Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

Flying Cessna 152 after the latest update felt really good in ground effect. Floating with slight power adjustments to grease the landing, having proper feedback from the plane. Like mass and inertia have been improved. Felt better than X-plane for the first time. Also water, even with light wind seems to have slight ripples and some wave effects around the protruded parts of coastline. Maybe I am under influence of the overall improvements and nothing new is introduced, but I really felt good about aircraft handling after the last USA update.

Has anyone tried the bush trips since the latest update? I stopped doing the Yosemite trip as there was a bug where the sim wouldn't recognise that each leg had been completed. I can't see anything in the release notes but Asobo have released another bush trip with the US update? So does that mean they're fixed? I can't try it for a couple of days, hence the question. Thanks.

After the update, autopilot disconnects mid flight and will no longer hold altitude or respond to vs. same problem mod or default.

After being disappointed with MSFS after I first downloaded it, I left it for a while to continue using P3D. But, after hearing so many rave reviews about the appearance of the sim, I thought I'd give it another go. Wow, how disappointed I was. I started a flight from Newark and decided to fly over Manhattan. This is following a left hand turn out of Newark. Is this really how bridges are depicted?! Flying today in the 747, I was on final and...there was a warning on the display. Landing gear not down. But the lever shows down. So I lifted it up and put them out again, the warning never went away. It was the middle of the night so I couldn't switch to an exterior view (not something a pilot could do anyways) so I had no choice but to continue. I landed but had no thrust reversers and not too much in the way of steering. I stomped on the brakes and was able to drag it to a halt. I used to get this in older versions, is it possible some kink in the code ended up carrying over?

Can anyone help explain to me the autothrottle in the 787? I have it armed, and the A/T button is lit up, but still I have to control the throttle manually. Am I missing something? Or is this another "undocumented feature?"

I downloaded and installed the update, updated my graphics driver and also ensured Windows was current. Now it gets to about halfway across the loading bar, the music cuts out and it crashes to desktop. Over the last few days I have installed FSUIPC7 as well as Mobiflight. It was working perfectly before tonight's update. I checked my community folder and it is empty. Anyone having a similar issue, or have any suggestions? UPDATE/FIX: I uninstalled FSUIPC7 and it continued to load.

I completed a 90 minute flight after the update, screwing around as I flew. I did configure an almost direct flight plan, point A to point B with just one interim fix. Then I screwed around sightseeing by executing out of NAV mode and flying freehand, then back to NAV, and so on a few times. Selected and activated an approach. Went according to Hoyle. Landed, Taxied up to ground crew, shut down. Nothing. So exited to main menu and check logbook in profile. Priceless. I can't set mixture before I'm airborne after update 7, has anyone else noticed it?

Oh dear, another dog's dinner! I've just downloaded the latest update, only an hour ago, and already there are problems with the camera views in the VC. They don't work! Zilch, nada, nothing. I can't move around the cockpit with the keyboadr arrows. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I checked out Monument Valley and was wondering if it might be possible to liven up the scenery there. For example, there could be a couple Camping vehicles parked around, with tents out and a lit campfire, and kids playing badminton, or guys fishing in a nearby river. Is it possible?

Occasionally I get these and I think it's in a certain area not sure yet. Anyone why we're not lined up w/ the VFR map nor route. If I do a Direct To inflight it's back in alignment to the destination.

Hey guys, Not a huge issue but is anyone else getting quite blurry lights on the runway? I'm running across three screens so wondering if this is distorting things - although doing the same in xplane and they're a lot crisper.

With the USA update of MSFS I thought I would give the app a try (I see it updated my hometown of San Diego, CA). So I just purchased it via the MS Store (not Steam). Transaction OK, a window popped up s to where I wish to install? But appears I have an error message saying: "It looks like you don’t have any applicable device(s) linked to your Microsoft account. To install, sign in on a device with your Microsoft account." Isn't my PC an applicable device? The Message gives me two choices 'CANCEL' or 'INSTALL NOW' but Install now is grayed out? Just loaded up first time after update and EITHER my TBM has eaten a 1UP mushroom OR the ground staff (dude on the pushback) have shrunk in size?? offensive initials not allowed lol.... 🙂 And for some reason my LEFT RIGHT UP DOWN arrow keys do nothing in cockpit, looking at my controls the bindings have been cleared hmmmmm.....

Hi there Has anyone else noticed their GPU runs at max whenever you are any of the Home / Menu screens? My 2080 Super runs at about 40- 60 % whenever I am flying and gives me a great smooth performance but whenever I go back to the menu screens it constantly runs at 100% and the temp goes thru the roof. I am running my ASUS PG279Q monitor at 144Hz, Gsync on, no frame limiter, and Vsync off in the sim. Have tried changing each of these settings but no difference. It’s weird - can’t think what the GPU is having to deal with on the menu screens? Donald

Hello folks, I have noticed an issue which I am not sure what is it exactly, for example whenever I start a flight, the FPS looks to be good, however after sometime, especially upon landing on third party airports, the fps will drastically go down, the VRAM will be filled up and I will be GPU Limted . However if you start at the same airport as new flight, FPS will be on check. Has anybody noticed such as issue? I am pretty sure, this issue was present before patch #5.
