Thought I would make a little notice here on the forums about my up-coming bush trip through South America. It is being held in association with the Bush Pilots discord over here https://discord.gg/MYvtyNR. Greetings ladies and gentlemen! We are very happy to announce the epic South American Bush trip starting 6th October 2020 and estimated to last throughout the winter. All pilots from novice to experienced are welcome! Departing the very south of Panama, our adventure ending at Cape Horn will criss-cross the continent, with some highlights including: • The Iguazu Falls with its stunning 250 waterfalls • The powerful Amazon River • Torres del Paine Nation…

  2. Apologies if this is duplicating any other thread, I did a search to see and nothing came up. Is anyone using Elgato Streamdeck with FS? I'm a big fan of the Streamdeck as a productivity tool in various pro apps I use, and can imagine it would be great in the sim. If there's nothing out there ready to go, I'll probably put together a profile myself - perhaps to control ATC, camera views, etc., I need to give it some thought.

Since there will be many on here who take this much more seriouly than I do (e.g. cockpit builders, who REALLY know what they're doing), I just wanted to get some feedback as to whether my assumptions and methods below are sound. There is much talk on forums such as this of "realism". However, a realistic sense of speed and scale will never be achieved if actual FOV is not matched to sim FOV. Large screens make this, just about, practically possible. Doing what I've done (below), I am very happy with the result. My eyepoint is currently 103 cm from my 50" TV, which has a width of 109 cm. Basic trig tells me that my horizontal FOV is 56 deg. I loaded…

I've been kind of frustrated thinking about how many apps we need in order to get all the features we'd like, rather than having a single flight planning app that includes everything. I started out by purchasing PFPX back in the day, which was quite expensive. Only to find out that it's not being updated anymore. I've been using that extensively for my IFR flights. Everything worked well. However, there are a few things that I've been waiting to see and hope that a 3rd party dev or even MS/Asobo can make happen, and that's to make a flight planner that includes everything. One app to rule them all. As of currently I find that I'm using aivlasoft EFB, navigraph charts, and…

  5. Hi all, Bonanza A36 - Real life - MF2020 and Ice I live in cold weather, so last night flew the A36, 9 000 feet and at minus 3 everything frosted over. there seems little to do n iMF2020 but go down until the air hits about 0 degrees. Was my plane in jeopardy at that temperature or is it just nerve racking not to be able to see outside. Also, what happens in real life. minus 3 is not very cold. I cant believe planes get grounded until it gets much colder. Heck, I would not be able to fly 5 months a year. Ron

One thing I've noticed since release is how the ground textures a few miles from the plane are a blurry mess now, where as in the alpha they were crisp and clear to the horizon. Anyone know how to manually edit this parameter in the config files as the settings in the sim seem to do nothing? I can't imagine loading textures hurts performance much unless your low on Vram certainly doesn't on XP11

What im really missing... 1. Im missing Aircraft failure option....maybe aircraft status settings or randomly failures... 2. Turn off AI-Traffic in livemode. (i want see only real live players) 3. More information about other displaying liveplayer-aircrafts (where they come from and where they go, distance to aircraft

It's hard to show but to me when I am in the sim, my clouds look a little distorted. They almost have a salt and pepperish look to them. Is this just a limitation of my hardware or is it a setting in the sim that I can mess with to make them look a little better?

  10. Nice airplane but, when I move the elevator up it bobs up and down rapidly. Same when I try to pitch down. I'd like to try different numbers: [FLIGHT_TUNING] pitch_stability =1.0 roll_stability =0.1 yaw_stability =0.1 What numbers should I edit?

