Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

This may be a trivial question but I'm a bit frustrated on being stuck on something like this. But how do you actually start or play the game? I sat for 6 hours getting through the 10 discs, when the installation finishes Microsoft Store opens. But FS isn't in the microsoft store menu, or on my desktop, or the start menu, or anywhere I can see. First time I did it I redeemed my code and eventually got in the game, but now since I already "own" FS2020, nothing else happens with the Microsoft Store menu that allows me to play.

With the latest patch it seems live weather is going to produce lighting regardless of actual weather. This is the first time I’ve got a good look at the lightning is the sim. My question is why is it so hard to make lightning look good? Every sim seems to always struggle with this creating some slowly fading on and off bright white light with a rather generic looking lighting bolt that washes out the whole screen. I just updated to the new patch and did my usual First Flight from my home airport in Bonham down highway 75 to downtown Dallas and back to Bonham. I've done this flight a few times in every sim I've owned and am intimately familiar with it. The first thing I noticed was that my ported Stearman didn't crash. Second was that the TrackIR view didn't reset after 6 seconds, thank you Asobo. F00 still has no buildings, just roofs on the ground, as expected. The third thing I noticed was that roads looked different. It looks like they've done an overlay to correct the color and possibly blur the graphics a bit. The flightplan created by FS2020 is sometimes terrible. So I want to delete waypoint(s) in de FMC I have searched and tried al the options found but I can't delete a waypoint (using A32N mod 0.31) Anyone ?

Is there a way to pushback without having to call ground? If I don't want to use the default ATC, or if I am using Vatsim for example. It would be nice to be able to call for pushback without having to talk to the ATC

Seems when landing the heavies the elevator does very little if nothing...I can crank the trim full up and nothing..makes it interesting but dicey. Is there an auto setting I am missing...I turned all pilot aids off and control set to Modern..the small planes all have good elevator on slow down for landing and only the airliners are doing this...

I was changing my rolling cache to 100gb, after realizing that was a bad idea, I waited for about an hour before deciding to abort. I closed FS and deleted the rollingcache.ccc file, which many people had said would be the fix. After which, I opened up FS2020 again, when it checked for updates, it found a new patch called "fs-base-0.1.74.fspatch" - I'm having an issue where it gets to 242mb downloaded then it restarts into this endless loop. Just been enjoying some VFR flights and will pay more attention to the camera settings now and into the future. As the title says, is there a fly by camera and the availability to see a short replay of a landing or approach, or anything for that matter? Thanks!

Hello, has anyone noticed that the synthetic vision on the G3000 is not working? It only shows a blue top and a brown bottom. I have no mods installed. Can someone confirm or is it just me? Thanks. JC

does anyone know a good app or software for VFR flight plans, with update vfr charts, not only US, that works with MSFS. I use Garmin Pilot but doest know how to connect it to the sim

Is there an equivalent to the Xplane WED World Editor for the new Microsoft flight simulator? Also the Plane Maker? Brian Lumb

So again in the search for smoother experience i tried this. My RAM is with an official speed of 3600 and cl16 (XMP enabled). I disabled the XMP and tried those "memory try it" profiles and choose a 3466 with cl15. I am not measuring FPS as i am locked FPS and honestly i don't care as long as its smooth. To me, from early tests it appears it somehow helped with those small stutters while flying to a new area. I am not 100% sure, more testing needed. Any hardware pro is welcome to shade some technical light if such an improvement is something we should expect from lower the latency but on the account of small speed reduction (3600 to 3466). D…

In the "statistics" section of the pilot profile, it records "number of airports landed at." But it appears that sometimes it doesn't record landings. This does not appear to be related to size of airport. For example, I flew from Anaktuvuk Pass to Umiat, and the pilot profile recorded a new airport. But it did not record a new airport when I flew from Flying Cloud (Eden Prairie, MN) to MSP International. My settings were the same with both, so I assume it doesn't have anything to with assists. Is there something specific you have to do to record a landing at an airport? Do you have to fly a certain distance or taxi to a certain location?

If not, here's the question: I've been flying for what seems like years in P3Dv4.5 HF3 with this setup, which works flawlessly: A2A aircraft, GoFlight modules, networked Air Manager, networked Pilot2ATC, Brunner yoke and rudders, RXP GNS, and the OPUS Buttkicker program. Does FS 2020 support any of these, or have something equal or better? Thanks again.

I guess they're mapping the field to the cloud now and it's working for me without any updates. Now sure about the callsign field as I'm exclusively GA at the moment.

Is there anything out there that can help give you your T/O trim numbers? I can't figure that out because the loading page for weights and fuel is strange in my opinion and I never know what my values will be.

I have been flying around Florida these last few days. Given the season, it's no surprise that I have encountered scattered thunderstorms south of Lake Okeechobee on a regular basis. The default weather captures this nicely, with lightning flashes and thunder. What's not quite right is that the storms seem to top out around 6,000 feet. I checked the local NexRad system and it's reporting the cloud tops to be in the range 15,000 to 25,000, with a few even higher. Has anyone seen thunderstorms with higher tops on a regular basis? I'll report this to the Zendesk, but wanted to check first to see if other geographic areas display something different. Thanks.

This is different from the last update when opening the Developer Mode stopped all flights from being logged. My flights yesterday in Japan were logged then they stopped in the afternoon. Anyone have any ideas? I made two flights today and neither are logged. Regards, Ray

Had a win chaps. Have had a CTD since I installed the software weeks ago where every time I tried to access the options, crash. Every single time. The only way I could alter my graphic settings was through Nvidia GForce Experience. After providing my dxdiag and msinfo txt files, within 24 hours they had a solution for me. Check that the English - US voice package was installed in my Windows operating system... it wasn't. I put it in (very simple process) and voila, next time I opened the game, options were available.
