Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I flew the Longitude last night from Key West into KFCM in the Minneapolis area to see what could weather flying would be like. I did a couple flights trying to catch the snow fall, winds, and low visibility. What I found is landing at normal speeds with full flaps (between 155-145kts) was impossible. I had to have my landing speed at more like 175kts and that still wasn't quite enough. Even though I had the wing ice on the plane could not enter short final at normal landing speed. I was actually light concerning weight with only 20% fuel. So my question is under cold weather conditions is anyone else experiencing this? I haven't had a chance to test other aircraft…

Anyone else excited how nights are gonna look like after the upcoming patch ? You think they might just roll it back to how it was in Alpha versions ? I wasn't part of it but i saw some alpha testers saying it was very good compered to now.

Everything has been working great with my MSFS2020 and my TrackIR. Last night, i mapped look up/down and left/right to one of my thumbsticks on my X56 HOTAS setup and around that time, TrackIR stoped working. Checked another game (DCS) and works fine. Uninstalled and reinstalled MSFS2020 and still no joy. I am about ready to lose it. Please assist!!! Robert Droege Jr

How does FS 2020 sort out preference when there are scenery conflicts (i.e. when I have two separate files in my Community folder with the same landmark)? In X-Plane 11 you have the scenery_packs.ini file where you can order things to ensure one scenery takes preference over another? How do you do that in FS 2020?

Hi All, Just curious I bought MSFS20 and used it for a lousy one day as I don't like it at all (but thats a seperate issue). I have a bog standard system that isn't exactly high end: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 6-Core Processor nVidia GeForce RTX 2060ti 8GB 16GB RAM WIndows 10 I maxed out the settings on MSFS and it ran smoothly with great visuals no stutters and no performance issues what so ever. Yes the sim looked beautiful but I have returned to P3D as at the minute MSFS is a aesthetic game at best. So! I started in Porltand Oregon at KPDX, my home town. Its not great, but man. But its sure not bad. Especially with the payware for KPDX. I decided that would be the last thing that I spend money on, and its really great! I turned up north to Canada in the TBM, been hooked on this thing for a while. I determined my plan already. I'm gonna take this thing around the world. I downloaded the OnAir app and started taking jobs. Soon... i was up in Northern BC, heading for the Yukon. Long story short, I got to Japan pretty quickly, just before the update came out.

I had a request from Microsoft XBoxLive for a password on starting up my MSFS2020 after 3 weeks holiday I had installed MSFS2020 Premium DeLuxe via an Aerosoft 10 disc boxed setup I was locked out I was then able to access my MSFS2020 again after setting up an XBoxLive account with different email address However some planes are now missing -the Deluxe and Deluxe Premium ones I note that the planes are present in my Microsoft Flight Simulator/Official/ One Store Anything I could try? xxd09

Does anyone else find the logbook to be somewhat useless? It records about half of my flights. I just flew from CYRP down to KLGA and made a pretty nice landing considering there was near zero visibility, and the logbook shows nothing.

I have now had a few cases the last few days of my render scaling changing back to 100 seemingly randomly. I have not changed any nvidia settings nor accessed the setting manually. The only thing I have changed is either the aircraft I am flying or the livery. Has anyone else seen that? I don't have that much different of a setting I like to use (120 - which seems to give me the smoothest flying) but its annoying and I can tell the difference...just curious...I hate to have to check it every flight but might have to start doing that....

I have the Saitek Pro Throttle Quadrant which is an older version with a PS2 connector. It is connected to my PC via the USB ports on the Saitek Pro Yoke. After installing MFS 2020 it showed up in the controls screen but has now disappeared from there. The Yoke remains connected to my PC although I don't use that now having bought a Logitech joystick instead. Sometimes, even though the throttle quadrant does not show on screen, its controls do seem to work within the sim , but sometimes it doesn't (that could be the settings for a particular flight, but I'm not sure). Do I need to buy a USB throttle quadrant or is there a workaround ?

Just recently began noticing that when I start a flight in the SR22 the altimeter setting is 27.99in. If I change it in the PFD to 29.92 it is fine until I change to external view. Altimeter in external view stays at 27..99.

Tried to resume a flight earlier this evening and on both occasions had an instant CTD as soon as I clicked the flt file name in the pop up Explorer box. Seems to be a wider issue as also mentioned over at FS dot com in fact surprised no-one has put it on here (I also checked the CTD forum but no mention). Posted in here as it seems likely a wider spread FS20 bug). Anyone else encountering this?

Looks like there are the 8 animals. Probably bears in Yosemite, elephants in Ombika, flamingos in El Calafate, giraffes on the Blue Nile, geese on Skadar Lake, seagulls on Lake Tahoe. But I wonder where to search for hippos and rhinos? (The White Nile and Blue Nile were investigated by Livingston and Stanley, Sir Richard Burton, Speke. All star Victorian explorers. Military men like Kitchener and Gordon and The Mahdi were around there too. I would enjoy flying down the Nile in WWI era scouts).

I have decided to wait until the most complained of bugs are worked out, the full SDK is released, and a decent array of commercial and freeware addon content is created before I pull the trigger for MSFS 2020. I am currently on FSX-SE after a 15 year hiatus because it was the quickest and most convenient way to return to flight simming and a I already have a large array of addons. Otherwise X-Plane 11 or likely Prepar3d if I get bored as much of my investment works in Prepar3d. Anyone else doing wait and see with 2020?

I think it was an FSX thing that allowed you to spawn a boat or a car and go traveling,,,It would be fun to take boat trips.. I tried it in the icon but it kept nose diving...

Does it ever happen or is it allowed for a GA flight that starts out in VFR to switch to IFR at some point during the flight due to deteriorating weather? I tried this (Not really knowing what to do) in the Grand Caravan (G1000). In the MSFS flight planner I selected a VFR flight from Abbotsford to Vancouver (26R). There was a magenta line to Vancouver, so I enabled Nav mode and the plane started tracking it. About half way there, I pretended as though my visibility went to zero so I added an ILS approach for 26R on the G1000. That added to my flight plan nicely. Thought I'd make a flight this morning. So I spawned on the runway at LaGuardia in the Longitude. Set the AP. Release the brakes, full throttle. Nothing happens. The engines spool up, but the plane doesn't move. Did I forget the brakes after all? Nope. Reset and release, several times, using the keyboard command and using the brake lever. Switch to external view, the nosewheel is spinning away, but the mains are completely still. Pushback, nothing. Tried slewing forward a little to see if that would make a difference, nope. Had to enable the dev console and switch aircraft (wish there was a better way to do that) and a different plane was able …

Hello everyone! So i know that in recent updates the AA has gotten worst but I am on TAA with a res of 1440p and there are so many Jagger lines. Is there is tips on how to improve AA or must we wait for Asobo to fix it? Thanks!

I crash to desktop when I try to start a flight there, or fly there from another airport. I removed all the freeware from my Community folder.
