I've noticed that if you turn on the battery, the mfd powers up immediately. If you cycle the battery on and off, the mfd goes through its normal start up routine. What gives?

Thanks to a few here that recommended me to wait for the new CPU releases im extremely happy to announce that i will be going with the 5950X for my new build. At this point my old budget has already been blown away. A 3090 in the mix with at least 128GB of ram should be plenty for FS2020 and all my video editing needs.

I just want to be clear about this - CTDs are ALWAYS caused by hardware. Oh sure they can happen when running a simulation or game or even Windows itself but the rule is the same. When I see these my first thought is to run a stress tester on my machine. Windows logs will point you in the right direction but sometimes not much more. Things to look at are cooling, overstressed or flaky memory, overheating, too high of an overclock and the big one - bad drivers. Even a perfectly stock machine can exhibit problems. I only make this assertion because I have seen it firsthand on many computers running all kinds of software. Just remember that a simulation l…

Home of Qatar Airways, Doha is a powerhouse of global aviation. This scenery created by the talented Risuali and Chris B breathes life into Doha and Hamad International Airport (ICAO: OTHH), through a wide variety of detailed building models and scenery. https://www.msfsaddons.org/freeware/doha-city If you’ve never been to Doha before, now’s a great time to go explore - if you’ve passed through due to a connecting flight, why not hop in a Cessna and explore the culturally vibrant skyline from the skies? Or if flying commercial is more your style, why not load up a Qatar livery and depart with a plane full of cabin crew and passengers using Self Loading Cargo.

I know we can expect an 'update' tonight, which I understand to mean a communication with the usual community pictures etc., but should we expect a little patch / hotfix / update for the sim? There are version dependent updates waiting in the marketplace (waiting for version 1.9.4), but that might not mean a lot. I hope MS/Asobo surprise us tonight with a little something. Just setting the VFR map right, and and reverting the Anti-aliasing would be enough for me until the big November update. Even just a little update to correct a few issues would win back confidence with quite a few people I think, as it shows they are listening and responding prompt…

Is there anything that the people creating the mod have in terms of a roadmap on what they are working on to release with future releases? I'd be curious to see what they plan on fixing as well as implementing. I was shocked to learn yesterday that TRK/FPA is INOP and that is pretty key for doing manual approaches. That would be great if they can add that as well as all of the other things not modeled. Just curious. Thanks!

To many CTD'S, Press any key, Wait time, Flight Planning, PFD lockups, Interface, 4 hour updates that fix very little, No traffic, on and on and on ... Oh but look at all the scenery ! Even the disappointment has worn off, Now its just another Software that does not do what it promised to do. Back to DCS, New A10C 2 beta upgrade. Cold and Dark Startup. Three flights no hiccups, Forgot what it was like. The forum here has less complaining, less "Hey everybody look at this" moments. The cold reality has set in for many, less comments, less sales, May be in a year but right now the thrill has passed for a while Regards

I've noticed that during the daytime and during VFR conditions those airport beacons are on/flashing and they shouldn't be. Has anyone else mentioned this before with hopes that MSFS 2020 / Asobo will correct this? Mike

I landed on Runway 28R for the first time and was carrying a lot of speed after too steep a descent. Suddenly, as I crossed a taxiway on the runway, the plane flipped nose first and I got a crash screen. I went back to the start of the runway (fresh flight) and taxied at speed down the runway, this time in external view, and hit one invisible bump which launched me in the air before another flipped me half off the runway with a landing hard enough to produce another crash. Anyone else have the same issue? Remember, this is the default KORD in the basic sim, not the Premium Deluxe. Edit: I count five bumps along the runway's length. The final one in…

Good morning all, Welcome to the latest update of the Working Title CJ4 (v0.3.1). This is still very much a beta. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this release. This update focuses on compatibility with MSFS 1.9.3, but also includes a few new features and quality of life updates as well. The install instructions are simple: download the zip file and drag the workingtitle-aircraft-cj4 folder into your community folder. Important: Please remove all other CJ4 mods prior to installing. Due to structural changes in 1.9.3, you must also completely delete the current workingtitle-aircraft-cj4 folder before copying the new release. Download: https://github.com/…

I guess it had to happen. It was super wired. I was circling Paris at about 2000ft to see the scenery in the TBM and then headed to LFPX for landing. As soon i turned to the direction, the camera system went crazy. What appers to be the "smart cam" (which was disabled since day 1) has started to work erratically pointing to all sorts of places. The right mouse button which is my free cam while pressed started to the zooming when pressed. I could barely made it the field fighting the camera just to touch down and CTD with no error message. The one thing i noticed compare to other scenarios it didn't crashed is that in this case the GPU usage was quite high. Chec…

This forum is replete with many issues, bugs, complaints about our new sim, MSFS. Asobo has faithfully chronicled our needs and wishers. Well, I garnered this gem from a FB page. I take it that the listing is real or at least came from an actual UPS document or accounting of which. Still, it is knee-slapping hilarious and good to share: After every flight, UPS pilots fill out a form, called a "gripe sheet" which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The mechanics correct the problems, document their repairs on the form, then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight. Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. Her…

So I have watched two or three online videos on this subject and expect that other members might be interested in "upgrading" airports important to them. My local airport, a busy east coast regional, has a tower, a radio antenna, and flat blobs of color where hangars and other buildings/structures should be. The redux design process does not appear to be that cumbersome given that for most, runways and taxiways are already highly representative. Yes, I know about the lacking taxiway markings. What I would like to see is an exchange among us, to identify from default airports, scenery objects that are a close match for those we would like to position at our airports …

Lets see I just landed at the Kremlin Red Square. I've also landed on the baseball fields in Central Park, landed on Mt. Vesuvius, and attempted 4 times unsuccessfully to land on Mt. Fuji. (Hey I climbed Mt. Fuji in 1992 when I was in the Marines haha I think it's impossible to land on in the sim. https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-20609795

I have tried adding various sessions but I cannot get rid of the landing guides (large cages), they are unchecked in the settings. A bit of a pain as they obscore the view of the runway. I am a new user of 2020 so may have a setting wrong, any help much appreciated.

The feather mode with the high and low idle. what exactly is it for ? I assumed its used for ground operations but why does it bring the ITT temperature all the way up ?

Hi, In some parts of Switzerland the ground textures of valleys and mountains are extremely ugly, greenish, totally washed out. What happened? How to repair? Is there an update planned? Thanks a lot for your inputs and best regards Alfred https://ibb.co/k10RBV7 https://ibb.co/MkgsRY9 https://ibb.co/bLkYhYm

Starting my approach into Heathrow modded A320. Passed BIG and en route to Dorking after entering and confirming approach phase on the FMC I started getting some odd behaviour. First of all the aircraft would not hold at my approach altitude (3000 feet) but kept descending. I then started getting odd behaviour - the camera flicked to look out of the RHS cockpit window and I couldn't get it to recentre. I also lost the mouse wheel zoom in and out, though moving the mouse on its Z axis seemed to move the view in and out. A few seconds later I got stutters then a CTD. I had the same thing last night though I almost made it to touchdown before the odd camera behaviour an…
