad of sources like those in youtube on aerobatic performances... There's always a lot of lag / inertia / momentum when I promptly return my HW controller to it's neutral point, and the virtual one follows it at that exact pace. Tried again in MFS, using the "Modern" flight dynamics, and unfortunately, even after fixing the default data which is filled with bugs ( like fuselage_length = -1 ) and trying to adapt the editable variables, and using Dev…

Anybody had this? I'm relatively sure it's been since the new patch. No matter what the actual weather, the ATIS in the sim calls 6SM in heavy rain, few clouds at 1,100, few clouds at 4,500, overcast at 15k or so in heavy rain. There might not be a cloud in the sky. The only other potentially salient facts are that I only fly in the Caribbean, and while the clouds, visibility, and precip are always the same, the wind does change, which I find a bit odd.

As I fly at a constant 5000 ft with OAT at 6C, every few minutes I have to adjust my mixture just a tad in and out because the rpm drop very low. Then I set it back to where it was and everything is fine for a few more minutes. Until it happens again. I set the mixture to where I get the most rpm, and leave it, but this happens every so often. Didnt do this before.

Not sure if it makes sense but yesterday I decided to try Nvidia Inspector. After I downloaded it and loaded the Microsoft Flight Simulator profile I saw that the Pre-rendered frames is set to 1. After that I changed it "software controlled" and I think SOME stutters are gone. Is it possible that in some Nvidia setting the Pre-rendered is set to 1 by default for MSFS ? Reading a little about Pre-rendered frames and I learned that lower values could induce stutters.

I live in the DFW area and so I had mmy P3D setup for this area real good. I had the FSDT DFW and not sure who made the Houston GW airport..it was darn good and I had high resolution Photo scenery from Mega Scenery and got some autogen Trees and builds from someone I forget now. I also had Austin and San Antonio airports Now I flew from Houston to KDFW and I get this https://ibb.co/DDDQgG1 Really? is Bing so bad for this area? and then when I got close to DFW, I get a CTD. I couldn't even fly a short route from Houston to Dallas. WTH! I am mad now. Manny

That got your attention!😉 Provided you haven't added the Shetland correction, there's a fun little game to be had with the ride-on tug operators at Fetlar airport EG39. The runway has ended up raised on it's own 'loaf of bread' hill and if you land there (great fun with 30 knot side winds in a Cessna 172), and place your plane with the tail towards the steep slopes off the runway, you can initiate a pushback and with luck you'll watch the tug driver end up driving down the hill to the bottom at a vast rate of knots! See how far (s)he will go!😁 I got mine within a few hundred metres of the sea cliffs.🙂

I didn't know where else to share this little occurrence but it was nothing short of amazing so enjoy! We left Gaylord pre-dawn up and over the Big Mac bridge into Michigan's upper peninsula and on around to land in Oshkosh in our custom IFR plan. Parked for 20 min and got some coffee in the airport cafe and decided to hop back in the TBM930 and set up, in the MFD, the next IFR FP to rural town of Albert Lea MN, KAEL. As I'm approaching the base of the thick cloud cover at about 7000' taking off out of KOSH I hear ATC (liveatc.net, dialed into KOSH), controller say, "Ice formation is being reported between 8,000 and 11,500'"... A few seconds later there it was, form…
