Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

This is so strange. Since the last update, whenever I'm about to land at KBNA, I get some stutters like it's suddenly dropping frames. The rest of the flight is very smooth. I have a 1080ti and I'm not pushing my graphics--I've averaging about 50-60 fps. Yet just when I'm ready to flare, sometimes slightly earlier, it stutters...every single time. It seemed really bad when I live traffic on. When switching to AI traffic it's not as bad, but it still occurs and is very noticeable. Don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. Why in the world would it be fine in flight and then stutter on final/landing? Never had this issue prior to the update.

hi everyone I have managed to reinstall msfs,after Reinstalling windows from a previous back up. Luckily it installed OK and has loaded up OK....but that's where the luck lasted till.... I have the premium edition and I have only 2 planes...propeller type. Nothing else. Please help. Anybody else had similar problem? I bet the manufacture did not spend as much time making this campared to the time we are wasting on it. Qas

Is there an easier way to enter your own flight plans with the A320 for example? The flight plans I use are always different than the ones it automatically generates when creating an IFR flight. It is annoying to go to each point along the route, right click and remove the points you want remove, then go in and add the route I want to use manually. Is there any other way? Maybe just starting at an airport I want to depart from and don't pick a destination? Then enter my route into my MCDU manually? Would that be the only option? Also, anyone have any tips for fuel planning and payload? I find the default pretty difficult to work with.

I guess we've all done Tokyo and Fuji. Any tips on other beautiful places in Japan with the latest update?

Hi guys, keep having this issue where the A320 keeps banking on final just before touchdown, banking left or right for a wing tip strike. Im approaching around 150KTS, ive got the v3 mod installed and updates to the latest version of the sim. no other ac does it except this one. is anyone else having the fault?. kind regards.

I am looking for something which as lateral and vertical position relative to nav aids (glide, loc) with a relatively updated database? Thanks!

Total FlightSim noob here... not sure if I'm running into another bug or I messed up some settings. Couldn't find any post or video of others having the same issue... Would appreciate any help. Here is the issue: I selected DA62 and a simple route: DFW->IAH, using VFR(Direct - GPS). Everything looks correct, notice the distance is 195NM here. However, when I start the sim, for some reason the nav system says the distance is 5755.5NM... and the pink arrow in the compass is pointing north. And if I start autopilot and select NAV mode, the AP will turn the plane north aligning with the pink arr…

Is it just me? All of a sudden (hmmm, a "patch" came out the other day...) I can't fly the Longitude without it just bobbing up and down uncontrollably.

Hello all, I have my MSFS2020 on its own 256gb drive, which, after downloading the newest update and all the freeware sceneries I have now only 32gb remaining disk space. I have just purchased a 1tb SSD specifically to replace that drive. Other than cloning my existing drive contents to my new 1TB drive, (community folder on drive C) what else do I have to do, in order to negate downloading the whole thing again. Will anything have to be backed up before the cloning? Regards Tony

Yes, the tide of progress is unstoppable, whether it is software (MSFS) or hardware (GPUs and CPUs). I am confident the while imperfect, MSFS is the start of a first class flight simulation. Hardware will make the experience all the better and the improvement are inevitable in terms of patching the imperfections of the game. All we need to do is be more patient, things will improve.

So it turns out my install of MSFS 2020 simply has no VFR maps available to pop up at all and the toolbar does not have this icon, nor some of the other icons like the Weather (Cloud Icon) and Travel To (Pinpoint Icon) that that I've seen in other screenshots. At first I thought it was because I was flying IFR routes but the above is a simple VFR flight, also tried in free flight and Courcheval landing test (which I've had a friend confirm they can access the VFR map in that). I think it is obvious that FS2020 as a concept and as a piece of programming is absolutely huge, in fact larger than a lot of projects, including some in the business world. I think it is also obvious that there are so many variations in settings and options that trying to keep pace with all of them must be hugely frustrating to the people working on it and trying to replicate bugs and issues. I also think that many problems with MSFS are, to some extent, almost self inflicted. Hello, I am unable to make a flightplan for arriving 27 or 26 ILS . i can only choose from 08L/R or 09L/R. Anyone else seeing this ? I am sure LFPG (Paris CDG) has a ILS for 27L/R or 26L/R ILS . A bug or is it me (you never know with this sim..... 😉

I've been messing around with the settings for too many hours now, and can't seem to get any smoothness from my yoke controls in game. Works just fine in Xplane11. I've got a modified Saitek Yoke with a Leo Bodnar BU0836 board. FS2020 recognizes the board, and i've recalibrated the hardware controller in Windows 10 settings. I've gotten the roll and pitch axis configured in game to the board, and made sure the saitek config settings aren't also set to roll/pitch axis (I know that causes a ton of issues in Xplane11), and the sensitivity curves do make a difference, but the in game deadzone is basically 85% of the yoke physical movement, regardless of what D…

Hello, As the title says...i just deleted it from the content manager with the intention to reinstall because i had the impression that something went wrong since the last patch. But now i can't seem to find any option to reinstall/download it. The CM says "download available (0GB)". I think i am missing something here. Any hints apprectiated! Best regards

I've noticed that the issue of the B787 elevator being unresponsive at low speeds below 145Kts is still a problem after this latest update. Only that now, it is also unresponsive for me during other segments of flight, such as during cruise at 2000-4000ft and at 160-175kts(During Manual Flight). This is a real shame. I also notice that now, when you flare during landing, the plane appears to want to dip it's wing to the ground.....similar to the on-going problem with the A320 where it dips it's wing L or R during the flare. Only difference is that in the B787, it appears to be much less pronounced then on the A320 (At least in my case.) Has anyone else experi…

Just read this and makes sense maybe it will help others As many of us are aware or have experienced the lnav or autopilot not following path, I think I found a possible workaround for the a320 and 787! First have your VFR maps on before flight , 2nd adjust your dead zone settings in controls to about 5 percent instead of zero . I have tested this multiple times and the aircraft seems to follow the flight plans . This is a sensitivity bug or issue I believe. Please give it a shot and send your findings . So far this is working for me very well . So far. I can’t guarantee anything but it’s worth a try my fellow pilots !

Turned Aviation Traffic to OFF and got a huge FPS gain. I'm sure many already know this. This is for those that don't thanks.

At least around Okinawa which is part of the Japan update. I can now see in the flight sim the reefs I used to dive off of when I was a Marine in Oki.

Hello, Since new msfs update I have black displays, PFD,ND etc. When I set up a flight starting on runway, everything is set, engines running etc...am I forgetting something ?

Hi All - I'm having issues getting my CH Yoke and Pedals to work with FS2020. The devices show up in FS fine and I can map controls as expected. It doesn't have automatic mapping but that's not a big issue. When testing sensitivity it appears fine on the curve, however in game movements on the yoke do not translate to flight controls. I have to pull all the way back or forward to recognize input and when it does it throws to to the axis extreme and stays there even when the yoke goes back to neutral In short, inputs do not respond and as a result it's unflyable.