  11. Very cool to see a developer so upfront with what the project is and is not and I have to say, the price is right, hard to believe there is a discount offered on top of the $10 price but apparently there is if you previously owned Vancouver. Just an FYI for everyone Fsdreamteam is happy to announce the release of Vancouver V2 for MSFS 2020. This scenery has been converted to MSFS 2020, starting from the FSX version we released in 2013. However, is not a “straight” conversion, and there has been many changes, both due to the changing airport layout, but also to offer specific MSFS features when possible.- The airport layout has been updated. A whole new sectio…

  12. Hello, I'm trying to add a little more inertia to the TBM as she is very twitchy but had no success yet. Editing the MOI settings in the flight model file seems to have no effect. Am i missing something here? Any help appreciated. Tom

So my home internet is down today. Out of curiosity, I decided to see if MSFS would at least launch. Sadly it prompts to insert the game disk. I know a few people have reported this as a bug, but is it really? Or do we truly have to have an internet connection to run or at least launch the sim?

My apologies if this has been asked before, I unfortunately couldn't find what I am looking for. Here's my question, is it possible to have FS2020's ATC default to HPa rather than IN Hg? And if so, how to accomplish that? Thanks a lot for any advice.

Does anyone know of any app that will allow an iPhone to control the autopilot of the GA aircraft in MSFS? Many thanks!

So, few people wanted some reports when I had this card in. I have set everything to ultra. I have locked my frame rate using rivatuner to 60fps. I am maintaining the 60fps pretty much everywhere no matter where I am except major cities where it fluctuates between 45-60. However one thing to notice is the frame time. It’s substantially better. There is odd micro stutter here and there every 5 mins, but I believe that’s down to the program coding itself. Overall would I purchase the 3090 again for MSFS? Yes! Would I purchase it over a 3080? Yes! The 15% difference may cost a lot, however every 1% or more in fight simulation counts..... especially when we st…

  20. Just stress tested 8K cockpit shadows and they're working and are crisp as crisp can be! Insert 8192 as described in the thread linked below. They have little to no performance impact, however, they require a lot of VRAM, I haven't compared the load directly but I think it's about a gig extra. So really, unless you want to make compromises elsewhere, these are for people with VRAM to spare, but 11GB cards certainly have. I am running a 1080ti at 1620p (internal), I now see around 9-10GB VRAM used. Love to fill this bad boy up! While "8192" will correctly display in the settings, I think Asobo left this out (for now), so no setting exceeds 8GB VRAM usage. Here'…

I kept getting net disconnect notices while flying this sim...my network was fine and fast so that was not the fault. I decided it must be the way the sim connects that is causing the problem. I downloaded Netlimiter 4 (free) and set up MSFS priority to critical,,,maybe overkill but I wanted to see what would happen..well no more connection notices and smooth as butter.. It might work for you,,might not but for free what can you lose?

Greetings All, I have been using ALL versions of Microsoft Fight Simulator since the first SUBLOGIC one by Bruce Artwick more than 40 years ago. I have just purchased Premium Deluxe MSFS2020. There are certainly many things to be impressed about and the designers are commended for the many great features included. I love the clouds, rain, storms, and high resolution terrain overall. I have flown over many towns and all look quite realistic. However, while it is understandable there are still issues with the package when attempting to cover the entire world, and with aircraft instrumentation let me point out my current irritations/disappointments: 1. Th…

  24. Hm, confused. I have the data in stalled on F:\MSFS with F:\MSFS\Community; and the core launcher in F:\WpSystem\S-1-5-21-xxxxxxx\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_xxxxxx\LocalCache\Packages\Community Now, where shall a mod go? Does it make any difference? Reading through this https://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php?21235-Finding-The-MSFS-2020-Community-Folder I seemingly have a custom install so the mod data should go into F:\MSFS\Community, right?

There has been an overwhelming amount of negativism on this forum, which is to be expected with the bugs, dodgy updates and crippled IFR functionality, but I am pretty sure the vast majority of users are nonetheless in awe of what the sim generally offers compared to what we had before, in particular in terms of VFR, but these sporadic posts tend to get lost in the storm fairly quickly. Although knowing that this topic will probably have the lifespan/interest of less than a day, I thought it would be good to voice what we really love about the sim and that draws us back to it... 1. For me, the first thing is, without a doubt, performance. I expected a slideshow …
