Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

In the MFD grid when you open the Airport Information panel and type in an ICAO you can look up its nav and com frequencies, choose and load and activate them in Nav1/2. I bought FSDT's KPDX-HD and also Orbx's KSBA and both of them are missing these ILS frequencies. I did just delete KPDX-HD and thankfully the default KPDX is there w/ its 4 ILS frequencies. I've contacted Orbx so far. Should I take this to the zendesk? It sounds like maybe the SDK left fields out to input those and the 3PD's didn't notice maybe.

It's a partly cloudy day here, and the clouds we have are relatively thin, but it seems that this new update thinks that ALL clouds are capable of generating lightning... Anyone else having this problem?

I write this as someone who is NOT a real world pilot. I've been excited with (and overall happy with) MSFS2020. When I first saw the trailer announcement for VATSIM, I had to look up what it was. Sure enough, it was really cool sounding (and intimidating) - it would let me experience flying with ATC. Why would I want that? Because as I press "1" for Takeoff clearance in FS2020, I find myself wishing that I could talk to ATC and have it actually talk back to me. VATSIM does this. What is VATSIM? As much as we are trying to support this sim we need to take a stand here. Asobo broke a key function of FS2020 and looking at the patch notes there's no mention of a correction in the next patch. We as a community figured out how to fix many things do to the lack of something I really don't know going on at Asobo. The community figured out how to improve the A320, CJ4, G36, and KingAir. In the last patch because of complaints by a few in the community about tree height ASOBO screwed up the LOD distance rendering trying to fix the issue for 'some' leaving very talented people here to not only fix that issue but address the tall building issue. Every time I try and fly the Grand Caravan I have issues with the Condition Lever rolling back. Is this me being a dummy and not setting something right. It happens all the time, I roll it on full for takeoff and it rolls back shortly on the ground roll. If I posted this in the wrong section, I apologize PDR

As most of the community did not understand and did not want "Press Any Key" function, devs will be removing it hopefully in the next patch. It is also not clear for me; what is the function of "Ready to Fly" button just before thestat. I think this can also be removed. What do you all think about this, for a structural positive criticism point, to improve the sim ?

Hello everyone! I've recently notice that no matter the game settings, my 1080ti is always running at in between 85% - 100% with MSFS. I run a 1440p monitor and I feel like something is wrong. Is this normal? Has anyone seen or heard of this before? Low End - 85% Ultra - 100% Thanks for you kind help!

The more I fly my C172 (non G1000), the more smudges and fingerprints appear on the side windows. The bug splats on the front windscreen appear to be about the same but there are definitely more fingerprints on the window glass beside me so Im wondering if there is or will be a way to wash the windshield? anyone know? anyone else notice this? I hope its not just my imagination.

Well i know the purpose of it in real life but whats the purpose of it in MSFS other than being handed off from one controller to the next from time to time? I didn't receive a single traffic information, QNH change or anything relevant when flying cross country since release.

I loaded up Developer Mode in the Options to take a look at my FPS and noticed red text stating the above, "Limited by GPU". So my question is, does anyone know if this means my GTX1070 is holding back the sim at my "High" settings (which the sim recommended and set) or are they suggesting some Nvidia Control Panel software setting is locking down the frame rate? I haven't set any per-program settings in the card for FS so I suspect it's the former and after the 3000 Ampere cards hit I'll be grabbing one (likely a 3070), but would prefer to make the best of things with this for now. Start a mission in GTA that involves hauling illegal cargo to some remote island in the Caribean, using trucks (Euro Truck Simulator), taking a train (Train Simulator) finally loading it all on a plane (MSFS 2020) and delivering it.

I just finished the final version (for now at least) of my GTA Enhancement Pack. Now the whole area should feel much more realistic. I have imported, edited and color corrected photogrammetry and added many 3D objects for many key areas that are prominent in VFR flying and IFT approaches to Pearson CYYZ and CYTZ. Now the city looks much more convincing. I even went totally bonkers when doing Wilson station right next to Downsview airport, and custom modeled/painted TTC buses and Coach Canada ones too. 1) I find the PFD goes dark all of a sudden espeially when I am on approach. I need to use the knob on the left to turn it back on. Not sure why this is happening. Is it just me, or you guys experiencing this too? 2) the Mods. I see this today. I just purchased the Smoothtrack app and downloaded the opentrack from github. I'm having some problems getting it to work (among other things, the camera is just black, it never records). I am on the latest ios (13.something.something) on my iphone8+. Anyone else here using it and getting it to work?

I hope you all know what I mean by 'Sandbox'. (An area where you can test adjustments without entering a program). I am still new to the sim but I have noticed that, after reassigning stick buttons there is nowhere to go to check that the assignments are okay. It seems that you have to go into the sim, live, to find out if they have 'taken'., then leave to adjust if they have not. Seems a long way round to get your settings checked. Is there a way of avoiding this long winded process? Cheers

Obviously, live traffic is supposed to have aircraft everywhere but when I have live traffic turned on I usually don't see much. So which setting do you find gives more, live traffic or AI?

Hello, I am trying to use the Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas 4 for Microsoft Flight Simulator and while it works fine for the most part. MFS is not detecting the throttle nor is it detecting rudder movements. Any idea what it could be?

I could not take off once the plane hit the water, so the drag of the water on the wheels is recognized, but the depth stays the same everywhere. I imagine that modelling actual water depth or ground level over the whole planet would be rather difficult, but I would think that the default minimum depth should at least be more than 2 ft https://youtu.be/P6xfiwlgIpI

I don't care. I've tried a bunch of things to make it go wrong and it refuses to CTD on me!!!! I'm outraged that I haven't had ANY problems with this Sim. It looks and feels like a real aeroplane - it's incredible and as a result - I'm far from happy!!!
