Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020/2024)

OK I haven't used the program for a little while. When I started up the program there were several updates to apply. They seem to have been applied fine. I checked the content and nothing shows needing an update. But all of a sudden, I have the ability to take off with my little Cessna 152 but once I'm up in the air I lose all access to my yoke; nothing works. It's like the plane is flying itself. I don't know what changed. It's not like I've completely lost the yoke because I was able to take off successfully. It's only after I'm up in the air that I lose all controls. I checked the external view to prove the controls were not moving anything on the plane. …

I wanted to try a bunch of new settings so I made a copy of usercfg.opt on my desktop. I made all the setting changes and tried the app. Didn't like the result so I restored the old copy of the file. However now the app says there is an error and the program won't start. Was I wrong to assume I could save and restore that file to the system? UPDATE: Apparently it was my machine that was confused. There seemed to be a ghost occurrence of the program running somewhere in the system. Once I restarted the whole machine I was able to restore the usercfg.opt file and start the app.

Hello, I could have swore in the past I was able to toggle between 25khz comm frequencies and 8khz in the Working Title G1000 mod. It looks like in the real G1000 this is done using the AUX button but that doesn't do it in the mod. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Is there a way to disable the Log Book screen that pops up at the conclusion of every flight? To me, it takes away from the immersion factor. And, the darned thing doesn't seem to work anyway. Mine seems to be stuck back in early October. Thank you. Joe

Hello, I have been trying to install FS 2020 and have gone through most solutions. When the install gets to 16.0 GiB the internet speed completely drops to 0.0 megabits and stays frozen. I was wondering if an Ethernet cable would make the difference? My internet speed reads at 10.00 megabits on Steam.

The software add-on does get the airport code correct and match real life, MSFS World Map, and LittleNavMap. But a very few are wrongly listed in the PDF guide book charts. And after all that is where you probably would first look. I have found the keys to accelerate/decelerate simrate but it does not affect time at all. I also want the time to follow the sim speed just like in FSX/P3D, is there no way to do this ?

Hello everyone. At the risk of feeling embarrassed and perhaps ridiculed I am asking for guidance from all experts here. I still consider myself a novice, a beginner with FS2020. I wanted to enjoy flying FS2020 by myself . As an example, I wanted to fly out of Charles de Gaulle and fly around Paris for a sightseeing flight. Does anyone know how to slowdown the transition speed of a camera view when using a button. When flying, I try to adjust the default camera view up or down a bit by using a yoke button, but find that the view moves much too fast for me to make fine adjustments. tks

He has a video of how and why he removed the wheel pants when he originally bought the plane; obviously there are plusses and minuses (weight against drag etc.), which he sums up. I am new to flying at all so I am letting the simulator give me help. But every time the app posts a message to press a key, the key is shown as a black bordered square with a letter in it. But the letter in it does not do anything so the symbol itself for the key in the message is not being displayed properly. Here's an example of a message: 'Incorrect heading indicator. To set the heading indicator press (and then there's the black square with a letter d in it). Doesn't make any sense and it happens with lots of messages the app is trying to give me.
