Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Having installed the programmes for the third time due to multiple crashes and inability to download all of the de luxe version i have been able to get the Premium De Luxe version. When I go to the Contents Manager I see there are several updates available. I click the box to the left but nothing happens and after many attempts and following Microsoft instructions for getting around this it is still the same. Also when starting a flight and clicking Ready to Fly iI randomly get a CTD, somtimes the screen fills with a brown colour from the outer edge and then the sim crashes. Any advice short of hair pulling. Bob P

I have two lovers: "msfs and prepar3d" MSFS gives me almost everything: "wow", every time I cross the clouds and observe the terrain. Reflections, atmosphere, sound. And also a good conversation with its developers. Prepar3d gives me the actual traffic. We had to work a lot, but PSXseecontraffic, realtraffic, and lorbylivetraffic are GREAT. With prepar3d it is very difficult to converse as a user, but when I see the traffic I keep quiet. And so I am. I like that airports are full of planes with traffic and real models. Ive been trying the challenges with the Airbus, landing at Sydney the scores show my position and score but, landing at Rio I see a position but with a score of 0, although Ive just landed with 685734. I appreciate my postition is going to be correct but why doesnt it show the score. Do you have to be a tester to send a shot to Microsoft? I just grabbed a nifty one (if I do say so myself) and wouldn't mind sending it along.

The clouds are sometimes, in my opinion, too transparent (for example in the screenshot with the volcano in the latest update). Does anybody know of a way to tune the clouds' transparency properties? Thanks Mark

I have found that the 'Travel To' to a later flight segment function on the toolbar e.g. Cruise, Descent, Approach etc really messes up the waypoints and autopilot system. I was able to test and retest this several times using the Schipol to London route. If I flew the whole route either in real time or using the change sim speed feature then the whole flight would work perfectly and the plane would use ILS and fly down the glide scope perfectly. If on the same flight plan I 'Travel to' the Descent phase then the plane would sort of pick up the ILS but start overcorrecting as it came down the glide scope - >3000 ft descent speed, fly past the purple triangle level…

Just a small piece of advise for 3rd party creators. Photogrammetry building of airports simply not going to work. I downloaded 2 airports which the terminal buildings was taken from Google maps photogrammetry (most likely) and its simply looks terrible. Any photogrammetry object will be good from some distance but not from parking stand 10 meters away from it. I guess not even from 50 meters.

I have noticed that this subject was been mentioned in many forums. I have had the usual problems getting the disk version to install etc but, after getting some assistance from Aerosoft, I have successfully got it running. So much so I have not had any hickups as yet, even down to running the sim WITHOUT Disk 1 in the drive! I have the Premium Deluxe version and my hangar is full of the correct aircraft, all available for use. My logbook is being updated as I go through the training. I don't know why I can run it without the disk in, (the only thing that Aerosoft told me to do which I have not seen anywhere is to ensure all Xbox services are selected to Automatic in…

Boy oh boy did I see a lot of "Not Started" & "Backlog" in the dev update yesterday. Don't get me wrong, I am VERY thankful to have a new sim and that we have great devs working on it, however, I feel like some simple things should get fixed/updated a little quicker. In MY opinion, some small updates should not have to wait til update 9. Anyways, I am NOT complaining just pointing something out.

After the update on 8 October 20 it is clear that Asobo is not fixing the issues with aircraft like the CE 700 (Longitude) anytime soon. I have added a wishlist item asking them to unlock the .cfg files from the .fsarchive DRM. This is so the community can make modifications to these airplanes to fix the issues. I'm new to flight sims and have been flying the a320 for a while now and its been working great but all of a sudden my autopilot has stopped working and every time i apply the AP button it steers of course and fly's in circles is there anything anybody can recommend as i have tried everything i can find, thanks

Probably not just me but I still cannot stop the music from playing before I press 'Press a key to Start' and very briefly between stages of the game loading. This is despite having music volume at zero and the new cryptically described 'Mute Audio in Background' set to on. Hopefully they will simple add 'None' as a choice in the music selection box as most other games do. CJ

Sorry folks, again it's me 😕 As i like the GAYA scenery of Tegel, i choose this airport as destination for todays flights. Nice cloud coverage over Germany today, gave me visual astonishing approaches between huge cotton wool ball clouds and was good for tuning the settings 🙂 But neither the CJ4 nor the A320 where able to show the ILS frequencies. Ok, i have the Navigraph beta installed, cause the FS own navdata sometimes gives you 7000 ft dives between two waypoints 5 nm away from each other. So, i deactivated the Navigraph beta, checked that there is only the ILS 26L of FS own database left, but again no ILS frequency available. At last, i enabled the Navigrap…

Good day. I am experiencing difficuly configuring my Saitek Throttle with MSFS. It only gives me the option of "Throttle 1" in the controller settings. Therefore only one of the throttles responds to inputs. Is there a way to get both throttles to respond equally to one lever input? Regards.

I'm going mental over this. I think it's me not the Sim so am asking what I'm doing wrong. Trying to fly SIN-BOM (WSSS-VABB). Just purchased the Carenado M20R Ovation and am having a problem with the autopilot. Everytime I engage the autopilot the airplane immediately dives at 2000 fpm. I cannot use the altitude portion of the autopilot and the trim is so sensitive it's nearly unflyable. I've looked thru the forums about it, most have said the update fixed it. When I purchased the aircraft I got the updated version. Am I missing something??

Can some please explain this feature? I disabled it because I was sick and tired of looking at blocky trees. It looked ok on my last flight in FL. What am I missing? Thanks.
