Hi Everyone I have just spent almost 3 hours installing the Standard disc version of FS2020 and disc 9 decided to error on me saying something like cannot read data cab 10 ... I wasn't sure what to do so I just said 'ok' to the prompt thinking that all I need to do is clean the disc (even though it is brand new) and all that happened was the progress bar and installation screen disappeared and nothing else .... no explanation and, as far as I know no way to continue apart from start all over again with the possibility of the same error happening again in 3 hours time!!! I cant get the content manager to "open"... just the "wheel" spinning in the middle of the screen when I try to open the content manager, any ideas how to get around the problem and make it work? Best Regards Pelle

Just went for a quick fly today after the patch and I have to say the sim is looking just as good as it did when it came out, the Photo scenery looks sensational again with no melting terrain and a good LOD range, it was looking pretty good before this patch with some of the issues slowly dispersing so I can only put it down to internet streaming issues or problems at Microsoft's end that could be causing intermittent poor scenery, hope others have seen an improvement I think this patch is a step in the right direction Cheers Wayne

This is not a big deal but I'm just curious if anyone else is experiencing the same? Since the latest update, the AI traffic version of the Cessna 172 is showing up in game with no liveries (ie- green, red, etc.) They are all just blank white, no matter which airport, time etc. I checked the official files and everything seems to be in the correct location. I did have some add on liveries installed in the community folder that put the ai textures on the flyable 172. I uninstalled them prior to the latest patch and I'm wondering if maybe that somehow messed up the official files. Not sure though?!

I bought the standard edition of the simulator and am wanting to try out the SR22, but I'm not sure if the extra $85 to upgrade is worth it. I'm not really interested in any of the other airports or aircraft included with the upgrade. Should I go ahead and get the update? Or are there any third party developers working on this plane?

I know that you can go into the official files and remove the ground crew/pushback tugs/etc., but is it possible to do it for a livery? If so, how would one go about it? I tried adding the [Services] section under the [FLTSIM.0] section in the liveries aircraft.cfg such as [SERVICES] FUELTRUCK = 1 BAGGAGE_LOADER = 0 CATERING_TRUCK = 0 BOARDING_RAMP = 0 GROUND_POWER_UNIT = 0 PUSHBACK = 0 SMALL_PUSHBACK = 0 MARSHALLER = 0 JETWAY = 0 but it doesn't work.

I've been experiencing spontaneous engine shut down on the Citation CJ4. Its always the left engine. It is with both modded and unmodded formats. I watch the engine temps and overspeeds. My engine failures are off. I don't see duplicate button bindings. I'd be glad for any suggestions.

Anyone else experiencing this. The update went fine and I can launch flights, but I wanted to go into content manager to see if there was an update to KEYW from FSDT that I was expecting to be made available on the marketplace and the contact manager just hangs. The little circle stays frozen, and nothing appears. There's no indication that anything is being updated or loaded. Not complaining yet, just want to see if anyone else has this issue? I actually logged off my machine, turned it off and logged back in, and MSFS started normally and still, content manager is frozen.

Is there a trick to figuring out what the ZFW is and how to input it in the MCDU? If I click on the blank boxes, I get values but when I try to enter the values, I get a Format Error message. I am looking on the fuel page in MSFS and I don't see that as a value and the values I have for simbrief don't seem to translate. Thanks! It bothers me that when you change airports in game, that live weather doesn't seem to update. I hit the B key to automagically set the barometric pressure and most of the time it's the standard 29.92 which I'm assuming real live weather isn't working. I see others here saying they have to quit the sim and relaunch it for to take effect. If that's the case, then this is a real PITA having to restart the sim.

I have had all the sims ever produced in the last 30 years. I remember when just the idea of having a few text boxes indicating altitude and heading was exciting-- this , I believe, was on my Commodore 64 and a simple flight sim( yes, they called sims even then). Today it would not be called a sim. At that time, I was training to become a commercial pilot, working several jobs between family and school. Going to the airport for my lessons was exciting. I was interested to note the directories that MSFS opened when they updated my copy of MSFS 2020 and I presume used in their update to my Steam copy of MSFS 2020. I just wanted to say that Microsoft need to hold their heads down in shame .... their download servers are quite simply appalling!! I have been trying to install the standard edition of the sim for just over 36 hours and nearly all the airports and aircraft are missing .... Yes they are available in the content manager but everyone fails to load .... PATHETIC is an understatement!!! My internet connection is superb at 350Mbs over Ethernet so no issues there ... it’s obviously their Mickey Mouse servers giving the grief !!! The download gets to about 25% and then starts all over again .... and again ... and again .... and again .. ARGHH Come back P…

I ve downloaded new patch and expected some sort of USA Splash screen or USA tour in the UI but its still JAPAN.. on the main menu there is an icon that says NEW for the world map but what its saying is new I have no idea.. So did they actually do anything? Its kinda odd they haven't pointed out int he game what the updated parts are.. we are supposed to fly aound the whole county and guess ?

After today's patch I have lost photoreal scenery everywhere: I see autogen instead (and it's pretty bad tbh). Settings are on ULTRA and bandwidth is ok (1Gb dl 200 Mb ul). Puzzling ... Andrea

I'm doing a short IFR flight in the Bonanza -- KBIL to Big Timber 6S0. I am approaching from the east via SUBKY and will use the RNAV RWY 6 approach. Do I need to enter the hold at ZELTI on the 263 leg that takes me around the 6364' peak, or can I just go direct ZELTI and make the turn to JUTIM. Just wondering what is the proper way to fly this approach. Thanks

I have an interest in a couple of airports in Central Illinois for accurate taxiways and buildings. I know many have studied the SDK to do such a thing, but at my age I don't want to tackle a large learning curve for just a couple airports. I imagine there are others like myself in the same predicament. I know the larger payware developers won't touch these, so is there a place where requests can be made to freeware developers? I'd be willing to donate to someone who undertakes my requests, so long as it's done fairly well (not looking for perfection, of course).

How does FS2020's atc compare to the atc in FSX/P3D? I've heard some clips from FS2020 and it sounds very robotic compared to FSX. I can get past that if the actual ai behavior is improved. I am trying to figure out if it is even worth while using it for offline flying. Using Edit Voicepack made a world of difference with FSX, but obviously that option is not available in FS2020.

Took the neo from KLAX to KLAS After I hand flew the thing to my first waypoint no departure loaded. feels a bit more responsive . followed the small flight plan to just outside of KLAS with no problems . I hand flew the thing again down the runway no issues at all . Ill try KLAS to KPHX next . Just in case BEFORE any IKEA pilots quote me on the hand flight part of my post asking “who hand flights the neo” newsflash : it happens in real life all the time . FYI im referring to the stock NEO in this post .

What is ASOBO doing? My settings are still not saving. I still hear thunderstorms with a few clouds. I'm still pressing to start the game. ASOBO is released patches that break the sim or don't fix anything. Making us waste our valuable time with these useless patches. Now mod creators have to update their work and we need to wait some more because this developer doesn't have a clue of what they are doing. Only to have to do it again in a few weeks. Disgrace!

Is there an official scope outlined anywhere as to what's going to ship in this update? Went to check out Mt. Rushmore this weekend and apart from the parking lot and some buildings, the actual POI is not defined.
