Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

A few days ago I started a thread where I went haywire about the FS2020 bugs and the flightmodel of the A320 in particular. And man did I get it. I will never start a thread like that again. Anyway... it really made me wonder...do people really accept all this? Have I lost my mind...did my flying skills die just like that? Then again...going over to XP11 is like night and day. Now...the installer itself has been quite weird. I for one have to quit and restart the installer at least 10 times during the download since it drops to 4-5 Mbit for no reason. After restarting the installer, it goes up again to 100 Mbit. After 10 mins, down again. So I was wondering...do you…

Hello everyone Downloaded 2020 today, and having loads of problems. Looks beautiful though, looking forward to ironing out my problems so I can enjoy it fully. This question is specific to trackir, I have posted re other issues in another thread. Does anyone know how to activate track ir in 2020? Any help would be great. Thx Karl

Since installing the latest patch, my sim crashes to desktop pretty much every single flight I take. Annoyingly, it doesn't happen straight away, but usually about 30-45 mins into my flight... I disabled the VFR map, are there any other known causes of this? My sim was running perfectly before this recent patch....

This has happened more than once, resetting flight puts me apparently at a lat/long of 0,0 instead of on the runway.

So I eventually figured out how to install the game. I installed using the 10 discs, then in the Store I clicked install on FS Premium Deluxe. That added the shortcut to launch the game, 33Gb of patching later I was finally there. BUT I have no premium content airports like Amsterdam, and II only have two planes I can select, the Cessna 152 and the Daher. What gives?? I love the game but following the "press any key to continue" loop on my old pc and now not having any planes I'm growing a little frustrated as these issues effectively prevent me from playing at all...

Not sure if it is the aircraft, the sim, me, or some combination. I have Navigraph data installed. When I get to the final approach fix, the G3000 does not recognize it. For example, at KNQX, once I get to WEBUN, the GPS still shows that I am on the DEMTE to WEBUN segment, and never changes even after touchdown. The GS indicator shows that I am above the glideslope even after touching down on the runway. I am having this behavior consistently with all RNAV approaches. Anyone else having similar issues?

Is anyone using Logitech G940 flight system with MSFS 2020? My MSFs does not assign any keys or seems to detect G940, G940 works fine for me with older version of MSFS and other flight games. I wonder if there is config file/profile/key assignment map for G940 and MSFS 2020. I know that G940 is old product now but it is still very useful and works great with other games.

Why do some planes during a flight have a nametag and some not?

I'm trying to fly the A320 and using the FMC or MCDU as it's called now I see... I've used the below tutorial. In my example RJBB-VHHH (Kansai to Hong Kong so major airport I ended up with YME when using the Sim Brief Version I can do the INIT, PREF and page I click F-PLN select top left then select my runway and try to find a 'SID'? Is it possible to rename the individual mod folders sitting in the Community folder to something of your choosing without breaking the mod? All modders have their own folder naming conventions and when looking through these, it is sometimes difficult to know at a glance what each mod is. Especially for scenery objects such as stadiums, towers and bridges, but also liveries etc. For example, one good freeware livery's title is "OperatorLand468-livery-a320NeoBA". Could this be renamed to something simpler and neater like "Livery A320 BA" for example? It's a minor OCD thing but does anyone know - before I go and experiment and risk crashing the sim?

When to try out the Longitude today and had some massive problems getting the engines to start. When I loaded in and turned the batteries on, the engine switches under the cover were already both in RUN and pressing them wouldn't toggle them off. Having never ever loaded into the aircraft other than in the Hangar I didn't think much of it. Followed the checklist, pressed the starter, N2 spools up, fuel goes active, nothing. Hmm that's weird. Well that was an interesting ending to a flight. I'm coming into an airport I've never flown into and it's night. My G1000 starts acting up (cannot change barometer setting and then any change doesn't work). Autopilot is still following the flight plan but I can't follow ATC instructions with it on. So, reboot the G1000 and still nothing. Well, time to take matters into my own hands and fly this approach by hand. Wasn't the best but I got down safely. Has this always been there? When I was in Dev mode, I happened to check the Marketplace before exiting it and noticed a 'new' option of "3rd Party Preview" which was non-selectable, situated above the option to view all Marketplace items. I wondered if this was something still to be activated or if perhaps it was used during development and Alpha/Beta testing and left over from that? it's the first time I'd looked at the Marketplace whilst in Dev Mode so it maybe an ever-present thing.

Hi all Happy to see on my quick flight today the wind sock was steady on the take off roll and as I passed the airport on departure at 1000 feet the wind sock was still portraying the correct wind, great for arrivals at uncontrolled airports, at least wind and weather is slowly coming together

So whats the deal now auto gen trees only load in about a mile from the plane? is there somthing I can change in a .CFG to fix this.... My pc never had a performance issue

I usually create a flight plan in simbrief then load it in on the map when selecting planes, departures, arrivals, etc. Then in the sim once in the air I toggle on the AI control option from the white overlay menu at the top. Today that doesn't work. The plane just flies in whatever direction it wants to, ignoring the flight plan. It doesn't matter if I use a flight plan from simbrief or select the appropriate airports from the map. To test this, take the TBM and select KDEN to KSEA. I guess the good news is I might need to sort out the AP in the cockpit, assuming this feature is hosed. Can anyone reproduce this issue? Thanks.

Hi All, This weird new thing started happening today when I launch MSFS, and go past the "Press Any Key to Continue" screen. Is it possible to edit one of the configuration files to move the visor up/down or out? I like the TBM a lot, but the visor position for me seems awfully low. So if that's something that can be edited in one of the cfg files, I'd sure like to give it a try.
