Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Apparently this is (or can be) an evil driver for MSFS2020. My experience is that Framerates can drop almost by half. Since I downloaded this driver shortly after the new sim update, I initially thought something bad had gone wrong with my system and took a while fiddling with my overclock. Finally I uninstalled this driver and my FPS instantly returned to normal. YMMV!

Hello and here's my problem. Due to a series of errors on my Steam version I unfortunately validated the local files on the Steam version, lost the content, uninstalled and reinstalled the Steam MSFS. I was prompted to update with a 100 Gig download to my the in-game suggested appdata folder chain. After doing so, I restarted game and was presented with the same update instructions I had received previously. Can't proceed to the "world" start screen. Has anyone had this issue and solved it. If so, I'd appreciate the solution. Thanks Pete

Below is a flight plan loaded into a G1000 (Working Title mod) MFD where I have set the cursor on the waypoint LZARD. My question is, if I now want to add a waypoint after (or before -- whatever works) LZARD, how do I do that? I don't want to immediately go to a 'Direct To' waypoint, but want to add an additional waypoint into the sequence of waypoints. Thx, Al

Is there any way to turn on the instrument backlighting on the C 152. I've searched all over the panel but can't find any switch or knob for instrument lighting. Makes night flying in the C 152 nearly impossible, unless you keep the dome light on which is a bit extreme.

I'm still trying to learn how to fly the MSFS airliners (I have yet to make even one successful flight+landing, though I came close yesterday) and I have a question re the IAS hold in the 787. First off, I think most would agree that the A320 mod is great and will continue to evolve. I think MSFS2020 will do the same as well. I thought I would start a thread to discuss what folks would like to have implemented or fixed as the mod improves daily. After the latest patch all I'm getting are CTDs....I have not been able to complete ONE flight. I quick a quick freeze and then boom CTD. Anyone else getting this? Am I the only one that thinks that, while there has been improvement in the overall feel of the aerodynamics, the elevator and rudder axes are still too sensitive? I use the Honey comb yoke and the Saitek cessna rudder pedals. Never thought I would ever say this but the Carenado c182 feels much better than any of the default offerings in the same category. The Bonanza, mod by Robert Young has also done wonders, but still doesn't feel quite right. I love this sim but very disappointed with the aerodynamics. I am also curious to know if there is any way to adjust the sensitivity of the elevator trim?

Not sure if this is me, but since the last patch, I have been having huge problems on final approach with wind sheer just as I come down onto the runway.. am assuming it's the ground effect wind, but all of a sudden, I get blown all over the place at about 100 ft from the ground leaving no time to recover.. also noticing high moments of turbulence in the air even when the winds are calm. Therefore, is there anyway to currently turn the wind off in the sim (without a mod or add-on) , whilst I await a resonse to my zendesk issue? Graham

I just noticed something peculiar when using the fefault A320 Neo. When I plan an IFR flight to an airport (which does not have an addon airport for that airport installed. I get the ILS frequency auto populated on the FMC/CDU The moment I am flying to an airport where I have addon airport scenery installed, I do not have the ILS frequency.. MSFS default cockpit user-assigned (ctrl-alt-number) views are triggered by using alt key plus a number. When I open FSUIPC7 to assign a couple of these to yoke buttons the ALT key seems to be omitted as a useable key in FSUIPC. What's happening w/ that? Thanks

Never flew the real thing. Coming from Fslabs i would pretty much taxi with idle once reaching to about 20kt. Here you need to be at least on 35 N1 to keep speed. Even with low weights.

Some serious questions for people to ponder as they consider MSFS and it's state of current maturity... I wonder what would happen if this was posted in the P3D forums? How was the FSX or P3D 3rd party integration 10+ years ago when it was first released? P3DV1, was that a masterpiece? V2? V3? Why did it take the major add-on dev's years to actually develop native P3D products, according to your logic it should have been ready day 1 yet dev's like PMDG and FSL took YEARS and didn't even run reliably until P3D introduced 64 bit. I love all the details they added to the water in this update. When flying over the ocean, you can finally see the white caps, and noticeable wave movements as well! The oceans don't appear calm all over the world like previously. And another thing that's really awesome is that you can see a lot of white caps near the shoreline when flying around islands! It looks absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. We just need AI ship and boat traffic now to make the oceans come alive even more!

Just loaded up MSFS only to find for some reason I only have two aircraft to select from, these are both prop although I've clicked on ALLI did originally have the full list. Can anyone please advise me on what to do to get them all back in my aircraft listing. Thank you

Before I do anything I might regret - I am planning to reinstall windows from scratch. Fresh and clean to make sure no junk in the system is slowing it down. I have FS2020 installed on a separate SSD. Do you think the installation will still work? Because, to qoute chief Brody in JAWS 2 - "I am not going through that hell again..."
