Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

I have now tried 3 flights since the past update where the A320 literally just sinks out of the sky while flying the ILS. It's impossible to control. It actually looks like it is hitting an invisible wall once I descend below 4,000 feet. I've flown flight sims for over 20 years and I know I have the ILS set up correctly( Not so relevant but I'm also a Private Pilot too). I have Autothrottle engaged with an approach speed set, ILS tuned, Altitude managed mode engaged and no matter what I do, the plane won't level off below 4,000 at any assigned altitude and just basically sinks out of the sky. I push full throttles to try and regain altitude and literally nothing help…

A320 (Fly By Wire) Started a flight by loading a .pln file created from SimBrief. Flight plan was loaded correctly in the FMC. Saved the game right before take off, then the game crashed 5 minutes later. After reloading the save file, the flight plan is no longer in the FMC, but it still showed up on the World Map before I clicked Fly. You mean to tell me there is absolutely no way to reload a saved fight with the plan saved in the FMC??? There's no way I'm retyping the waypoints over and over every time the game decides to randomly crash for no reason. Saving the FMC state should be part of the save flight function. What a complete joke!

In general I haven't had any issues with it, until now. Flew from KSAC to KSMO via the BONJO arrival to visual rwy 3 because the sim doesn't have the RNAV approaches that Navigraph showed. So I figure no problem I'll take a challenge and do a visual night landing in an unfamiliar airport sure. Now, I've come down that arrival before for Burbank so not sure what happened but ATC kept changing the descent altitude between 5500-7100 feet with multiple spots in between over and over for like 5 minutes straight. Then the real problem started. Told to expect vectors for the visual RWY 3, but they never came. I'm like 15 miles out to sea and they just kept telling me fly 2…

Guys. Ever since the patch before last I've had bad issues with blurry/melted scenery. Forums had many others with the issue but possible solutions haven't worked. I'm considering reinstalling the sim. But is there a way of exporting my controls so I can import them later? Thanks.

Orbx has just released ENAL in Norway which looking at the Orbx forums, many have purchased to complement the relatively nearby Aerosoft ENVA. Unfortunately it seems if you have both airports installed it crashes the sim due to some weird bug only Asobo can fix which prevents two areas of addon photo scenery from being loaded into the sim at the same time. Orbx say they are aware of this but have yet not put any notice on their sales page warning users of this potential conflict which I think is a bit unfair. Having pretty much only been flying the A320NX (FlyByWire), I have started trying to learn the TBM 930 systems (seeing as there are so many good reviews about it). One thing I am having a problem with so far, is how to add a cruising level/altitude when creating a flight plan using the G3000. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, has anyone tried this payware yet? I followed the instructions, put the extracted folder in my Community folder, restarted my entire system multiple times, read FS Academy's faq and removed my only other Community app, PilotPlus Wycombe, restarted my system, no luck, restarted, started MSFS without starting TrackIR first, no luck. I've emailed the developer, but was wondering if the old pros here might have an idea. This sim is just one amazing frustration after another. Trying to stay positive...

In my FSX days (which was quite a few years ago, because I switched to DCS and other Sims before coming back to MSFS 2020) I remember I had an Add-on which added a Follow Me car / bus. It was there instead of the artificial markers on the taxiways and it adjusted its speed (to some extend) to how fast you were taxiing. I wonder if someone saw a mod or Add-on for MSFS 2020 which does the same?

Hi. I have a really weird problem with FS (although I think it is more likely to be on the MS side than my PC. Suddenly, FS would not start. Clicking on the icon did nothing. Trying to run as administrator did nothing. I had initially installed with Gamepass and then bought the Premium Deluxe version. Hi there! I have purchased my MS2020 and I was so excited to see the city of Toronto from the sky! Toronto was supposedly in the list of the photorealistic cities in MS2020 but the CN tower isn't even present, no downtown Toronto present. Is there a way that I can change it? I even tried with global rendering quality set to Ultra. Any advise will be appreciated. Thanks

I would think there's an easy solution to this, but I sure can't figure it out. I have a history list consisting of one airport and two lat/long positions and I can't seem to delete them. Any attempt I make to search for an airport comes up with zero results, and I think I need to clear the departure history to get this working again. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello all, I am just wondering if when my sim checks for updates, whether or not it is actually updating. I raise this query, because this morning I loaded it up, selected my aircraft and livery, clicked on departure airport, and found three new airborne waypoints that were not there yesterday. I further found that I could not search for any airports at all. I could only select from the waypoints and the airports listed. The same applies to the arrival points, in that I can only select from the list provided and there was basically no search function. Hey, From release (possibly even alpha) I have noticed this weird line across the horizon. It is most visible during hazy conditions and/or when sun is lower on the horizon. Has any of you experienced it as well? Picture included.

I've had this issue since the beginning. Reported on Zendesk but no help. When I load a saved flight plan, it shows up fine on the globe. I can hover over any click spot or on fly and it changes color. In dev mode the frame rate counter and everything else is still churning. But nothing happens, the only way out is with the 3 finger salute. I'm using the version downloaded from the Microsoft store, and changing the install directory to an SSD used only for the sim. Today I uninstalled the sim and deleted everything on the SSD. Did the whole download process again and absolutely nothing has changed. I'm out of ideas and I don't think I'm ever going to get…

I have no access to live weather. The "Live" button in the "Weather and Time" is greyed out. I can access "custom" and "preset" but no live weather. Any suggestions?? I do have internet access. Thanks, Rodger

Hi, I loved the new MSFS and I'm quite excited to see the aircraft offerings from PMDG, FSLabs, QualityWings, TFDi, Majestic, A2A and more. However, it looks like it might take up to / more than 1 year for all of these aircraft to arrive, due to the SDK issues, as cited by these developers. However, they did not specify / give details about these issues, and as an X-Plane developer, I really wonder what they are. It looks like the main issue is WASM modules currently being single threaded and 32-bit, along with many undocumented features (weirdly enough, many of them are actually working just fine, even though they are not documented) and lack of some neat debug…

Here in the US its has been snowing in our northern portion and many states have had snow some almost a foot. I have loaded the sim up at many airports that are showing snow and have yet to have the weather engine have snow. One strange thing is the weather always starts or when you bring it up before your flight to first set it it is always at present highlighted, not sure if this is normal but again I cant get snow to save my life. Any thought would be appreciated. Shayne

I have purchased and successfully downloaded the premium deluxe version -- in/from Canada. However, when I try to purchase and download add-on products from the Marketplace, it does give me the option to change the add-on purchase registration region from the US. This results in the purchase failing since my payment method is from Canada. Odd, since I purchased the original sim from Canada at the Canadian price and currency. Can someone advise how I resolve this issue? Many thanks, Brian
