Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

There's a new tool out that easily allows one to import Google Maps photogrammetry into MFS. I'm not posting a link because I don't know if this falls under the forum's piracy umbrella, but my post isn't about this tool but rather the photogrammetry itself. I was looking at some of Google's photogrammetry for a city that Bing doesn't have in 3D, and I noticed it has cars on the road and shadows cast from where the sun was in the sky when the city was photographed. I bet if I were to import this imagery into the sim, it would keep the baked-in shadows and cars, whereas the MFS's default photogrammetry has (crudely) removed cars from roads, and I don't remember seeing obvio…

On the ground the Grand Caravan is speeding up to 35-40 knots. I’ve already played with various settings for prop and mixture but wasn’t succesful. Always have to use the breaks while taxiing. The front wheel steering seems to be strange. Around 10 kts it is ok, above 10 kts it’s getting difficult to have a reasonable effect without applying brakes. Since the latest patch it seems, deploying flaps on approach lifts the nose much more. What am I doing wrong, enlighten me.

Hey all, I create my flightplans with PFPX. I then export to route to a .pln file. In MSFS I load up my flightplan via the .pln i created in PFPX. So far so good Next step is to repositione my plane to a gate at the departure airport. Now MSFS creates it's own route instead of my own .pln file. Has anybody found a workaround for this issue? I'm trying to find where I set the altitude(s) for the flight. I'm on the World Map screen where I choose an aircraft and create a flight plan, but I can't see where I enter the altitude I want. Any help would be really grateful. Gaz

Hello, Since I switched to English UI + last patch (I was using French Ui), my profile is stuck at 51 flight hours. I am sure i did some flights ending with landings. Strange. I want to keep English UI as most of you speak ... English, here. Have you got this problem ?

I have tried searching for a couple of friends after they gave me their ms names but the search engine doesn't find them. Do they have to be on the same server as I'm on? I assume once they are added they would be saved somehow in my list but I can't seem to add them at all. What am I missing?

You probably all know the first one, the street lights in MSFS look like UFOs. For each light, there is a source, but nothing beneath, they are just hanging in the air like magic. I don't blame Asobo for this, I guess they did it to optimize performance. Flying lights The second is more serious: there is a bug in the Garmin information regarding the runway length. I have been experiencing this for a while... happily flying on autopilot, GPS NAV mode and without warning, the autopilot puts me into a spiral dive. I have not seen a lot of comments about this on the forum.. is it just me?

I was flying into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and I notice that the name on two hangers was "Otisko Airlines". I know this has to be wrong or is this just me?

Hello, after the latest patch the 787 cockpit shadows are really coarse, does anybody noticed this too? other planes seems unaffected.

Am I just imagining things or have there not been videos/images of the cockpit sun shades actually being used to block out the sun glare? I've tried both C152 and C172 clicking everywhere around them and can't find a way to get them to move. Searched the mappings for 'visor' 'sun' 'shade' - made sure the filter was set to 'ALL' - nothing! This would be a hilariously odd thing they took out of their pre-release builds!

Man, the drone camera is powerful stuff. Never really got into it, but once you get the hang of a few basic keyboard commands, it's a fantastic tool to use. I've barely touched its surface! The TBM 930 continues to be my favorite. I installed two mods: one that takes care of the redlining torque indicator during climb, the other one provides a more realistic looking Garmin G3X interface. All capped off by Rex Weather Force. I'll be posting a few impression screenshots shortly on the screen shot forum. Anyone else have this issue? After the update I am unable to fly. When I select a plane and a location all I get is this weird top-down view. I can try all my preset view keys and nothing works. Rebooted, cleared the community folder.. nothing. Unusable.

How do I know if the Japan update has been installed? The reason I ask is that when I click to start game there is on the main page an option to view. it takes me to a page that says 'World Update Japan....Free,,Buy & Download,,or Buy. Hello, As above...i tried setting up Vsync via the control panel but they seem to have no effect. For example when i set up my monitor for 120Hz and in the Control panel the Vsync to half refresh rate i'd expect the sim to run @60FPS but it still runs @120 or at least tries to achieve them. Same for all other settings. Am i missing something here? Best

Being an old single-engine, low-n-slow flyer, I have absolutely zero knowledge of jet/turbine ops as they would be applied in MS2020. Where can I obtain a bit of training on this? I may never fly tubeliners, but I do like the smaller faster turbine models for getting around sim-world. Basic knowledge on control ops and settings for these birds would be helpful, thanks

Is there a trick to getting onto Vatsim within MSFS? I have flown in P3d on Vatsim for years and wanted to give it a try in MSFS. I seemed to connect ok just like I would in P3d and I showed that i was connected. However, I was not getting any audio. I checked my audio settings in P3d and they seemed ok but is there something i need to do within MSFS or in general to make it work? Thanks!
