Weather in 2024
Turbulence in the sim is non existent let alone at all close to realistic. Until that’s done with any level of accuracy, it’s going to be difficult to make it important to divert around any weather.

Weather in 2024
Live weather makes the sim come alive but trying to simulate and replicate every possible cloud formation is next to impossible from a visual standpoint. The part of the weather system that still feels off is the wind. At times a small amount of wind particularly from the side on landing can push the plane so much. While I’ve never flown a 320 in real life, I’ve flown a 172 for over 600 real world hours. Crosswinds are rough in a 172 but, to me, cross winds in a 320 feel like they have the same impact while landing as they do in the 172 and that just does not seem correct. Maybe it is- but I do think the sim can improve on wind effect.

How do you feel about career addons ?
For airline flying “A Pilots life” is great. It’s essentially the way I do 95% of my sim flying. The add on is easy to use, very stable and gives a sense of purpose to the flight. Obviously the only issue is you are restrained to the airline you chose actual route system so you do go to the same airports a lot but that does not bother me.

Landing Airbus Aircraft
It’s also impossible to consistently have smooth landings as any pilot in real life will tell you. So cut yourself some slack here. A solid 200-350fpm landing is typical in a lot of flights in real world. I’ve heard real world airline guys say that they really only care about G load and anything under 2.0 is not even a worry. As far as technique, I pull the power at 30 ft and then actually try and level off for a few seconds before allowing the plane to settle into the runway. It’s probably because I’ve flown a 172 for 600 hours IRL that I do it this way but it yields consistent 150-300 FPM touchdown well under 1.5G. If you immediately start to flare at 30 you actually will drive the mains into the ground causing a pretty firm touchdown.

Airbus or Boeing ?
The airbus everyday and twice on Sunday. First, because Fenix is the best airliner developer in the game and provides a totally amazing product that is without any issues. Second, the Airbus is a “simple” aircraft to learn and once you get how to program the box and start the engines( which is simpler than a 172) it’s just a dream to fly. It’s so simple and relaxing. If flicking 50 switches is your thing than Boeing is the way to go but that’s not my thing at all.

Poor performance yesterday and today.
I actually momentarily got booted from the server mid flight yesterday for the first time in forever. About 3 minutes later I got reconnected and it was a non issue for the duration of the flight. I suspect with a lot of people off from school and work the servers are more crowded than usual.

FENIX Engine Failures after the most recent update MSFS2020
Just flew the fenix yesterday with 0 issues. I don’t think I’m on the most recent update of the fenix though- maybe that’s the solution.

MSFS 2024 overtakes MSFS 2020 in player numbers on SteamDB
I still fly 2020 and have no real intention of switching to 24 anytime soon. I just don’t see the need. 2020 is great in every way and I have it set up and running exactly as I like. I’m fine with whatever sacrifices I’m making as long as 2020 continues to perform and look as great as it does- I’m very happy.

Black square Bonanza and Baron soon!
I was watching a lot of V1’s stream yesterday and man do these planes look incredible. The sounds are also off the charts! It looked like these will certainly be on par with the dukes and possibly even better. The PT6 Bonanza was literally insane!

Black square Bonanza and Baron soon!
I have the dukes and love those aircraft. Everything about them is spot on amazing! I’d be curious in buying the Bonanza for sure as a single engine piston on the level of the Dukes would be great to have!

Su 4 Beta
These betas seem to be coming out very quickly. Practically one per month. Seems pretty quick to me but I don’t participate in them. For those that do, has these frequent beta releases been standard for ASOBO?

2020 still has its fans
I don’t have 24 so I can’t speak to it personally but apparently during sim update 3, 24 would not always save the bindings correctly and some streamers were constantly having to rebind controls. Glad it worked for you but I saw how challenging it was for them and that kept me away.

2020 still has its fans
I use TAA and NVDA and I’ve not had any issues but then again I have not updated drivers in a while under the idea of if it ain’t broke don’t fix it! I might try rolling back the drivers if you want to use TAA but I am not even sure what driver version I have.

2020 still has its fans
I’ve not yet bought 24 and maybe im missing out. If so, that’s ok with me. I watch a fair amount of YouTube streamers on my train commute into work and their experiences have me hesitant to switch over. The horrific control binding experience being the main reason in my eyes. 2020 looks incredible and I’m fortunate that it flies so stable. To me, stability is the number one factor I want in a sim. I’ll eventually move to 24 but I’m in absolutely no rush!
