Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

PFS locks up only the Virtual Display works. The Standby instruments and Autopilot continues to work. Its happened every time since new patch. Locks up climbing to altitude with Nav and VS engaged. I have only Scenery in my community folder. Anybody else experiencing this or no how to solve the problem? Regards

Trying to understand how Profiles will work in the OPTIONS/CONTROLS section. I am using all CH products so I have the Yoke, the Rudder Pedals, and the Throttle Quadrant. It looks like I can't change anything in the Default setup, so I add a new Profile I call Profile 1 for each of the controllers and set each up the way I want them. I save them. It does not look like I can create a dedicated profile for types of aircraft like I could do in P3D using FSUIPC. First post, very casual flyer, but do enjoy reading and learning from the forum - most of the time:) Asobo provide more feedback and interaction that most other studios, but I do feel it is rather vague and in places slightly pointless. I found it embarrassing that two of the top guys on the project had to spend even a minute of their lives discussing the need or not to "press a key". I get that it shows they are listening to the community but when you read the issues and wish-list there's little logical structure to them. I have a few questions regarding which type of IFR/ILS approach each plane can use for landing. Specifically in the C172 G1000 and TBM 930 G3000. I want to land into KSFO. I know the G3000 supports ILS LOC and RNAV approaches and I think the G1000 does as well. But according to the runways at KSFO, if I will be doing an ILS landing, which one do I choose? Can I do the ILS 28R CAT II/III approach with the G1000/G3000? I just want to know what type of ILS approaches are valid when flying in either of those planes.

I love flying the Diamond DA62, great little plane, but going through the startup I can never get the engines to go. Is it just me?

Hello, I'm planning to use my newly bought TrackIR with MSFS and my question is to those, who already use TrackIR. Could you please tell me what your TrackIR config is? Precisely, I'd like to know: - the value of your Speed & Smooth sliders - which profile you use (Default, Smooth or One:One)? - what are your key bindings for Center, Pause and Precision? - do you use Precision mode? - have you made any changes to Pitch, Roll and Yaw axes and if so, what Point X and Y values do you use? - have you changed anything in MSFS settings to make it work better with TrackIR? Morning all, Whenever I use the travel to function I end up on final approach with no fuel. For example, I flew from Lossiemouth to Evenes yesterday which with the ILS approach is 490 nm. Both fuel tanks were full and the TBM 930 has a range of 1700 nm. After reaching the cruise I traveled to the approach and had over half of of my fuel capacity left. After realising the approach was going to be quite lengthy due to the stupid ILS entry pattern I travelled to finals. As soon as it loaded and I was lined up with the runway, both tanks were dry and the engine had cut out. This has happened on numerous occasions so it’s not a one-off glitch. Having issues this morning, all my addons have gone from the Content Manager, even the Asobo stuff. All i get is a blank page with nothing, despite purchasing quite a lot of addons, everything was fine other than the following. I had an issue last night with a purchase i made from Sim Market (Tropical Sim VC Bird INTL Antigua) all went well on the installation yet whenever i tried to use the addon results in a ctd everytime, yet if i used any other airport it was fine. All the content is still in my Community File as before, so scratching my head trying to think whats gone wrong. I have emailed Sim Market and the developer, just waiting on a reply.

Got a new interior job from Daher. Plane performed with no issues. The torque and light mod doesn't seem to work properly with the G3000 Mod. Next, I'm gonna install a love seat and a small bar and put a partition up, because LLTBM930 (hip hop aficionados will catch my drift).

Well, as much as I would like to be more positive about the way ASOBO allowed for setting wind layers, at present while the interface seems ok to me, the effects leave a lot to be desired 😕 When I try to define a layer for wind and gust intensity, no matter how wide I set the frequency, there being some gust always appears to turn MFS into what would call "X-Plane turbulence mode". GA aircraft become totally jerky in their behaviour, trembling wildly, mostly ( I'd say 99% ) in yaw. It's clearly overdone and, incorrect compared to real world effects. Setting the aircraft MOI parameters to unrealistic values can "help" with this symptoms, but it's far f…

Anyone else try to boot up post patch and get stuck with a picture of mt Fuji? Do I need a reinstall?

All normal for the past month. First and only install, updates applied to Win and MSFS without issue through out the month. Use the app for 3 hours yesterday. Today, all proceeded normally after "press any key". This time when the Mount Fuji page came up, it would not advance. Music was playing normally. Restarted with the same behavior. Let the app stay on the Mount Fuji page for 30 minutes. Then tried repair and then reset, but no change. Would prefer not to uninstall/install on my slow internet connection. The initial 100Gb download took days. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ...

Please stop trying to kill me. Stop randomly turning autopilot off , increasing Dn trim to max and extending my landing gear. Its not very nice and the last time you did that I was about 200ft agl and barely had time to recover.. Stop randomly switching electrical power to off.. its annoying. I take off from an airport and while enroute I have this icon on my screen showing me the distance and direction from my departure aircraft. How do you rid your screen of this icon? I have looked at navigation in the assist menus and pretty sure I have things turned off that need to be. Thanks in advance. Duane

Currently we have mods from GNS 430 to G3000. Does any of them improved default autopilot functionality or all "garmin" Mods improve only User Interface? Please share your experience.

Well, I installed the update with a clean Community folder, and took the C172 G1000 out for a spin to try the autopilot to see if they fixed anything. Set it up on the runway to climb to 4000 feet at 700fpm at runway heading. Took off and engaged the AP at 1000 feet in a 600 foot climb. FPM went to the set value OK, but the aircraft started to porpoise a little. I then set the heading to about 20 degrees to the left and clicked the HDG button. The aircraft showed HDG on the PFD and started to turn for a split second then went right back to ROL. Tried several times with the same results. I have tried several times to install FS Map Tool Server Setup 1.0.2 I get the following error. A Java Script error occurred in the main process. The specified module could not be found. Windows 10 - 64 bit. Any ideas on how to get past this? Thanks a lot. Rolf

Robert gave a small one-liner update on the MSFS version of the 737 from in his latest Oct 18 update about their BBJ product line for P3D. "PMDG 737NG3 for MSFS: We still expect this product to be 12+ months away based upon the condition and trajectory of MSFS." So maybe a 2022 release at best. Link to update post

So, in my endless pursuit to improve my system, I was frustrated because MSFS does not use exclusive full screen mode. G-Sync LOVES Exclusive full screen mode, and is a bit crappy with anything else. MSFS uses windowed borderless fullscreen mode, so it's not really proper fullscreen. Frame pacing in MSFS is terrible. The game uses flip sequential. Using Special K software I overrode that and used flip discard and applied more advanced frame pacing magic. This then treats the windows as if it was exclusive full screen (which G-Sync loves). I've noticed when I click the Microsoft Simulator icon, sometimes the game launches, other times it takes me to the Microsoft Store and I have to launch the game from there. I'm not doing anything other than clicking the same icon each time (which is a shortcut from the start menu). It seems completely random. Anyone else experience this, and know of a fix?

When I will buy the Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant Airbus Edition (when it will be available), how will I associate the Engine Master selector (this rotary selector with 3 positions) to the MSFS Airbus selector? And how will I associate the 2 engine switches to the A320 switches in the sim? Maybe I missed something here, but I couldn't find these specific commands in the list of available controls in MSFS. Do you have an idea?
